new July update:

New Duke Model:

Something doesn't look quite right about that model.

I get a real "dollar store Duke" vibe out of it. Maybe better than Zombie Mutant Duke in the previous build? But it's still kind of off.
The head.

It's a bit tiny and the features aren't prominent enough. His lips blend into the rest of his face and his chin is weak.

It kinda looks like he has a mustache in his skin lip. .

I wonder if I had a rare variant because I had this toy as a kid and didn't realize it came with a shareware copy of Duke 3D. I already owned Duke 64 and thought "It must be the same game." Then when I got to the strippers I realized I possessed something special.

Update: people are now tinkering with the released 2011 version. See in the video. My question is: why now? 2011 was made in UE 1 so why did it take 11 years for modders to fuck around with it? I can understand fucking around with 2011 and reincorporate things from the 2001 build but why now?

Sounds like another Duke renaissance. I guess 2011 must have some more community interest after the 2001 build dropped.

Gearbox infamously removed modding tools and access to the console for the final release of the game, with the excuse of preventing cheating on Multiplayer, but they did it in such a lazy way that most of the editor still came within the game but it lacked the main executable, the 2001 leak came with the editor, which made it possible to link it to the 2011 version.

Shit. That must have been a legendary moment back when getting the good stuff meant downloading grainy bmps off the net or illicitly obtaining copies of razzle.
