I hope this doesn't end up being 800MB of shit porn
If it is this image is still oddly relevant.

I'm so excited for this piece of history but I know getting excited before the full dump is just wanting disappointment. Anyone who doesn't just release everything at once is an attention whore faggot and if I even see the name randy I know the whole things fucked.
If this happens I'm going to celebrate but till then I'll remember that life sucks usually and only the biggest pieces of shit get these rare protypes.

It's real. Audio recorded too low for 2/3 of it. Levels are pretty empty. Hope people can add content to it. It looks like it could be a solid game.
I had to go to the October build and use that one. You can also build the game in the October build. There are patches you should implement but I haven't messed with it.

My personal favorite part of this leak so far is lulzing over how quick the tranchan jannies were to nuke the release thread. They should have announced the leak over here. Imagine the seething that would ensue and the thread would probably also stay up a hell of a lot longer as Null is Null and being our Dear Feeder I imagine he'd likely just point out to the Gearbox DMCA that links aren't intellectual property and nothing violating their IP is being hosted on this site in the reply letter.

MEGA and Internet Archive links courtesy of some rando on Duke4.

I kinda wanna play this, just because I have a shred of hope left that maybe I'll get another good game with the Duke.
There are more than enough DN3D mods and total conversions of supreme quality to keep you busy for quite a long time if you actually want to play some good Duke content. The leaked 2001 builds are for sure nice to finally have access to and have definitely been pretty interesting to explore, but they are absolutely incomplete and not what I would personally consider to be a "fully playable game" yet. All the tools are there for modders and enthusiasts to turn it into one though.

This was so cool to experience. Teenage me is satisfied.

This is only going to be worth your time if you’re a hardcore fan of the series and follower it’s sordid development. There is very little game to be played here. To me, it was like unearthing and being able to witness a piece of lost gaming history, unearthing a relic of the past; a virtual museum tour. The “holy shit” factor of getting the thing running and warping around the unfinished levels was good enough for me.

My personal holy grail of gaming was realized. I don’t even care that it is mostly incomplete, it was amazing to see for the short period of time. If there is an intrepid group of developers out there who will flesh this thing out, I’ll give it another whack When It’s Done(tm).
