Probably butthurt that he didn't realize people never played Duke Nukem for revolutionary new gameplay/graphics and he probably could have released DNF in 2002 and not completely bankrupted 3DRealms.

I really dislike his "woe is me" posture. He could have taken it completely different and addressed a whole lot of issues that went wrong with this release, including his part of the blame on getting it stuck in development hell, but instead he chooses to bitch and moan.

People are excited for something that he managed to destroy. Duke Nukem was dead. Someone brought it back to life. George killed Duke, Randy just made a mockery of his funeral Weekend at Bernie’s style by releasing the thing we got in 2011 (which honestly isn’t the worst game I’ve ever played - still milquetoast)

...and in the end it didn't matter what either of them said, both sides were wrong.
The DNF test stuff is interesting but I don't think it's some long lost hidden gem. There's been a good deal of QoL features added in shooters over the years. Embracer owns the IP and if they made a new Duke Game that played just like the original DNF build, that may not go over well with the general public.

It will forever be terrible that this series will likely never see the light again due to the sheer legal quagmire of the rights (with even Bobby Prince getting his legal licks in) and crusty has-been fucks still holding onto decades old grudges.
