Duke Nukem Forever 2001 Build Discussion

Halo, Doom 3, and god knows what else influenced the 180 that DNF became. Big question is if George Brussard would have look at the bloody humunculous that the 2011 game was and decided to cut a lot of the chafe while also delaying the game by yet another 2-3 years?

I also find it funny that the 2001 version has acid rounds for the shotty which is an influence from Resident Evil 1 with Jill's grenade launcher.
2011 is a cut down version of 2009. Levels were larger, there was more shit to do and more shit to shoot with better mechanics. 2011 is the result of them cutting everything under 60% completion to shit out the game.

My pet theory is: Randy used DNF 2001 November/2002 build for DNF 2011, like a troon who skinwalker a dead relative.

And 2009 is a simplified version of what they had between 2006 and 2008, before they had to start cutting down things so that the game could run on a Xbox 360, the game still had a traditional health system and no weapon limit before 2009.

Jon Saint Jon is a faggot.
Agree.

I think the 2006 era video was the weird transition between the 2001 incarnation and the 2011 released incarnation. Looks way too cobbled together and all over the place.
Aftwr that they pulled themselves together but it was too late.

Not really sure where else to drop this, but on the subject of Jon St. John being a tool, I found this comment on one of Civvie 11's vids:

I think he gets paid enough. I don't think people who have followed him closely can necessarily agree. He's been a real ass to a lot of his fans. For everyone of us he was nice enough to wish a happy birthday to, he was absolutely shitty to someone else.

He made a Big The Cat fan cry when she asked if he would sign their big the cat doll and he basically told them to piss off. He's been in more tiffs on Twitter and Facebook than I can remember. I can't tell you how many people have come to me with stories about being blocked or banned without any warning. He expects absolute ass kissing from his fans, and when he doesn't get it he can get really ugly. One of his biggest female Duke fans (No shit, she literally has a mushroom cloud with "COME GET SOME" tattooed across her chest), was banned from his page for no other reason than asking Jon why someone else was banned.

He also had a complete meltdown on facebook about the Sonic movie. He even got into it with Joe Siegler about that one.

Dude has a serious attitude problem. Part of me doesn't blame him. He started to go off the rails after his divorce, but he went really apeshit when Trump was elected and basically adopted a "take no prisoners' attitude with anyone around him. Even close friends.

Trump seemingly broke a lot of apparently chill celebrity's brains.

I wonder if they're fragile or if they have PR people that say how big trump bashing is and that they should be as vocally leftist as possible.

Yup, that has the weird female body shape tumblr trannies think all women look like. I'm calling it now they got a tranny playing Bombshell and it will sound really obvious.
They make the game playable? Finished some stage? Or just doing useless shit?

I thought it was pretty well known he was a dick even before he got TDS.
I don't think well enough, since he was doing good PR in the first half of the 2010s on Facebook, and still doesn't get backlash for new roles. I didn't see anyone complaining about him as the new voice for the Postal Dude in Postal 4, aside from people disappointed they couldn't get Rick Hunter from Postal 2 (who, later, did reprise his role as an optional voice).

If I come across any more of St. John's antics, I'll drop them in this thread.

Speaking of which, does anyone actually know his real name? It's not "Jon St. John", of course, because who on Earth has "Saint" as part of their last name, but his own website (archive) outright states:
  • Jon started his radio career at the age of 14 in Jacksonville, NC... where his is first "radio name" was Jeff Curtis. He also went by JJ Jeffries for a short while. His real name is still unknown.
He's sure got a "J" theme going on there.
