Dumb game ideas to get the noggin joggin - OC Do Not Steel!!!1

Apologies in advance for the thread necromancy but I wanted to touch up on a concept I mentioned in an different thread and I recently thought about it again.

I mentioned that someone should make a 2D Fighting Game with old-school monsters and public domain figures in the vein of Darkstalkers and I still think that'd be a cool idea, especially if you go with an all-public domain cast of characters and each character corresponds to a specific creature or archetype.

My ideal cast would include fifteen playable characters plus the bosses and their main archetype in parentheses.

Playable Characters
1. Count Dracula (Vampire)
2. Fenrir (Werewolf/Big Bad Wolf)
3. Creature (Frankenstein's Monster)
4. Eric (Phantom of the Opera)
5. Morgan La Faye (Wicked Witch)
6. Ramses (Mummy)
7. Dejah Thoris (Space Alien)
8. Abraham Van Helsing (Vampire Hunter)
9. Sherlock Holmes (Great Detective)
10. Sarutobi Sasuke (Ninja)
11. Quincy P. Morris (Cowboy)
12. Jenny Everywhere (Time Traveler)
13. Feathertop (Evil Scarecrow)
14. Barbara (Final Girl)
15. Sun Wukong (Martial Artist)

Bosses and Sub-Bosses
1. Thoth-Amon (Evil Overlord)
2. Heinrich Von Hesse (Headless Horseman)
3. James Moriarty (Criminal Mastermind)

To use a fighting game analogy, Thoth-Amon is the final boss like Shao Kahn in MK, while the Headless Horseman is a sub-boss similar to Goro or Motaro, and Moriarty is like Shang Tsung, the right-hand man to the main villain.

A real-world two-way bowling game where there are pins and bowlers at both ends of the lane. Both bowlers bowl at the same time, trying to knock down the other's pins, but you can play defensively where you use your ball to intercept the other's ball, or you can play offensively and make clever use of spin to evade the other ball and reach his pins. This is an original invention of mine, © Troonos 2020.

Love Quest. An open world game. You play a 30 year old "man". Butt you have wear a sign saying you are looking for a boyfriend free girl.

Had an idea for a game concept similar to the "Haunted PS1 Demo Disc" compilation from back in February of this year, but I'm not sure if it'd be a collection of horror demos, a general collection of demos, or mini-games that also could potentially double as demos.

I've not played the Haunted PS1 Demo Disc yet, but I played plenty of actual PS1 demo discs as a kid back in the day and one thing I loved about them was they often had some kind of theme, particularly the ones from Official PSM and the Underground Jampack series.

Usually, it was an aesthetic motif with an opening cutscene to set it up.

One of my favorite examples was an Official US PSM demo disc from around 1999 or very early 2000 that had a futuristic train theme and the opening had a train race a hovercar and win. The main menu was then presented as a train pulling into the station with the list of demos being presented as the doors on the train cars opening.

Some of the demos on there included Dino Crisis 1, Army Men: Air Attack, WCW Thunder, and the Tarzan game

Like, I know it's weird but I'd love to see a faux-retro "PS1 Demo Disc" style game with distinct themes and aesthetic gimmicks.

One idea I had was a retro 50's and 60's Rock & Roll nostalgia gimmick where the opening cutscene was an old-timey malt shop or sock hop and the main menu is set up to look like the menu of an old jukebox

Isn't that a Suda51 game?

A fighting game where moves and combos are done by motion controls and/or voice recognition.

Example: to do a Hadoken, throw your arms out like a fireball OR yell out Hadoken!

There were parts of Medievil 2 (and maybe 1 I can't remember) that were kinda like that.

Clean Your Room

Your room is a mess. Clean it properly and keep it clean and you get an attaboy from Jordan Peterson. Suddenly you are transported to a mansion where your servants keep your room clean and your big tiddied milf wife and your kids love you and you're an upstanding respected member of society. Fully automated luxury space capitalism is in full swing. All because you kept your room clean and that made you a disciplined, moral person. You win!

Dont keep your room clean and one day you check out the news on your phone and see Jordan Peterson has died from benzo OD or withdrawal. You go outside and society is collapsing because you didnt save it from communism, your room was too dirty. Game over.

A Friday the 13th video game where you play as Jason but it's a single-player game that's more or less a clone of Manhunt.

You'd have different factions to serve as either hunters or as victims for Jason and there would be different areas of the map, it'd be kind of semi-open world.

A Friday the 13th game that is voice controlled and you play as the voice of Jason's mother. You're giving him instructions, encouragement, berating him and telling him to kill kill kill kill. Tilt the phone to control which ear you are whispering in. See, that's a dumb game idea.

Bonus points if you're a pod person with paper thin walls IRL.

A micro-heavy voice controlled RTS.

With all the stonks craze right now a realistic stonks simulator could probably sell like hot cakes. With maybe a server with it's own economy with real trading without real cash

Make it a VR game (or at least a mode) for added stomach-turning. I see so many people bitching about VR sickness, and no dev is saying "Yeah, what can we do with that?"

Borderlands-esque game except it's in in classic Gothic/medieval fantasy setting, inspired by the Heretic/Hexen games. Equipment is also simplified, you only have your weapons, armor and relics/artifacts. Armors can be either breakable or unbreakable and can possess unique stuff that can benefit the player, or even hamper them in some way.

Relics/artifacts are pretty much the same as the borderland relics except they do more than increase a stat or boost something.

Now the weapons, instead of brands with gimmicks, the gimmick will depend per type of weapon and on ranged weapons it will depend on their composition. Eg. a sapphire wand has strong power but has a slow fire rate but single projectile, ruby has aoe, topaz has spread, and so on.

There will be some melee weapons too, ranged weapons will be wands, bows glyphs/rings which will allow you to conjure projectiles on your hands, and gunpowder firearms. Each weapon has slots for enchants, and they can be enchanted as long as they have the slot for it. Enchants can modify a weapons trait or add a different element to it, and with the right combo the weapon may start to work uniquely. There are some incompatibilities you have to watch out for too (on some circumstances that can be bypassed) and that can have a penalty on the stats and performance of the weapon.

The weapons won't run with mana or a single ammo pool , each weapon type will have its own ammo pool while magical melee ones will vary and use an existing ammo pool. However, mana will still exist but it will be purely for turning the tides on a battle just like BL 2's action skills. There will still be a level up system which is mainly for increasing your ammo and mana capacity, health. Defense and attack too to some extent.
