Dumb Shit on Wikipedia

I know he has a thread here, but holy shit the early life section reads like it was written by a literal retard.

Ran into a ridiculous Wikipedian today that led to a whole bunch of dumb shit on Wikipedia.

maple1.jpg

Genderspecials, webcomics, and video games, a classic combination. Also, if you're curious, aphantasia is the inability to mentally visualize images.

maple2.jpg

Are you curious what webcomics started in 2002? What webcomics ended in 2016? Why? I would like to point out that Christine Weston Chandler's Sonichu webcomic is nowhere listed.

mable3.jpg

Garbage e-sports events. You remember when Exo and Super Junior performed at Hong Kong Esports Festival 2017? Don't worry, you don't have to. Wikipedia remembers for you.

maple4.jpg

What does it take to make a webcomic notable? Serious question. Just using CreateSpace to self-publish on Amazon?

maple5.jpg

And finally, assorted garbage. List of video games notable for speedrunning is a natural fit for a "non-binary." Shield Knight not only gets a whole dedicated Wikipedia page, but she's not even the protagonist of the game she's from. In fact, the protagonist from her game, Shovel Knight, doesn't have a Wikipedia page, but she does. Would you believe Overwatch pornography has its own Wikipedia page? It has nearly 2,000 words. Do you know what they say? There's porn of it.

What nonsense.

Also, I just found these lists and I bet these will be useful for finding more dumb shit on Wikipedia:

This has to be a troll

Especially since they found an excuse to include the phrase "sleepaway camp" instead of, say, "summer camp".

For those unfamiliar, Sleepaway Camp is a 1983 slasher movie that ends with an infamous reveal that the awkward nerd girl is the killer and also not a girl. The movie ends on a shot that zooms out from "her" ghastly facial expression to a full-frontal reveal with a penis.

Wikipedia naturally has TV tropes 'analysis' on Sleepaway Camp (I have the movie documentary on bluray, first saw it about 10 years ago. Wikipedia is right that it has a surrealist/John Waters quality to it):

Lol at the last paragraph, yes "Angela's" aunt is insane and "her" dad a faggot, but the aunt was right that "she" was trans! It was just a coincidence. Those direct-to-video sequels were not done by the original director/creator and are garbage.

Of course, there is zero chance Hiltzik (the creator/original director) could do the same story now (he did a bad sequel attempt on his own in 2003 but he went in a different direction and Angela was not shown as a woman in it). Like any old property that had a premise that wouldn't fly now, don't worry, they are attempting 'rebootings' of it, probably in part to make it more trans-sensitive/friendly:

Yeah of course they want to take ownership of that character and claim she was "real trans". The irony is that it's because the role was played by a real woman and a conventionally attractive one. If it was an actual troon, I.e. a Buffalo Bill freakshow, they would insist it's an offensive fake trans depiction. Fake is real and real is fake.

The only time Angela/Peter was portrayed by a male was the body double for the dick reveal. (Edit: sequels notwithstanding)

Good catch. I haven't thought about that flick in ages.

If you think what the aunt did was justified in any why or form. Your probably a peice of shit human being.

Anyways how much I bet the sequel reboot or whatever never gets made.

Ah great another version is x a type of sanwich debate
I'll admit, that article is actually a little interesting. The weird part is it's presented as something that's not insane but as a genuine food item, when the average person sees it for what it is: one more effort in a litany of efforts to get the poors to eat less.

If I edited an encyclopedia it would be a footnote in the article that talks about pro-bug-eating propaganda and other insane food schemes for the proles across history. Breadfruit comes to mind as another one.
