Dumb Shit on Wikipedia

  • 🔧 At about Midnight EST I am going to completely fuck up the site trying to fix something.
People continue to bitch about the desktop skin that was deployed in January this year.

Anything which gets you thinking is harmful. You might think different.

Meanwhile, I've been seeing a lot of fear-mongering about "Project 2025" in leftist spaces. They say it's a plan for transforming the country into a dictatorship when Trump is re-elected. Wikipedia's coverage is... not much better.

It's what you'd expect. For example, it links to other deranged articles such as Trumpism, discussed earlier in this thread:
The project seeks to recruit thousands to come to Washington, D.C. and to restructure the federal government in the service of Trumpism

But what I found most remarkable is that there's no link to the project itself, which by the way is right here:

Normally an article will include a link to the thing being talked about, at least listed at the bottom, and usually also in an infobox or other prominent place at the top. While there's no discussion about this omission, it may be that Project 2025 is getting the same treatment as the Kiwi Farms and 8chan/8kun. They don't want readers checking anything for themselves.

Yes the Canadian government literally declared a state of an emergency from a fake joke country where the president is a drug addict goat who can time travel and it is now considered a reliable thing on Wikipedia

I like how all the made-up terminology is so blatant these days, I can relax more since detecting bullshit is way easier. Critical Theory used to be so much more subtle and intelligent sounding now it just seems like it came of a tumblr blog circa 2013

It glows too much for me to believe it is legit.

I disagree, it doesn't really glow in my opinion. Once you look past the scaremongering and fear porn of the leftists describing it the thing is little more than a bunch of MAGA leaning people making up plans of what Trump should do if/when he wins 2024 such as what he should sign into law, what to repeal, which issues to tackle first and which would need extra manpower.

For all the talks about how they are planning to LITCHERALLY LYNCH TRANS FOLX and shit in the end of the day it is not really that different from similar orgs and planning comitees that people like Biden, Obama, Bush, Romney and Hillary all put together in planning what to do once they get into power. The big difference here is the fact they are focused on really aiming towards MAGA and Trump goals instead of Uniparty NeoCon/NeoLib faggotry.

The main reason they're pissing themselves over this is that it calls for a review and restructuring of quite a few federal organizations to remove political operatives abusing nominally nonpartisan positions, and the Deep State types know that they won't be able to do nearly as much when their unelected bureaucrats get sacked. After the shit the Regime pulled this year and throughout the Trump campaign, I’d say such a decision is thoroughly warranted.

Yo check the Community Happenings thread, some more info coming out on C*nada and their Gaystapo shit that crosses over with it. These guys were in the middle of the Canadian People's Democratic Republic operation to false flag and fake the fuck out of the Convoy "emergency" so Emperor Trudeau could have his drones beat people up.

Does anyone know what the current status of the scots wikipedia is? Apologies if it's already been discussed, I tried searching the thread and elsewhere and couldn't find a conclusive update. I can't parse if it's still gibberish, and it appears the brony progenitor is still active doing shit on it according to their user page.

I remember at the time when it blew up the talk page was full of handwringing over the prospect of deleting it and assumptions that hoards of native scots speakers would come out of the woodwork all too happy to spend countless hours fixing the fucking massive embarrassing pile of garbage. I naiively thought there's no way they're just gonna leave it when it's clearly unfixable, it occurred to me recently I never saw the outcome.

Haven't heard much, but there aren't many “native scots speakers” to really complain. It's a fake language after all.

Slowly rebuilding basically its pretty sad.

It's interesting to see how increasingly nationalistic Wikipedia users have gotten. I remember years ago, the was so much sperging around why a notable person should not have the 12 passports they acquired in life listed in their opening sentence. It's why Einstein's page has listed him as merely "German-born" for the past decade or so even though he was a U.S citizen at death and died in the U.S. Even Elon Musk's page omits his South African birth or Canadian/American passports. They have guidelines around this.
Einstein Talk 1.pngEinstein Talk 2.pngEinstein Talk 3.pngEinstein Talk 4.png
When Tina Turner, for tax purposes, relinquished her American passport to become a Swiss resident/national for the last decade of her life, users debated year after year on her opening sentence. Wiki editors seemed to also act like it's rubbish to think that Turner renounced her U.S. citizenship for tax reasons or the fact that being a wealthy celeb could have helped her get any passport she wanted.
Tina Talk 1.pngTina Talk 2.pngTina Talk 3.pngTina Talk 4.png
Even actresses like Mila Kunis and Nina Dobrev have countless discussions on their talk page to only call them (respectively) an American or Canadian. Actually, sperging around Nina's Bulgarian-birth and dual Bulgarian/Canadian citizenship have been so rampant, that her talk page has three pinned discussions that won't auto archive to explain why she's just Canadian.

Nina Talk.pngNina Talk 2.pngNina Talk 3.png
But now, I've been seeing more and more users arrive to the "consensus" that a notable individual should have every single passport they carry be listed in their opening sentence solely because of their "self-identity" or whatever shit. Because "Indian-born British-American" or "Irish-British and American" roll off the tongue. Hell, a chick who was born and raised in England, and doesn't even reside in Albania should be called "Albanian" because it's "important" to her.

Some of the users who screeched that Dua Lipa should be called "Albanian" despite spending her entire life in the Bongland are, surprise surprise, ethnic Albanians.

I'm glad they are. That shit is awful. I pretty much only use Wikipedia for episode guides and movie info, etc. but seriously, who thought that retarded split screen was a good idea?

Also I am really sick of them refusing to acknowledge CWC and Richard Gere's gerbil rumor.

Even if ED is run by retarded faggots, it's still a far superior site.

I guess everyone’s tired of Tranny inflitration into institututions, so now we have albanian infiltration into institutions which is only barely better.
