This reminds me of the "drama" surrounding the wiki page of actress/model "Karina Lombard". Apparently she was born in Tahiti, French Polynesia and claimed her father was a "Swiss-Russian aristocrat" and that her mother was a member of the "Lakota tribe". She even claimed to be an Amerindian and played several Native characters. But her Wikipedia article never said this. They cited her interviews, but instead listed her as having several different ethnic backgrounds not related to her own claims. But the one thing that was consistent was that they usually removed the claims of her being part Native/Lakota for being suspected bullshit, although one user kept adding that info and I think other users just stopped giving a shit.
Seems like most of those users fail at basic reading comprehension. I have seen users get warnings for adding false/misleading info that doesn't match up to the source on other pages, but no one gave a shit about her page.
This turned out to be a load of bullshit, and in actuality, her father was French, and her mother was Polynesian, which explained why she was born in Tahiti. I don't know why she falsified her family background and continued to keep up the lie. Maybe the fashion/entertainment industry thought it would be "better"? Her supposed nephew edited her Wikipedia page to "clarify" this, and later the edits were removed.

Apparently there were marriage records of her parents on the genealogy site "FamilySearch" and the page now has a note saying this. I made an account to the site years ago and out curiosity/boredom, decided to search the website. The claims are legit and there is a marriage record that the site obtained with those exact names listing several of her siblings as the couples children.
Though I'm not sure if a genealogy website would be an "accepted" source (not like the people editing her page even care).
