Dumb Shit on Wikipedia

I'm not sure what I think about paid editing, on the one hand you can have defamatory claims made about you from trannies, and your only recourse is to fight it out in comment threads with people who have a lot more time on their hands than you, or you can have randos like this heifer do it for you. Can we really say that this should be completely off limits? I have never really been very firm on that.

Another area that Wikipedia is absolutely terrible for is because there is no policy allowing dust to settle on any story, they clumsily just copy the news, and for certain events this amounts to taking what the government says at face value. The consequence of this is that a lot of the articles for say the Syrian civil war really have a western propaganda tinge to them.

An example, look at this:

Glorified press release from this 'impartial' organization (the too many sources for the 'conspiracy theory' claim is a nice Wikipedism), I am sure in a few years it will turn out the whole thing was a fraud. If so, this is the kind of thing that would come out eventually in secondary sources like books, but since they never want the dust to clear on anything they quote the government, media sources that support whatever the global misadventure of the moment is, or propaganda directly written by these groups. Those that question the claims are going to be labeled 'conspiracy' or 'state-sponsored media organizations' and therefore not reliable.

I'm amazed Wikipedia is even allowed to have this article. I mean it's an absolutely true description of history, and it isn't trying to say the Jews pushed the "race records" on the innocent huwhite boomers back in the 50s, but you'd think someone would try and delete it on the basis of antisemitism or something. There still isn't an article on Jewish record bosses and their relation to rap music, despite there being decades worth of sources from mostly African American figures (and some Congressmen like Joe Biden, Joe Lieberman, and other losers who said heavy metal caused Satanism in the 80s) blaming Jews for promoting gangster rap that encourages crime and violence in their community. This article appears to have been created in March 2021, so perhaps it's evaded the ideological deletionists of Wikipedia.

You already have to be pretty antisemitic to take "lots of Jewish producers worked with blacks" and conclude that it's a Jewish conspiracy to push jungle music to the whites so they turn into wiggers.

Yet another example of Wikipedia 1) not allowing dust to settle on 'vital' stories, and 2) making Google hits the basis for notability. If they waited a month, would anyone remember? Of course not.

Chris on the other hand, he would have to be front page NYT material before the stupid cunt Guerrilla-warfare would allow an article on him.

I watched this, what he is complaining about (re: original research) would be just as bad in another direction, idiotic fringe shit; he mentions 4chan and reddit threads specifically, and why can't people cite them directly. Early on, wikipedia had more of that, and it wasn't any better. He's right that you basically get the same thing as Wikipedia simply filters it through the mainstream media instead of secondary sources such as books or academic journals (what they should be doing).

But the second half of what he says is right, wikipedia is disdainful of academia and expertise, instead it's just google 'research' and plagiarizing MSM articles, or at best, using outdated books from Internet Archive (since they are easily google-findable) to override more up to date research that the wikipedian dork can't get find for free.

Yeah, this is almost single-handedly Guerrilla-warfare's doing, she announced she was changing the title on her twitter.

I didn't even care about gamergate at the time, I thought it got stupid after a couple of weeks, but that description is a complete distortion. At it's root, it was about payola in gaming 'journalism'. Someone who didn't know what the fuck GG was won't learn anything from that article.

And yeah, that Wikipedia description seems to really be saying this:

"Gamergate was a wrongthinking campaign, initially conducted through the use of the hashtag #GamerGate, that centered around wrongthink and wrongthink in video game culture."

(also notice how the "targeted" people listed are all "people of interest"?)

This came up in a music history censorship class I took in college (it was 3 or 400 level) . The whole class was white and none were Jewish so that's probably how the harpist Prof got away with discussing this so candidly.
She got in trouble for calling Renaissance word painting madrigal music "schizophrenic" tho.
However the music appreciation class for non music majors that just needed an arts class got a unit on recording companies history and publishing, who owns them, how they work, etc

Tipper Gore's bullshit on music censorship is cleverly hidden on her Wikipedia page
