Anime wishes it was as autistic and pervy as the Dune sequels.Ngl the part in the books where Paul transforms into a giant sandworm and ascends to godhood in the books was some pretty autistic anime tier shit.
This makes me want to see it adapted into film more than anything.Anime wishes it was as autistic and pervy as the Dune sequels.
Leto has the perfect autist trajectory: Be born in well-to-do family. Have sex with worm. Turn yourself into fat worm monster. Force everybody to endure your constant political ranting. Get sad and kill your girlfriend and yourself.
You've no idea what you are missing out when compared to the Judge Holden looking ass of the movies.1. Nothing being done with Baron Harkonnen.
The spider creature was meant as a setup for the Tleilaxu, a weird faction/race that created genetic experiments and are more important in later books. Piter was the only member of the Harkonnen camp with any creativity for man-made horrors and that was a plot line that the movie cut. It was theorised but not confirmed it was Wanna (the doctor's wife). The spider is a movie thing, doesn't happen in the books.Whatever happened to that spider creature we saw in the first film? Was it the wife of the Asian doctor who betrayed House Atriedes? I thought the Harkonnen's engaged in horrific experiments on humanoids and turned them into creatures like the spider thing. They should have explored this area more.
Yes. This is a movie only thing and is a reference to Lynch's movie. The metal spine works with the suspensors (why the Baron floats), he has it cuz he is fucking fat.2. Was Baron Harkonnen bathing in black sludge as part of a treatment to survive the poisoning of Duke Leto from the first film? Was the metal spine attachments also a result of that poisioning? No mention of this. Would have been good to see a scene where he speaks to Paul and blames Paul's father for his condition.
Bull fighting is a big symbolism in the book and no matador ever leaps into an arena with a bull that isn't a little bit handicapped. Feyd fights against slaves on a drug that overrides their self-preservation instinct, so there's a sport to it.3. Feyd-Rautha was supposedly fighting drugged prisoners for show on a regular basis? How does he become an elite fighter if that is the bulk of who he fights?
Changed moment from the books. The Harkonnens managed to kidnap Thuffir Hawat (the Atreides mentat) and force him to join them by poisoning him (the Piter contribution I mentioned earlier, they give him a temporary antidote if he complies). Hawat undermines them in many ways, one of them is getting a former Atreides soldier in the arena and faking that this guy is on the drug mentioned earlier (it turns your skin orange, so Hawat just painted him) meaning Feyd is going against a guy that won't just run to his knife. This wasn't intended as a test but Feyd used the situation to prove himself to The Baron and the Fenrings (the Count is the one that says the line the Baron says in the movie iirc). The Baron didn't know shit about it and this leads into his distrust of his own slavemaster.4. Baron Harkonnen decides to not drug one out of three prisoners, and this is supposed to be some big test of Feyd-Rautha? The guy who wasn't drugged, had been kept in poor conditions in a cell for who knows how long.
In the book Paul gets into a 'my life was ruined by them more' competition to get Gurney out of the way so he can fight Feyd. Gurney gets no action or closure because every other Harkonnen was killed before he arrived.5. Gurney Halleck's fight with Rabban was so quick and underwhelming, it may as well not happened. Did they just want to tick off a list of things to do in the film, and this one just got the bare essentials?
In the book they didn't travel to space. They just crashed sandworms and nukes on a natural fortification where they knew everyone that mattered was at because of the psychic link Paul has with his sister.6. How do the Fremen go to attack the other houses in space, when they have no ships and even if they stole the Emperor's ships, they wouldn't know how to use them?
The time scale of the movie is retarded. In the Lynch movie he tries to show that it’s over the course of years with Paul having kids with Channi, Alia being born, and Thufir being mentally broken by serving and scheming against the Harkonen.I've never read the books. I thought Part 1 was cool but Part 2 blowed.
The fremen think Lady Jessica is a spy, then five minutes later they made her their pope. Paul is Ray from Star Wars, he goes from a pussy to a military badass in only a few months. Austin Butler's character was filler nonsense that only pads the movies run time. The fremen who were depicted as desert dwellers in the first movie are suddenly winning an offensive war against a technologically superior enemy. Paul after proclaiming his love for Zendaya in both movies doesn't hesitate to cuck her for the Emperors daughter. The finale fight between Austin Butler and Paul was bad. And the movie ends on a cliffhanger which is also bad.
One of the things that kind of doesnt make any sense. Logically the houses have zero reason not to nuke Paul, spice be damned at that point.6. This makes even less sense seeing as how the movie changes the ending to put the Fremen starting their crusade for somewhat justifiable reasons; the houses refusing to accept Paul as Emperor after a lawful trial by combat. Also assuming they continue on with Messiah, I dont see how they write it so Paul and Chani end up back together for her to have a few kids(unless shes supposed to be already pregnant?) without it being very very retarded writing.

Its all fucking dumb and I wouldnt be surprised if we see in a year or two he was banging her so playing her up like that hack Watatti did with Tessa Thompson.
At least Tessa Thompson is pretty. Not exactly leading lady charismatic, but has a decent body. Zendaya has no sexual features. One of the things that kind of doesnt make any sense. Logically the houses have zero reason not to nuke Paul, spice be damned at that point.

tbf, it goes against all conventions of the Landraad to use family atomics against a human being. Paul got away with using atomics because he was using them against a natural wall. One of the things that kind of doesnt make any sense. I'm calling it. Irulan doesn't die a virgin with rage, which misses the whole point of her dichotomy with Chani.I dont see how they write it so Paul and Chani end up back together for her to have a few kids(unless shes supposed to be already pregnant?) without it being very very retarded writing.
No Thufir. No Count Fenring. Why the fuck should I pay for this shit? That’s the sting here, THEY FILMED SCENES WITH THUFIR.
I wasn't impressed with Thufir in Part 1 either. He was just sweaty fat guy in that movie and you never get the sense he's a mutant or even that great as a courtier.tbf, it goes against all conventions of the Landraad to use family atomics against a human being. Im talking about the way the movie ended. They know death is coming their way, they just saw the Emperor and his elite super troopers get annihilated. No reason to not use nukes to stop the Fremen/Paul at that point.tbf, it goes against all conventions of the Landraad to use family atomics against a human being.
