At least we didn't get more than the game pass multimedia filler content. I don't give a fuck about Forza, I think the engine for Halo Infinite looks alright, and that CD Projekt Red Cyberpunk 2077 was cool.

Oh and, anyone got Battletoads up for pre-order?

Decent conference. They showcased a lot of games and there were at least three of them that I'm genuinely excited for. So a 7/10 for me. Not bad.

Hopefully gameplay is going to show up for DMC5. The looks are a bit close to the reboot for my taste, and I need Itsuno to assuage my fears.

So Microsoft's conference was...Okay. Some of the stuff they showed was interesting. It was nice to see Gears 5.
I'm torn on Halo Infinite. As a massive Halo sperg seeing something new for Halo is always a plus. On the other hand even by E3 announcement trailer standards that shit told us nothing. Like for most of it I didn't even know WTF it was supposed to be.
Overall it was alright. Could have been worse.

They put on a great show, but the substance was as thin as every year. 7/10, you pass.

Ori is good, but it'll be on PC. Sekiro looks great. Fallout 76 has me interested. Crackdown 3: Oldspice Edition looks good. I never paid attention to it, do you play as Terry the whole game? I'd play that. I loved DMC 5's showing. I missed Cyberpunk cause I was making food. Also, on a boring day again, I WOULD probably try Tunic and Gears Pop. So..yeah. I like the idea of a Dying Light 2. I like zombies. Just Cause 4 looks cool.

That's my thoughts so far. KH3 is eh, Halo and Tales is milked to death. So, I give it a pass. It wasn't as shit as last year in my opinion.

I'm gonna go with the consensus and say Microsoft's was a 7/10 . Not a lot of Actual exclusives, but their acquisition of Ninja Theory could be interesting since they've always been one those studios I don't think ever had an actual break until Hellblade (Enslaved in vastly overlooked, and although people bitch about DmC, I really like the game, probably because I'm not a Devil May Cry fanatrd).

Also new announcements for Dying Light 2 and Just Cause 4 make me a happy camper.

Forza... never cared for Forza, but sure is pretty. Probably will get around to playing Gears5.

Halo Infinite is worrying. I really don't want another multiplayer MMO third person shooter (MMOTPS?), and that goes double for Division 2. Remember folks- never trust an Ubisoft trailer.

Oh and a new Battletoads? Sure, I'm feeling masochistic enough.

I wasn't a huge fan of GOW 4 so I'm not too interested in 5. I think taking the series away from the Locust war was a bad idea. I'm am interested in Tactics however and will need to keep an eye on it.

Yeah, its hard to say. So many of these trailers told us nothing, including what fucking console the games are coming out on. Is this Halo 6? Is the story from 4/5 being dropped? Is it linear or is it open world now? And of course I don't count multi-plat games when "scoring" a first party conference anyway. Is Battletoads going to be overly self-referential? Is it going to be from Rare? Is it even going to be Xbox/PC exclusive or is it mobile too? Because I could see it being mobile. And these "five new studios" are obviously not all created equal, some are big, some are small. Also, I think most of the first party stuff is not 2018? Like Halo is 2019 right? Gears, I assume, is too because we just got one like a year ago.

That said, I think this is the conference where Microsoft Game Studios announced for real that it is turning itself around. These new studios, plus things like Rare working on non-Kinnect stuff again, 343 perhaps unfucking itself, etc. are building a strong base to fill up those spaces left by the studio closures and staff departures of the late 360/early One era. The gamepass and learning AI stuff is a little beyond my comprehension but its not bad, its stuff that can help if they pull it off.

I give it a 7/10. Thats the best I've given Microsoft in like a decade. Hopefully the decisions they've made and lessons they've learned prove valuable to them when launching Xbox Y in 2022.

The cyberpunk 2077 trailer was meh IMHO,more like a Ready player One game than Cyberpunk

It it ain't dark and/or rainy, it ain't cyberpunk. Those CD Projekt pollacks need to re-watch their Akira, Ghost in the Shell and Blade Runner. The city in that trailer just looks like a dingier, more futuristic Hong Kong.

Pretty sure the only reason a new Battletoads is being released is due to the vast quantities of mayme magic permeating absolutely fucking everything for the past year and a half
They tried to pitch one after the Microsoft buyout 15 years ago. These days, yeah probably meme content. They even reference crashing the bikes in the trailer. My worry, based on what little graphics we saw, is that its going to be cheap mobile trash. Which, to be fair, is sort of like what the old games were like, but some things really should just stay in the past.

A little hyped for Just Cause 4, but I am worried about them pussing out with the generic PMC villains instead of innocent third worlders and of course the general disappointment surrounding JC3.
