I've wanted to get into EDF but have no idea what game I should try first.
There are 5 mainline games (so far) and a few spin-offs (which are developed by different studios, not D3 Publisher).
For starters I would recommend either 4.1 or 5, the former is cheaper to buy on Steam and it has a better/faster pace in terms of missions than the latter, so I'd recommend that one if you're unsure of the franchise at first. However the sequel has a bunch of QoL improvements that really does improve the gameplay overall, and the giant ayys are really an interesting bunch to fight.

Spin-offs are a mixed bunch. The sole decent one so far is the recent World Brothers but it's more an anniversary crossover with voxel graphics where all the established EDF characters (plus OCs that are caricatures of various countries: Tacos Brother is mexican, Commando Brother is an australian koala, Prince Brother is an arabic bomber, etc) who work together against the big alliance of aliens. It plays more or less the same as the regular EDF with some twists on its own (you play a squad of 4 members, each character has its own set of ability and super skill). I'd recommend that one more during a sale since it's a bit short to finish the main campaign and the DLC mission set only adds a mere ten more.

tl;dr EDF5 is the "better" game but 4.1 is also very good and much cheaper (16 eurobucks) to get into for newcomers

EDIT: Forget to say that you shouldn't bother with the DLC weapons as their strength levels are really low and become quickly useless the further you play. With the sole exception of the anime Decoy Launchers which can give some breath room in specific situations but that's it.

If bethesda even has a seperate show they are going to show ES6: skyrim 2 and everyone will whip out their cocks and everyone will forget all the bad,

Sony is skipping E3.
They just dont have games to show...

Well M$ owns the better fall ot team too. maybe they grow a brain and let their FPS studio design the engine while their RPG team starts writting the game.
just keep those retardes from bethesda away from it-

I miss the days from 15-20 years ago when a big game would be announced at E3 and it would be released within 6-18 months. Things are announced way too early these days. I remember thinking that the time that elapsed between Final Fantasy XIII’s announcement and release (May 2006-early 2010 in the US) was exceptionally long, but the Final Fantasy VII Remake eclipsed even that. And that’s not even factoring in how many years a game is previewed that all of the surprise has been sucked away by the time it’s released.
Like Dead Island 2, cool debut trailer at E3 2014, 7 years later the game is a no show.

Pour one out for all my booth babe homies that lost their jobs.
Was the chick dressed as Cammy, complete with thong, that Capcom hired to promote Street Fighter V at E3 2015 the last E3 booth babe?

I remember EGM used to mock the booth babes as idiots, that's actual sexism I can't get behind, but there's literally nothing wrong with attractive women getting a job to dress up and promote something, feminists taking that away from them is just a different flavor sexism.

Back when I was a kid and E3 coincided with the start of summer break E3 was like Christmas. Seems very dumb looking back but it was a simpler, more innocent time.
You comparing it to Christmas is very apt, one of the last times I can remember being as excited as I would get as a kid on Christmas day was when I saw the debut trailer for Metal Gear Solid 3 at E3 2003 on X-Play, I was 13 years old and I just absolutely flipped out.

It was also so incredibly exciting in 2005 when the PS3 and 360 made their debut, never since have new console debuts made me as excited, remember when we truly thought the future of gaming was going to be the most amazing thing we had ever seen? Back before the greed, before the Woke.

Or like... you know... cyber punk
Heh, of course.
