Vyse, I just figured out how Nintendo can win e3 and not by skirting the already low ass bar. They needa slap SEGA with enough money for a remaster or at least port of Skies of Arcadia Legends,
soa remaster rumor.JPG

Dunno about the veracity of this (said back in March) but I'm not fucking seeing it, you asshole Psyduck. Tales of Arise was revealed, but it isn't coming to GamePass. I desperately want to believe, but I've been so used to being let down when it comes to SOA that I'm only gonna believe it when I see it

E3 2021 in a nutshell:

This is what we all deserve for tolerating and buying this shit for years if not decades for some of us. We're all to blame.
Ironically, I considered E3 a success when Mario + Rabbids got a sequel, and I didn't expect that to ever be anything but a one-off.

The bar is so low for me that exactly one game I'm interested in is enough to qualify an E3 as good. I honestly can not remember jack shit about E3 last year other than Goodbye Volcano High and how ridiculous it looked, considering it was in promo for the upcoming PlayStation 5 at a conference they called something like "The Future of Gaming".

It's sad that the only Capcom franchises that started in the late 90s and early to mid 2000s that are still going is Resident Evil and Devil May Cry, I mean don't get me wrong I love those series, but Onimusha is dead, Dino Crisis is dead, even Dead Rising is... dead, it'd be nice to have at least one other franchise of that era come back.
Viewtiful Joe is another one that's dead, as well as Okami, however Phoenix Wright is still going, so there's 3 Capcom franchises of that era that's still going, I thought I was forgetting one, but my point still stands that there's too many good ips going unused.

To say nothing of ones that didn't manage to get any sequels at all like Shadow of Rome, Haunting Ground and God Hand.

Just now catching up on the Queer Enix show and holy fuck does Babylons Fall look terrible. I'm calling it now Platinum is going bankrupt in the next 5 years and Kamiya will be blocking people on twitter for nickles next to a bus stop while begging Mikami or Capcom to give him a job.
Yeah, something about Babylons Fall just looks really bland and boring.

...you do realize John McCain ran in 2008 right?
Oh shit, wrong race.

And that is just even worse it means we have to live through 2 years of Bush..McCain Running and Romney Running and 8 years of Ongobongo.

you are not making this scenario better.

Oh wow, the skateboard game devs found out how to turn the character and screen movement around. What a fucking sham.

Nah we can go deeper, however it's just easier to recycle for an inferior but still profitable product.
Unironically there are plenty of games you could clone from that lend themselves to making an original product. These hacks are just too busy churning out the same shit. Here's just three random ideas off the top of my head.

  • Very few competitors to 3D Sonic exist, and they're all fangames. Nobody has looked at 3D Sonic from all eras and tried to dissect what works and what doesn't.
  • Miitopia on switch definitely fills a niche for actually quirky (not "quirky") rpgs that have a create your own cast feature, and this could definitely be expanded into a full fledged rpg compared to the RPG-lite that Miitopia is.
  • Does a shooter combined with a platformer exist? At least that'd be a new/fresher take on a shooter.
