Retro "collectors" on suicide watch.Popful Mail
Bitchin' oh wait jap, FUCK. There's no way Popful Mail's gonna make the cut since it's probably one of those games with rights issues, the US publisher shut down and the owner did a houdini after their last game shipped. That also means the two lunar games are out, I HOPE they're considering Snatcher or Lords of Thunder for this thing, because their options for good games are gonna be seriously limited.Confirmed games on The Genesis 2:
Keep in mind this is all on a japan stream so the USA/EU version might be different

Normally I don't like the exaggerated "worst conference ever!" hyperbole from the internet during E3, but that Sega show was literally just the Mega Drive mini, and then someone playing games on it for 90 minutes.
It's the same reason why RYU is "hot" now.On the topic of Street Fighter 6, I'm noticing a weird trend. Of the people who have commented on the Chun-Li redesigns so far, most people seem to dislike or be indifferent to the new design, but the same kinds of people who thirst for Abby and Aloy (Last of Us 2 and Horizon) claim to love the new design.
You can say that RE4 Remake is a PS5 exclusive much like RE4 being a Gamecube exclusive. It's not. Just the typical marketing rights shit. Capcom doesn't really do exclusives anymore outside of stuff for the Switch since it's the only handheld around.

Mega Drive in general, was more sucessful in the US than Japan, which is why SEGA dedicated the US branch to keep the damn thing alive, especially with the addons. The idea was that the Mega Drive would be the "family" gaming system while the upcoming Saturn would be the "HARDCORE EPIC GAMERZ" machine. Was the Mega Drive even that big in Japan? I thought Sega was more known for their arcade stuff over there but I admittedly have very little clue into Sega.
Are mini consoles even big in Japan? I always figured that was something bigger over here for the nostalgia crowd...
Cottagecore. Fairycore. Farmcore. Now we have Armoredcore.Only thing I'm hoping for is maybe some news on a new Armored Core from Fromsoft.
The Mini (well the good one, there are many AtGames versions prior) did well enough but what really killed momentum for further mini consoles is the fact that parts are not easy to source because even Raspberry Pis have shot up in price. The PC Engine/TG 16 Mini was the last of consoles released before corona fucked it all up.Mega Drive in general, was more sucessful in the US than Japan, which is why SEGA dedicated the US branch to keep the damn thing alive, especially with the addons. Regarding the mini, I can't find exact sales numbers (not even on wikipedia) but the general consensus is that it sold like crack cocaine in japan.
