Good Morning

SEGA's stream is live now

They just announced a Genesis Mini 2, now with Sega CD games
>another fucking Genesis/Mega Drive collection
>US set list not even revealed yet
>Sega CD games are the good ones BUT they will never make the leap over here

This is why you failed as a console manufacturer, SEGA: a complete inability or unwillingness to read the fucking room.
Was the Mega Drive even that big in Japan?
Mega Drive in general, was more sucessful in the US than Japan, which is why SEGA dedicated the US branch to keep the damn thing alive, especially with the addons. The idea was that the Mega Drive would be the "family" gaming system while the upcoming Saturn would be the "HARDCORE EPIC GAMERZ" machine.

Regarding the mini, I can't find exact sales numbers (not even on wikipedia) but the general consensus is that it sold like crack cocaine in japan.
To further elucidate on @SSF2T Old User's post above: the original Mega Drive was actually dead last in Japan, behind the Super Famicom (SNES) and the PC Engine (TurboGrafx-16). Why they keep milking it so much, beyond pandering to 'Murican and Europoor millennials, is beyond me.

Has Ubisoft done their little song and dance at this dead event yet? If not, what day is it that they won't be announcing another Splinter Cell, so I know what day will mark my 7th consecutive year of disappointment?

7 because I gave them a couple of years of cushion after Blacklist because I didn't want the franchise to turn into another annual release.

Well, both Sony and Sega sucked. Which developer is up next to disappoint?
Limited Run games on June 6th

Haven't seen their name brough up, even in the summer games linup.

Ubisoft's not doing a presentation this year.

add that it got released after the PC Engine and before the SNES and even then could not even make a dent in Japan, in the west it managed to get a niche because NOA was very stubborn about bringing the Super famicom to the west so Sega just dabbed on them with Sonic to boot, but that lasted until the SNES was released

Konami is busy right now killing Bomberman because no one cares about it anymore (and because ironically they killed it sideway by making the coomer bait version much better)

>coomer bait Bomber Man
Excuse me, what?

You were warned

Reading the interview to Okunari on Famitsu apparently the Saturn and the Dreamcast mini were considered but Sega said it was to expensive to produce, the mega drive mini 2 will come with waaaaaay more games than the 1 to justify the lame run its going to have because they dont have parts available, it will also come with a switch to the audio to be like the MD1 or the MD2, Sega also has been working in their own MCD emulation (even when you can even do it on FPGA)

If you can throw God knows how much money on a billion Sonic and Yakuza games, you can spend a few bucks getting good Saturn and Dreamcast emulators and slapping ROMs on them. READ. THE. GODDAMN. ROOM.

Is more lazyness that anything else, but i would admit, i would not want to the programmer of the Saturn mini considering how fucking awful and obtuse the hardware was that even after all this years the emulation is very iffy

Can confirm. Tested out Saturn Emulation on Mednafen, it has spotty runtimes on certain games (mostly 3D ones, but even 2D ones like Rayman has issues), but that's mostly due to the fact that it needs a QUAD core processor to have it run perfectly. (e.g. quad-core Intel Haswell CPU with a base frequency of >= 3.3GHz and a turbo frequency of >= 3.7GHz (such as a Xeon E3-1226 v3 or i5-4590))

For a greater detail on Saturn specs, go here

Outside of Mednafen, Kronos seems to be the other "recommended" emulator.

Does anyone actually remember an "E3" that wasn't disappointing in the past 12-15 years?
Define disappointing. Does this include all companies or the majority as Nintendo has easily carried most E3s. I guess 2016 was probably the last fully disappointing one.
