E3 (but not really) 2022

So the developers were not competent enough to make their own player-physics and had to steal Nintendo's time-tested and successful code for the foundation of their game. They opted not to do the hardest part.

That builds confidence.
By your logic, Mario Maker wouldn't sell as well as it has.
It was the best-selling game in Japan during its first two weeks of release, selling 279,357 physical copies. By the end of March 2021, the game had sold over 7.15 million copies worldwide, making it one of the best-selling games on the Switch.
Also, overhauling the graphics in the engine to the extent that Sicari has would be a pretty challenging task in and of itself.

Mario 3/World has great physics and a dedicated ROM community, it's a fan game so of course its not going to be as under-the-hood original as a professional product. Not that professional products aren't made piecemeal out of other people's code anyways these days.

Also to the Mario Maker guy above, those games only use NSMB physics, no matter which graphical style you choose, which is part of why the ROM community still exists.

Platformer physics and true sprite-based graphics are a lost art. I haven't seen a really good one since Mania, and that was an island in an empty sea, itself.

E3 Will Return In 2023, Assures ESA President

It's June, which means we should be celebrating E3 right now. But we're not, as it was cancelled for the second time in three years back in February. That doesn't mean we're not getting any video game news though, as we're being fed a glutton of gaming presentations, spearheaded by Geoff Keighley's Summer Game Fest. This year, perhaps more than ever, many speculated that E3 2022's cancellation marks the beginning of the end for the hugely popular convention, but the president of the show's parent company, ESA, has said otherwise.

In an interview with The Washington Post, the ESA's Stan Pierre-Louis stated that “We’re excited about coming back in 2023 with both a digital and an in-person event. As much as we love these digital events, and as much as they reach people and we want that global reach, we also know that there’s a really strong desire for people to convene — to be able to connect in person and see each other and talk about what makes games great.” While Keighley's event includes both a (small) in-person event in Los Angeles and a digital showcase, Pierre-Louis wants to keep things traditional. E3 has been an in-person media event since 1995, and he wants to keep this the same while acknowledging that this new era of digital showcases is all about "experimentation" so that companies work out how best to sell their products:

I think there is a space for a physical show; I think there’s an importance of having digital reach. Combining those two, I think there is a critical element of what we think E3 can provide.
E3 hasn't been in-person since 2019, with the last E3 show in 2021 being digital-only. The ESA cancelled the convention in 2020, too. If the show is to return next year, we'll let you know the dates as soon as we have them.

The desperation just oozing from that article indicates E3 2023's going to be a shitshow, E3 2024 is going to be canceled, and the whole thing'll be shuttered by '25.

Somehow, I can't see this as a bad thing whatsoever. E3's time was long overdue to come to an end.
Frankly, the writing's been on the wall ever since the start of Nintendo Directs, which date back to... jeez, 2011? Like, there's certainly value to getting people together at a conference to see all the new unveilings and demo new games, but the major platform holders could just do it all on their own now. I really liked how Sony held their E3 conferences in movie theaters for several years, I went to all of those and got a nice little gift bag with some posters and free PSN credit. It was a lot of fun, lots of people attended and I had a nice time with my friends. More of that kind of thing, please. Or maybe work with the likes of major game conventions like PAX and Rainfurrest, like what indies have been doing for a while.

Honestly, is there even anything that could be announced that anyone would give a shit about?

so E3's been doomed since around the time booth babes were eliminated I think? boy that is one strange and inexplicable coincidence for sure

Oh man, I just watched the trailer and its throwing off some real Freedom Planet vibes. Here's hoping for a good game with a really cringey tumblr-tier story.
That's pretty much what the first game was.
Thousands of years ago, there was a war between the Gods of creation. Due to its effect on the mortal plane, the Gods were forced to punish themselves - to prevent such a thing from happening again. As such, they were all but cut off from the mortal world, with little to no influence, leading humanity to lose their faith. However, one group survived the thousands of years that passed after the war - the Sanguis vampire family. Their goal across those millennia was to undo the binding that their patron deity, Niscura was under. They wanted the Goddess of Dimensions and Shadow to be free again...

...and they succeeded.
The edgy story actually added to its charm, at least IMHO.

Capcom is doing theiw own thing now

And for anyone that cares, another Sonic thing tomorrow
> Capcom shows off a bunch of stuff we already have seen. Show ends with with Street Fighter 6.
> Street Fighter 6 gameplay is shown when suddenly Ryu is knocked out of the ring.
> Screen goes black as a faint light shines in the distance. Ryu gets up and starts moving towards it.
> "Ryu the Illuminati has summoned you. Please get ready to face James Howlett."
> Crowd goes wild as Wolverine appears
> Ryu and Wolverine go in for blows, when bam! Marvel Vs. Capcom: Multiversal Madness.

Considering that Sony owns Evo and has exclusivity deals with Disney, we're legally the closest we've been to a new MVC game in quite awhile. At the very least they could pull Street Fighter vs The Spidermen (instead of the X-Men).

Mario Maker is made by Nintendo you dumb fucking nigger faggot retard sucking bait licking cum searching cunny appreciating autist.
It's canon that Mario has multiple bastard children because Peach won't put out. The Giana Sisters were two of the more well known ones.
