EA tells Kyle Rittenhouse his name could cause ‘harm’ - EA Games. Challenge Everything

I'm assuming EA didn't realise it was actually Kyle, and that they will overturn the moderation decision. It's one thing to tell other people not to use that name (even if the reasons are eyeroll worthy) another thing to tell someone, for any reason, they can't use their own fucking name.

They've done it numerous times in the past. Usually it's for names with "teehees" in them like dick or something, although some guy got banned because his name is a slur in Ireland lmao. If they stand by their past actions they'll absolutely make him change it

You know how many "2pac69420s" there are? He shot actual cops. I guess black lives do matter

Sure, but its his actual name. I'd love to get a transcript of how things go down with customer service if he tries to keep it. "Sir, your username violates our standards." "Why? Its my name." "No, sir, its your user name and it violates our standards" "No, I'm Kyle Rittenhouse." "Yes, that username is..." "No, I'm actually named Kyle Rittenhouse. Would you like to see my friend's M&P I went shooting with? I have some pictures on Instagram. You can go look me up at 4doorsmorewhores." "Ah, I believe there's been a misunderstanding with things then, sir. Have a nice day."
I understand it's his name. Why use your REAL NAME as an username in the first place?

Why not? A lot of people do. And Governments across the world cream themselves at the prospect of making people identify themselves online. YouTube was even going to do it.

That's all irrelevant though, imagine a company telling you to change YOUR ACTUAL NAME because it offends snowflakes PLAYING WARGAMES? What a bunch of faggots. I'd change my name to Kyle3for3
Okay, change your Kiwi Farms tag to your real name then.

Is this a retarded attempt at a "gotcha nerd"? You're comparing Steam to Kiwifarms? Why not compare it to linkedin, where tens of thousands of people use their realname? You stupid bitch lol. Also ignoring the fact that most Steam accounts are already directly linked to your real name

LinkedIN, a social media platform used to connect your professional self to jobs and careers, is the same as making an username on a gaming platform or forum.

Okay.

If you pay a bit more attention to the picture, it says violation Steam PC. Which I believe the guy using Kyle Rittenhouse as his Steam username, then EA Origins automatically applies that name to his EA owned games.

The reason why I think this because I have "A" as name on Origins launcher when Apex wasn't on Steam yet. After I switch to Steam, then Apex uses my Steam name instead of "A".

Online privacy doesn't seem to be valued quite as much by people around Kyle's age and younger. Blame Facebook for normalizing that.
I know people online not much older than Kyle and not a single one uses their real name. Nobody I knew when I was Kyle's age used their real name either. That's shit your parents do for their email or Facebook (which hasn't been cool since Obama was first elected), and real names are for lame shit like school. When you're on Steam or wherever, you aren't "John Smith Jr." anymore, you're "XxKingOfDaGame420xX".

That's why this strikes me as a PR move and not an issue Kyle actually had to deal with.

While I supported Kyle in court, he's done nothing to convince me he isn't retarded in the following weeks.

Dude needs to fuck off into obscurity. This shit reeks of buffoonery or attention whoring.
>Fuck off into obscurity
>Journoscum is still writing articles like "He should be Guilty" or "He killed black men"

Kyle will never get rid of the "Kenosha Kid" or his K/D ratio.

All thanks to journos who intentionally lie about what happened or why it happened.

Kid should sue everyone for defamation and get enough FuckYou money to live out in obscurity.

You think he named his account Kyle Rittenhouse, in the hope he would get banned for it so that he could then go and spin it as PR?

If it was his name INSIDE his account details (like when you make an account, you put your first, last name, email, address, etc) that'd be one thing.

Yeah, I see this as PR.
