I think an electrical or plumbing certification would be the way to go. I don't know what this IT career he's describing even is or is trying to be. And that's fine! Honestly good for him for posting the resume at all and attempting to make improvements. But let's get serious now bro you can't be a non-contributing zero for another 2 years, that's hell. Become monomaniacaly obsessed with learning a valuable skill, something people are eager to pay you for, something that you wouldn't struggle to describe on a resume, and then go do that skill.
If he was able to say "I learned to physically set up and wire and then configure a network for small and medium sized companies and then provide them with maintenance and support" that'd be one thing.

Even being able to say "I could configure Linux Mint for use by desktop/laptop users switching from Windows/Mac using layouts and compatability layers to facilitate client ease of use and transition from their old work flow, and provide ongoing support" would be a good and specific side skill.

Though the current best and understood application of Linux is servers, maybe learn that.

Go home guys, it's over.
Nothing happened, and still won't happen in 2026.

Never understood that “career objective” shit. It’s pointless and takes up space.
Depends on the job, the HR, the software they use (some software will literally auto delete your resume instantly so nobody even sees it, even if the CEO is about to personally suck off people DESPERATE for ANY employees. I've seen this happen where the CEO has a gun in his mouth over being unable to find people while people are applying in droves with experience and complaining they can't get the job, its dumb.).

Unfortunately knowing who has what is a pain. But embellishing its true, one of my last jobs asked for "5 years machining experience" or something like that, and I had 2, but I never had it be an issue.

Thats the problem is a lot of them simply WILL throw shit out BECAUSE OF (insert 1000 reasons) but once you get the job the standards almost disappear sometimes.

So... who won?
Trump-Republicans and Justice dems; Boomer Rinos and Clintonians are now dis-empowered for good. Welcome to the Millenial age of politics in the USA; for the next few years its going from Neo-Cons vs. New/Neo-Libs to neo-reactionaries vs. communists; with my bet still being the latter slowly devolving into left leaning lolbertarians for the GenX and Millenial stoner vote

Additionally does anyone know what other long term foods there are not filled with junk ingredients besides pasta and pasta sauce?
Is there any good foods for canning that have a long term (at least 2 year) shelf life?
rice is cool so i have been told personally i hate rice but there are plenty of ways to cook it so its pretty flexible. as far as canning fruits are always great for canning especially peaches and apples. tomatos are good and you can even toss in some extra herbs and spices and have a really nice pasta sauce. i get ideas sometimes by watching steve1989 on youtube he does MRE reviews and makes his own sometimes. watching enough of those videos gives you a pretty good idea what is and isnt meant to last. also never rule out freezing things.

i remember reading somewhere that some places make requirements way higher than what they actually want because they know it will scare away people.

One should look at a job listing kind of like a Tinder wishlist. Sure, it would be great if Mr. Average guy could find a 10/10 hottie with D-cups who likes anime and sports ball, but when it comes down to the nut-cutting, he'll settle for a 5/10 with B cups who likes Disney movies and knitting, because he'd rather have SOMEONE on his arm come Friday night.

Employers are like this too; they describe their ideal, perfect employee, and always, always settle for less. Don't let the "40 years of experience and Ph.d in the field" intimidate you, they'll usually settle for SOME experience and a smaller degree or certificate (depending on the job, obviously you won't be hired as a surgeon if you don't have the right credentials). For instance, I once saw a job advertised for a COPY MACHINE SALESMAN that was requiring a bachelor's degree; I'm pretty sure whoever they hired didn't have a BA, but did have some sort of sales experience.

Respectfully Disagree, But I Still Love You

We've reached a point in corporate America where there is literally zero reason to settle for less than absolute perfection (on paper), for a very simple reason. There's a 0.0000001% chance that HR will face consequences for hiring the wrong person, but an absolute 0% chance that they will face consequences for not hiring anybody. Who cares if the department is understaffed and overworked? Not an HR problem. Just work harder, slaves! We're still looking for "the right fit". Deal with it.

Therefore, the rational choice for HR is to hold out for their interpretation of a perfect employee. Or just refuse to hire anyone period. There is literally zero reason not to.

So... who won?
Certainly not anyone who isn't rich.

People on SNAP and welfare who vote Republican are legitimately the most retarded people on the planet. That includes those of you posting in this thread. You are so fucking retarded that you voted to make yourself starve because you thought that black people would starve, too.

And the same MAGAloids who were throwing tantrums about the "Great Reset" a year ago are now saying you'll be poor, you'll own nothing, and you'll like it.

I doubt we'll ever get a full year of government funding. so maybe a government shutdown every couple of months. they won't be as long as this one, a week or two at worst, but they'll keep happening until 2028.
