You aren't going to get any level of pity out of me for EBT being gone because I grew up around and have interacted with EBTers I know the games they play to maximize their Gibs.

The government shutdown caused a lot of nonessential services to be defunded. Apparently, EBT is one of those nonessential services.

Darn, a month after I applied too :story:was hoping to use them to close the gap between some bills since I've been stuck between checks for forever now lol. Probably wouldn't have qualified working full time anyway, oh well.
 
This sucks. Before Trump's first term came in and fucked up the requirements, I had EBT during a stint of unemployment and it kept my family afloat when unemployment wages barely covered the bills. Fucking with people's food is going to be the tipping point.

I have been homeless and relied on food stamps in the past. If you’re a farmer who relies on food stamps, please seek out the local food bank. It’ll likely be slim pickings, but take what you can get.

If you’ve got a few bucks, I can offer some hearty and relatively cheap meal options that should last a couple of days. I lived off of beef Rice-a-Roni and ground beef for quite some time. You can get a box of the rice for a little under two dollars most of the time, and a pound of ground beef for under ten. Alternatively, you can buy a can of corn beef hash. Should make a few servings. Hit up Taco Bell or Chick-Fil-A if you need some sauces.

I wasn't sure if it was genuine or if he was doing a bit, but I got a chuckle out of it. The sad thing is that I know people that are just as loud and entitled when it comes to their tugboats. :tugboat:
