Again, it's the same pro illegals argument all over again, the rich fucks ARE the ones who gain the most out of this programs due to allowing them to pay minimum wage, while the middle class are the ones getting taking advantage of. this is why i believe there should be some form of government jobs you can do only while getting any form of government assistance. nothing major but maybe you can get a job where you can sit at home and do surveys or check government websites for flaws. or whatever. just very small pointless busy work type jobs that you dont even need a high school degree to do but can still be used as references in the future and will help you get actual better jobs.

Every day i am thankful I live in a transit friendly walkable area, near a job center. Automobile dependency really hurts people especially younger people trying to enter the job market. You can't get a job if there is no way to get to a job.

I feel like that's the biggest issue. The people actually harmed by this won't be the chimps, they'll just chimp out until they get what they want either by ganging up to strong arm store owners or killing and robbing them en masse. It won't be the troons, they'll just find a rich kid to molest for money like Epstein did. It will be the people who are honest and actually need it, and the stores that try to cater to them. Rule 34/35 46 and 63 of the internet exists because there's a porn market for everything. But depending on which state you're in that most likely won't be an option either. Besides, the porn market was never good money. If it was teachers wouldn't get fired from teaching for selling feet pics. They'd just quit because they were making so much money selling feet pics. The idea that welfare is a subsidy to businesses is a fallacy. Its actually a net negative. Many entry level cashier positions and so on at convenience stores and retail stores are going unfilled because while they are low paying, they are paid well enough to price anyone who takes the job out of their benefits. Worse, depending on their level pf benefits, these people actually make more money by NOT working.

Its been a disaster for the labor market. When these people make Tik Tok's saying you have to be stupid to work, they arent wrong. Everyone working is paying for these people not to work.

If you can't feed yourself you literally do not deserve to live. You deserve to starve. I've been homeless before and I managed to feed myself. You wanna not starve? Eat cheap food, which coincidentally is much more healthy than fuckin cheetos. Get a pound of lentils for $1.25, some hamhocks for $3-4, some beef boullion cubes for 1-2 bucks and some onions for 50 cents. It makes a delicious soup that gets better when reheated. You want some free money? Check the dumpsters at construction sites, plumbers and HVAC guys throw out tons of copper and metal you could recycle and make money from. Pick up beer cans. Or here's a REAL FUN tip! Find whatever company is doing the framing, drywall, tile, or roofing for that construction site. Apply for them, no experience required. Then call ICE and report those sites because almost every single one is a fucking illegal spic. There you go, a bunch of open jobs. And if they ghost you just keep calling ICE and make it known you'll keep doing it to punish them for not hiring you.

Edit: There's also a chance the company will try to bribe you to stop reporting them, at which point you could just take the bribe and then keep reporting them for lolz.

Pretty much, yeah. While the program does benefit a few poor people, like all centralized communist economic plans the effects are complicated and mostly bad: it provides a disincentive to working (the more you work the less EBT you're eligible for), subsidizes bad family planning, and encourages the wage-to-costofliving ratio to remain artificially low. Also, it was a bit of a farce, as when I lived in the city, most of the people I knew who were on it would use their EBT to buy cigarettes or lotto tickets (SECRET TRICK: you buy something small on EBT, say a candy bar and a pack of sodas, then ask for "cash back". If the store is Indian enough, they'll do the "cash back" on your EBT at a rate that favours them, like say thirty cents to the dollar, and then you can use the money they hand you to "oh yeah and a pack of Marlb Reds, cuz")

Again, sucks because some people really DO use EBT for food, but if you're a working mom with a mortgage to pay you're probably only getting twenty bucks a month, if that.

The good news is, there are so many food banks and alternative avenues to get meals that I really doubt anyone's going to literally starve. Even for the homeless, food is the one thing that's not hard to come by in America.

Bad news is, now we don't get to debate the ethics of reforming EBT to exclude junk food. (My guess is that the plan is to eventually "New Coke" EBT and bring it back, minus the stuff Republicans wanted to get rid of in the first place. Dems can say they saved EBT, Reps get what they wanted originally.)

You have sort of just said what I said.

Welfare allows people to work part time. There are even people in this thread saying they use EBT but are also employed. It allows for a deficient level of employment. Gaps in hiring at the lowest level are to be expected when there is little commitment from either the employer or employee to some job. Being a cashier is gay, the employer treats it with little respect, and the employee has little loyalty to the job for that reason. Subsequently employers whine that they can't find anyone of any quality, when really their hiring managers are retarded, their workplace is chaotic and unpleasant, they offer minimal training and maximal criticism, and a wage that is barely better than not working and taking benefits. This whining by businesses turns into lobbying for immigration, to get immigrants to fill those employment gaps because they are more desperate than the low wage american worker.

If both welfare and migration were removed, business would need to adapt to hiring local wagies, and also selling their product to them at market rate. The problem we have now is that there is so much perversion in the market from government debt, in the short term it would cause very unpleasant things to happen to prices, I imagine. Also probably many of the fake office jobs that have been distributing fake money throughout the upper middle class (im looking at you tech workers, insurance brokers, accountants, lawyers, REALTORS yuck etc etc etc) would have to come to an end, which would make a lot of lazy and comfortable people very unhappy.

Different people are going to judge you for doing literally anything. The solution shouldn't be to just have no standards and let people do anything they want with tax money. It's not asking much for people who get free money for food to spend it on food instead of processed, fortified, reconstituted, flavored corn syrup that just speeds up their heart disease. This stuff is not food. It drives me insane seeing huge bags of Halloween candy here being marked with "accepts EBT". Though I just noticed whey is eligible for food stamps, so maybe it's not all that bad.

Yep. And I always prefer doing dollars to stuff. It can buy a lot of rice, but if you want meat that's roughly 20 pounds of chicken. 40 dozen eggs. 10 pounds of pork. 2 pounds of steak. It can also be 1 phone bill and a single family trip to McDonalds. An internet bill... You see how it's not a lot of money. It's basically like the mom from child's play going to a homeless man to buy her kid a Christmas present that he really wanted kinda job. People don't do it because they want to. It's either, they have to, or they want to make their kid's day special. The global economy sucks because of mass oversaturation.
