A long, long time ago the Congress used to compromise and make deals to pass legislation. This was a period that ended in the mid 1990's by Newt "fat useless retard" Genwich. His "just say no" has stalled every congress since.
The GOP is currently in control of both chambers so passing a budget should be easy. They are instead trying to further bankrupt American's for their rich buddies (the ones they just bailed out in Argentina with that fancy $40 billion tax-payer dollars.) Instead of working on a compromise they've been spending the last few weeks trying to spin this on the democratic party. Thats not really a fair explanation and its standard GOP tactics.
They don't seem to be working as recent polling shows Americans are blaming the GOP for the shutdown.
Remember, this isn't them "passing a budget." That's a different process. They don't like that process becuase they're forced to stick to it and cannot spend more until the next time a budget comes up, and in the ~4 years between budgets that's literally trillions of dollars in extra spending they could have.
This is a "continuing resolution" bill. Literally a "we can't pass a budget right now because reasons, so we're just going to agree to keep going at X amount of funding until we can pass a budget later on." IIRC, they haven't passed an actual budget since the Clinton era.
They do this explicitly so they can add infinity amounts of shit to the budget, blackmail themselves into giving themselves stuff they couldn't pass otherwise, et cetera. It's all kabuki theater where the other side is SUPPOSED to PRETEND to fight it but then capitulate. Trump was NEVER supposed to refuse to give them the infinite free healthcare for illegals that they're refusing to add to the not-a-budget.
It's in this regard that Fetterman is pissing on the third rail by suggesting they end the supermajority required to get past this process. The entire point is it allows the uniparty to blackmail the uniparty until the uniparty capitulates to the uniparty's demands for what the uniparty really wants to do but couldn't pass as a real bill.
Man, the more I see people's reactions to all this the more I realize that welfare for the niggers is really just paying off the Mongol hordes with gold so they don't ride in and lay waste to your cities and crops.
When a nation doesn't have the resolve to eliminate a problem and settle on appeasement this is the inevitable result.
The term is "Dane-geld." From a Kipling poem (same guy who wrote the "English began to hate" poem IIRC):

We're seeing it with the "Nigger-geld" now. You pay niggers to be fat lazy retarded subhumans under the promise that they won't riot and chimp out
as much, and that's good because the left screeches like autistic howler monkeys if you even suggest taking it away, and honestly it's just so
tiresome to have the fight. But it doesn't make the niggers better. It doesn't make the left suggest not spending more of other people's money on stupid shit. They're still fucking niggers. They're still fucking commies. All it does is subsidize more niggers and commies and embolden them.
And worse still,
you still eventually have to have the fucking fight. You do nothing but kick the can down the road to someone else, preferably not you. It's the boomer mindset writ large.
