I stocked up on some items for the pantry from Sam's earlier. There was a state trooper camping out at the entrance. Nearly everyone had toilet paper and/or paper towels in his cart aside from me. I couldn't find bags of dry pinto beans there which was a bummer so I went with jasmine rice.
Thanks for making me look that shit up by the way, now I have a CZ-82 and a Star 30M on order because they were a good price and the collection must grow.
Nice. I've got a Hellcat Pro on the way.

I know we subsidize them, but if all the corn funds went towards meat then meat prices would drop significantly due to more farms and thus more production.
Factory farmed animals primarily eat corn - dropping corn subsidies would just increase their operating costs. Meat production is actually obscenely inefficient compared to other agricultural industries - it's incredibly water and land intensive and 90% of soy production just goes towards animal feed.

The government should not attempt to regulate the price of anything and farming subsidies (like all production subsidies) should only exist to guarantee the strategic availability of a resource which it would not otherwise be worthwhile to produce in the quantity we expect we might need. Meat has no problem competing on the market on its own merits.
The purpose of government is fundamentally to improve a country by providing essential services. Corn also has no problem competing on the market on its own merits, yet we fund it even more. It's also not by merits that things like roads have issues, it's by price. Most individuals cannot afford construction of a road or building. You're also calling it regulation rather than what it actually is which is rewarding behavior you wish to see more of. This is basic psychology, you reward behavior you wish to see and punish behavior you don't, removing rewards for good behavior disincentivizes doing actual good. Removing punishments encourages doing bad. We want people to eat healthier and make better life choices, so we reward it by incentivizing eating healthier diets. Farms providing cheaper foods and selling to Americans should thusly be rewarded. Right now my tax dollars are going towards rewarding Pepsico selling liquid poison, rewarding dindu nuffins with drug money, and rewarding ai companies failing to generate a profit while also rewarding them for firing their employees (which leads to you paying for the consequences of people being laid off). I dunno, I think rewarding bad behavior is a lot worse than rewarding good behavior, You're looking at it from a narrow minded lens that has never once actually existed. Your economic of pure free market capitalism has never and will never be implemented anywhere. Corporatism is still far worse than what we had, which was a society which promoted American moral values over communistic companies which all hate the land they grew from and seek to destroy any competition not through offering a better product or service, but by regulations restricting competition, and pinkertonism. Notice you say regulation of price, rather than incentivizing good behavior because you'd rather look at it through a narrow minded lens that is divorced from reality? One where regulation of price happens but more goes to soda than meat?

Here's a thing. Taxing soda, but not meat is good, taxing employment and owning a house is bad. Taxing foreign goods is good, taxing local goods is bad. Also parking tickets are effectively a tax as well. Right? Even in your narrow worldview you understand that not punishing behaviors you want from society is bad, and rewarding behaviors you want is good. Now, we've explained it within collection of taxes, now let's put that towards where taxes should go. Should taxes bail out failing industries like pedowood or the dei games industry? Or should they fund factories to produce more clothing and steel here? They already took your money, why do you want it to reward stupid shit that makes your life worse? Like, if they're gonna rob you at least spend it on something useful. You sound like a masochist. "Please rob me and use the money you stole to put me in a brazen bull." That's effectively what you're saying. Because they already robbed you. Now you're saying to waste it on failing industries and shit that makes your life worse.

Surely we don't already do this and surely we won't end up with millions of pounds of cheese in caves all around the country!
WE NEED THAT GOVERNMENT CHEESE

I honestly want to see the wars in the grocery stores, mostly because watching black people fight over things like jordans is premo entertainment as long as the employees remain safe.

So more than a handful of these reactions have people saying things like "Trump stopped my food stamps". So... who is winning the messaging war here? How many recipients actually understand that the Democrats are blocking this until Trump gives them a trillion dollars in health care spending and funding for their propaganda outlets?
Those people were never going to vote Trump or Republican (if they even bother to vote). The messaging is targeted towards the 5% or so who can actually sway an election.

A long, long time ago the Congress used to compromise and make deals to pass legislation. This was a period that ended in the mid 1990's by Newt "fat useless retard" Genwich. His "just say no" has stalled every congress since.

The GOP is currently in control of both chambers so passing a budget should be easy. They are instead trying to further bankrupt American's for their rich buddies (the ones they just bailed out in Argentina with that fancy $40 billion tax-payer dollars.) Instead of working on a compromise they've been spending the last few weeks trying to spin this on the democratic party. Thats not really a fair explanation and its standard GOP tactics.

They don't seem to be working as recent polling shows Americans are blaming the GOP for the shutdown.
Remember, this isn't them "passing a budget." That's a different process. They don't like that process becuase they're forced to stick to it and cannot spend more until the next time a budget comes up, and in the ~4 years between budgets that's literally trillions of dollars in extra spending they could have.

This is a "continuing resolution" bill. Literally a "we can't pass a budget right now because reasons, so we're just going to agree to keep going at X amount of funding until we can pass a budget later on." IIRC, they haven't passed an actual budget since the Clinton era.

They do this explicitly so they can add infinity amounts of shit to the budget, blackmail themselves into giving themselves stuff they couldn't pass otherwise, et cetera. It's all kabuki theater where the other side is SUPPOSED to PRETEND to fight it but then capitulate. Trump was NEVER supposed to refuse to give them the infinite free healthcare for illegals that they're refusing to add to the not-a-budget.

It's in this regard that Fetterman is pissing on the third rail by suggesting they end the supermajority required to get past this process. The entire point is it allows the uniparty to blackmail the uniparty until the uniparty capitulates to the uniparty's demands for what the uniparty really wants to do but couldn't pass as a real bill.
Man, the more I see people's reactions to all this the more I realize that welfare for the niggers is really just paying off the Mongol hordes with gold so they don't ride in and lay waste to your cities and crops.

When a nation doesn't have the resolve to eliminate a problem and settle on appeasement this is the inevitable result.
The term is "Dane-geld." From a Kipling poem (same guy who wrote the "English began to hate" poem IIRC):

IT IS always a temptation to an armed and agile nation
To call upon a neighbour and to say:–
"We invaded you last night–we are quite prepared to fight,
Unless you pay us cash to go away."

And that is called asking for Dane-geld,
And the people who ask it explain
That you've only to pay 'em the Dane-geld
And then you'll get rid of the Dane!

It is always a temptation for a rich and lazy nation,
To puff and look important and to say:–
"Though we know we should defeat you,
we have not the time to meet you.
We will therefore pay you cash to go away."

And that is called paying the Dane-geld;
But we've proved it again and again,
That if once you have paid him the Dane-geld
You never get rid of the Dane.

It is wrong to put temptation in the path of any nation,
For fear they should succumb and go astray;
So when you are requested to pay up or be molested,
You will find it better policy to say:–

"We never pay any-one Dane-geld,
No matter how trifling the cost;
For the end of that game is oppression and shame,
And the nation that plays it is lost!"

We're seeing it with the "Nigger-geld" now. You pay niggers to be fat lazy retarded subhumans under the promise that they won't riot and chimp out as much, and that's good because the left screeches like autistic howler monkeys if you even suggest taking it away, and honestly it's just so tiresome to have the fight. But it doesn't make the niggers better. It doesn't make the left suggest not spending more of other people's money on stupid shit. They're still fucking niggers. They're still fucking commies. All it does is subsidize more niggers and commies and embolden them.

And worse still, you still eventually have to have the fucking fight. You do nothing but kick the can down the road to someone else, preferably not you. It's the boomer mindset writ large.

To say nothing about how we just magically happen to find ways to pay Israel billions a year just so their subversives can constantly try and corrupt and destroy us. But national EBT is a different thread.

Your family fled the hell of your forefathers' creation
Born and raised in America, Family has been here since before whites, lol.

You're welcome for the opportunity our forefathers provided for you to exploit.
>You're welcome for that dick sucking we give every other race for you to exploit
Thanks! I'll take every bit of opportunity I can get! Your people have such a fetish for non-whites that it's weird, but hey whatever you guys are nice. You want to give me a straight line to the top just for me being what I am? I'm not going to say "No."
It's not my fault that whites put out the red carpet for me and other races.
I didn't make them give me the opportunity.

It's crazy how your own people don't give your own people chances, but give niggers and jeets opportunities to larp as bosses and flood the US.

You don't have to sit in despondent disbelief here. You can always go back to your home country.
My home country is the US :story:

But enough about my homeland and our problems. Let's talk about yours. So which shithole did you flee?
Once again, my family has lived in Texas their entire lives.
I know it's hard to consider this, but did you know that white people actually do not originate from North America? Shocking, I know.

So how about I turn that question around; Where is your family from? My family's always been here, we have always been American, and have always loved this land,
Sad you can't say the same.

which still after 15 years anyone outside the city limits were made aware and started giving a shit, still has fucked pipes
This a common misconception, but it's not true. Flint is very much Kony 2012. Just shy of 100% of all pipes have been replaced (around 98% last time I checked). It achieved federally acceptable quality by Jan 2019 (which ended the water/health crisis) and the whole thing was declared over (not the water quality, the pipes) in summer 2025.

The water was fixed years ago, but the pipes are a more recent thing.

you weren't kidding

Congress has passed all its required appropriations measures on time only four times: fiscal 1977 (the first full fiscal year under the current system), 1989, 1995 and 1997. And even those last three times, Congress was late in passing the budget blueprint that, in theory at least, precedes the actual spending bills.
After a budget resolution is adopted, Congress is supposed to pass a series of separate bills funding various federal agencies and activities. ... But that hasn’t actually happened since 1996, when the final three appropriations bills for fiscal 1997 (one of them a six-bill omnibus package) became law on Sept. 30, the day before the new fiscal year began. Since then, Congress has never passed more than five of its 12 regular appropriations bills on time.

Fair enough and I stand corrected. Thankfully my point about low-income people getting generationally harmed by a local government unconcerned about their wellbeing stands, since it’s hardly the only example (and lead poisoning and its neurological effects are considered to be largely irreversible).

If that shit had gone down in Marin County anyone within three degrees of separation from anyone involved in the decision would’ve been sued into nonexistence

Hunger Games but it's all niggers fighting to see who gets the gibs. With the rise of sports betting it could easily fund itself. You can solve the issue of gibs costing taxpayers and cull the nigger population at the same time (but you might end up breeding stronger niggers but that's a risk I'm willing to take).

It’s also telling she said the kids really needed some “items” to eat, not food to eat
Odd.
The only other time I've heard someone talk like that was an obviously mentally impaired woman who was tottering up to people in a Walmart parking lot and panhandling by asking if they wanted to "donate five dollars or one food item."
I guess someone came and got her shortly after that because she wasn't there when I came out of the store.

Word really needs to get out that it is the Democrats that are holding up the EBT
benefits, and they are doing it to get American money for illegal aliens and some other stuff that I can't remember right now.

Like, shout it louder than reddit, because if you search for government shutdown and EBT you get an AI response saying that it's the President's fault, and you know the average internet user isn't looking any deeper into this.

I've said this before but it's going to be interesting not only when EBT doesn't come in for November but will probably get doubled in December because it's backpay and the leeches are OWED their food gibs. So what happens then? They're going to immediately spend it on everything they can get their grubby mitts on. We might see a situation similar to the covid toilet paper shortages but with junk food and lobster, which is something to keep in mind when you go to the grocery store in a month or two and half the shit has been sold out. This time it wont just be the EBT people that are upset, it'll be everyone.

That's the biggest thing to come out of this government shutdown. Before this there weren't a ton of people that paid attention to just how much fucking gibs people are grabbing up. Sure we like to bitch about it here but in general it wasn't even in the news cycle. Now it can't be ignored and even the guy who just doesn't give a shit about politics or doesn't have time to read about it has to sit back and think, "Wait a minute, they get how much a month? For food groceries?". If I'm right about a run on the grocery stores than you can add, "Why has meat doubled in price this week? Why are all the shelves empty at the store? Oh, it's the people who made tick toks about robbing me at my car last month."

My point is that EBT has slid under the radar for far too long and now it's going to be the topic of debate for a while. It's something that can be brought up out in the open where reform can at least get proposed. Rate me optimistic but there's a chance we at least step in the right direction.

Chuck Schumer is bitching on the Senate floor right now that the USDA has $6B in emergency funding. He said nothing about how the benefit spend is almost $10B per month. How are they going to make up the difference if they are going to use the emergency funding? Also, if Senate Dems voted on the CR (H. R. 5371), SNAP benefits would have continued unabated. It’s amazing how they are trying to make this about Trump.

My personal experience exploiting EBT as a middle class non-brown individual:

I've had "food stamps" a few times in between jobs (or even durning employment) since graduating high-school. It's easy to get because the qualifications are incredibly broad. You only need to report quarterly so even after you get a job you can still use them for 4 months! I used to be paranoid the government would find out. They won't.

Did I need the food money? No. I was living with the folks, or friends, in my early twenties. Plus I have a supportive family, community, and a solid work ethic. Even while "jobless" I was happy to do any type of manual labor for under-the-table cash. Some months I just sold my EBT for extra cash.

To this day I still exploit EBT as a middle class, mortgage paying adult. Occasionally (very seldom now that I make enough money to support a family) I'll see a tweeker looking dude loitering in front of the lower-end grocery store looking to trade his EBT for cash. There's a # on the back of the card to call in order to verify the money in the account, it's usually $300 for a single individual. You pay him $150 or $200 cash, barrow his card (he'll tell you the PIN), and you do you shopping. Remember to be polite and give the card back.

Personally I think all Social Services should be abolished. I say that as a tax-piggy who's put x 1,000 into EBT then I've used. And what I did used, I didn't need. If you don't have a personal social safety net built up of the people around to care for one another when hard times hit then you suck. Anyone can exploit EBT with little effort and they do.

The number of complete retards in this thread who have the same understanding of farming as the "food comes from the grocery store" people is fucking embarrassing.
Compulsory, compensated 365 days of manual labor should be instituted in America yesterday. Farming, machining, foodservice/retail; it should be its own curriculum. You can learn more working a week in a meat-packing plant than a year in public school, and every American gets exposed to how over half of the citizenry lives.
