EBT has rolled over monthly since the 90s. They give you a max that you can reach usually, however some states do not.
The max can usually change based upon your family size. If you have dependents whether they are children or adults, they boost your max. This is why you see a ton of these Shaniqua-Kongs with 5-6 kids and talking about getting EBT in the thousands.
Government insurance, SNAP, and unemployment work in a trifecta and are streamlined as shit with one another. I worked within the healthcare department and moved up into claims investigations back in the day and you will find that there is a ton of abuse of SNAP benefits and other free services that will have you calling to report other issues where people start abusing their healthcare programs. If it bridges into a SNAP program, then I would have to call SNAP and verify if they got the money legitimately and why and what its uses are limited to.
And even if they are jailed, guess who gets to foot the bill for his "Three Hots & A Cot".
