I know this is supposed to be a joke, but "they" were actively feeding cows parts of other cows and sheep for protein, and only stopped because of mad cow outbreaks.
Yes and those cows weren't exclusively going to walmart lmao. Pretty much if you have to buy food in America, you are at the mercy of whatever scary shit they can legally do to you.
You just have to buy the healthiest stuff you can think of and hope for the best I guess.

American cheese is still the go-to for grilled cheese and basic ass home grilled burgers.

I'm sorry I don't know what I did to insult you that you would take me for the kind of person who would buy great value brand anything, let alone ice cream sandwiches. :(
I mainly buy fruits, vegetables and meats, and I hate to break it to you but unless you're slaughtering your own animals you're going to get the same quality of meat everywhere. That's just the nature of the beast. Everything else I buy is canned or frozen and you can't do much about that. American food standards are American food standards, I live in a city so I have to work with what I can.

I'm sorry, as a fellow American I had to assume you ate some semblance of slop from time to time . Pls forgive me ❤️

I implore individuals to get a big freezer and find a farmer and pay and pick your own beasts. It's less expensive in the long run to do part of/ a whole freezer beef/ lamb/ pig/poultry , it gives money directly to the farmer instead of going to the meat Monopoly (this oligarchy which are four different packing plants in the United States...btw they can import food from overseas, pack it in America and sell it as American they also artificially inflate food prices), and you know where your food comers from. Kind of an all around win.

-Is it as convenient? No.
-Does it taste good? Yeah, you'll never want to go back.
-Is it worth it? Fuckkkk yes.
-Can you get it delivered frozen so you don't have to go drive to bumfuck nowhere and pick it up? Yeah but it'll cost a lot more. Some guys will do it at farmers markets and deliver.

I am a cheap nigger when it comes to food. I hate spending money on it, and the buying bulk method is the best of all options to pay farmers, get a cheap product, and get a quality product.

Does anyone else live in an area where they’ve seen restaurants pandering to people losing their SNAP benefits with discounts on their slop food?
It’s not *only* for people losing SNAP, but they’re convincing the people on it to spend $5 instead of $8 on a kids meal cheeseburger, soda, and fries instead of putting that $5 towards something at the grocery store.

You wouldn't believe the shit that happens on factory farms. Feeding the dead animals to the live ones is one of the least offensive things they do.

Unless you grow your own fruits and vegetables and slaughter your own animals you are eating the same stuff that that the rest of us are.
I don't disagree with the point you're making, but I wanted to add that there are ways to do better depending on where you live. I get my meat from a local farmer who doesn't use pesticides or antibiotics. Yeah, it is more expensive, but it's worth it. If you're in a city you probably don't have the ability to do this however. Even that shit they sell in the big box stores that is labeled grass fed and organic and shit isn't really. The USDA doesn't actually regulate the grass-fed label, and organic can mean basically anything, most things labeled organic are still sprayed with pesticides.

Wow, someone nearly, NEARLY advocating for more regulation on the sonic fanfiction drama forum. A shame all your other takes are shit, but I guess even a broken clock is right twice a day.
I actually read your post in Tony Hinchcliffes voice because it was so catty.
A backhanded compliment is still a compliment, I suppose. So I guess the thank you I was going to say is cancelled out by the desire to call you a twat for being passive aggressively snarky, so you broke even.
I'm sorry, as a fellow American I had to assume you ate some semblance of slop from time to time . Pls forgive me ❤️
I am partial to frozen burritos even though I know they're bad for me. I've just never particularly cared for sweets.

I buy from farmers markets fairly often and when my friends hunt I usually get quite a bit of meat from them, but you have to supplement somehow. I live in a major city, it's just not realistic for me to not be dependant on food companies currently.

My main man, it's not just Walmart. Monsanto is providing this shit to everyone. Now you can buy organic, grass-fed, cruelty free vegan beef (the cows were vegan before they were slaughtered) for triple the price if that makes you feel any better, but I've got a hard fact of life for you: you're a bigger sucker than me.
Because yes, I know I'm being poisoned by Walmart food, but I'm eating the healthiest form of poison that I can get my hands on. You are still buying the same poison that every store is getting, but you're paying more for a false piece of mind.
Unless you grow your own fruits and vegetables and slaughter your own animals you are eating the same stuff that that the rest of us are.
Yes it's not just Monsanto though. There is a meat oligarchy.

This applies to other foods.
  • Carrots: Two companies control 60% of the carrot supply.
  • Prepared soups: Four companies own 70% of the prepared soups market.
  • Almond milk: A whopping 81% of almond milk is owned by four companies.
  • Dips: PepsiCo, with its popular brands like Tostitos, Lay’s, and Fritos, controls 88% of the dip market.

This owns all of your meat unless you buy directly from a farmer or make your own. Yes, all of it.

Also these are owned in big shares by (((Black Rock)))).

Now the pendulum has swung too far the other way, you basically have to go in there with a snapped forearm that's only hanging on by the skin to get 2 vicodin and a pat on the back.
Yea I got a relative who's back is FUCKED. He's seen multiple doctors and they all say the same thing, but can't give him any decent pain meds for it.
American cheese is still the go-to for grilled cheese and basic ass home grilled burgers.
Get yourself some Pepper Jack.

Almond milk: A whopping 81% of almond milk is owned by four companies.
Almond milk is for faggots.

I wouldn't be surprised if there were some human in there :story:

The way that they label meat to sell makes me laugh so hard, because they're all the same cuts of meat. All of it is grass-fed, all of it is organic, and they don't use hormones on any chickens.
It's a scam, and the biggest scam that they run is portion size. Who the fuck eats a half of a ramen noodle and half a seasoning packet? If you look at the back though, that's the portion size. I think that the information should be related to the package regardless. Recommend serving size is a load of shit and should be banned. How hard is it to just say "Here's a can of soup, it contains this much sodium total" and be done with it?

Dips: PepsiCo, with its popular brands like Tostitos, Lay’s, and Fritos, controls 88% of the dip market.
A fucking retarded joke but I can't resist.
The other 12% of the dip market is owned by one man:

Yeah now doctors are so afraid of losing their license they are cautious and suspicious to give anyone a pain pill whether or not they obviously need them.
"You have terminal brain cancer? Have you tried acupuncture?"

Glad the EBT thread is a safe space where we Kiwis can bitch about food quality and government regulations over food monopolies. Someone give RFK Junior an invite. I need him to actually TND (total nutritional diet) America.

Going Saturdays isn't a problem if you're not a degenerate who sleeps until noon. Here they open at 10am for normal Costco members, but us Elite members like myself are let in at 9. It doesn't get any more peaceful in a Costco than during Elite only hours. :smug:
Alright you caught me and I slept until noon today for the first time in ages. I'm sooo sorry I drank on Halloween night like a normal person 🙄

Nothing ever happens. But I'll admit, the idea of EBT closing down escalating into a hellish civil war and immediate ethnic cleansing did give me quite the chuckle.

Lol. Lmao even.

Have you not seen the number of videos of people buying Great value products from Walmart and them not molding due to the amount of trash preservatives in them?

To be fair, I was not entirely aware of the level of evil in this either. Allow me to show you the nigger spic cycle that you are currently eating and feeding your family.

They use horrific quality chicken meat. They have "call and ask us" spices, fake cheese, fake bread, fake ice cream, fake meats. Come the fuck on.

Do. Fuckin. NOT buy from that fucking store if you give half a shit about your health or your people you're feeding.
You appear to be a little bit wrong. You can't fake non-processed meats. You can glue them together enzymatically but you can't outright fake them. Not only that, but we have labeling laws. For instance, the fake "cheese" probably wasn't sold as cheese. It was sold as "cheesy slices" or "Cheese flavored slicers" because its illegal to actually call something cheese if its not dairy-based. Processed American cheese is still cheese even if you can char it. The ice-cream sandwich video was obviously faked. I've eaten Walmart brand ones and they do melt. You're throwing your dietary health in the hands of a black woman with large nails posting on TickTok.

Let me help you out a bit with a guide to understand real food as opposed to ersatz foods:
1) If the candy bar doesn't explicitly say it has chocolate in it, then its using ersatz chocolate made of cocoa powder and vegetable oil(as opposed to cocoa butter). A Butterfinger bar doesn't say anywhere on it that the brown material covering it is chocolate because its not. "Chocolate Flavored" != chocolate. Any time some is X flavored, that means its not legal to call it X.
2) If it looks like cheese but doesn't call itself cheese, then its ersatz "cheese". Usually called slices or shreds.
3) If its a burger-shaped substance that doesn't call itself plant-based but also doesn't call itself a hamburger, then its a mixture of textured vegetable protein(mainly soy) mixed with meat. Beef-flavored != beef.
4) If its called a "meat stick" and not beef jerky, then its a mixture of beef and cheap fillers like pork, chicken, and maybe even textured vegetable proteins.
5) Rule of thumb is if it uses an adjetive(e.g. Beefy), that means its not the similar noun(e.g. beef).
6) If its called Vanilla Extract, then its vanilla and alcohol(don't drink this legal booze kids). If its "Vanilla flavoring" then its not real vanilla. Vanilla-flavored frozen desert is not the same thing as vanilla ice cream.
7) Crisps(Pringles) are not the same thing as potatoe chips. Potato chips legally have to be made out of potatoes and no other starch whereas crisps can be a mixture of potatoe, wheat, and whatever the fuck else.
8) "Made with" != fully made of. Taco Bell tacos are made with beef but that doesn't mean that beefy substance is 100% seasoned beef.

Words have meanings. Ice cream, beef, coffee, spice, and other food manufacturers make money selling the real thing and have made sure the USDA or FDA(or whoever in the government) protects those words from being used by people selling fakes.

Oh man, once you taste a steak that didn't get fucking dyes and shit shoved into it and didn't come from some fucking automated bullshit, you will NEVER GO BACK.

Meat from most stores makes me sick to my stomach now. Chicken and beef from the stores tastes fucking weird, and pork is damn near impossible to choke down.

Because I'm a known disabled Kiwi, the farmer will usually bring it to me and I pay him cash.

Oh, cool thing here.

Apparently the ice cream freezer at one of the little stores here went out Friday night, so they're selling ice cream for like $1 a fucking carton before it melts. Cash only.
