Late and gay. Try to talk about Elden Ring instead of sperging about /v/ as if you belonged there. 🎩
Who is this /v/ anyways, is he in the room with us now?
It's impossible to talk about one souls game without referencing the other ones, as evidenced by the rest of the thread. Calling everything "reddit" is reductive and a trash, low effort way to post. I watched that kind of petty tribalist mentality take root and destroy /v/ and I see the same shit happening here. It's a shame.

Okay, I'll clarify then. This fly guy replied to my statement that ER is DSIII 2 to promote an unrelated mod, JUST like four chain. I was discussing the absolute state of souls modding. We're only just now getting Blender soulstruct and no one meaningful seems to bother, that is for projects that aren't so far away they'll definitely be shitcanned before their completion.

When I say Reddit I mean low effort to the point where it's just model edits, weather edits, and weapon imports we already had in DSIII with The Hollow Overhaul Mod and another one that was abandoned. When I say "Reddit" I mean shit that they do eat up and always recommend because we don't even have anything better and haven't for a very long time. It's all style and no substance, most of the time mods that change up the content don't even understand what makes souls fun. The modders that change up the game play baby's first balancing and often end up creating a cheaper experience than the ones players bitch at fromsoft for. This board isn't turning into /v/, you don't see infinite SHILLING, Hentai and the like. In fact I think you see more varied opinions here than on /v/ right now. So calm down. It's just a matter of retarded users who stink threads up and autists like me who sometimes cannot properly convey their words. Comparing everything to /v/ is also reductionist.

Compare everything to Reddit and you'll never enjoy anything.
But more seriously, if you have trouble conveying your points maybe you should put more effort into conveying them seriously and not compare everything to Reddit.
And I wasn't trying to shill the mod, I wanted to talk about it since it was on topic as it's literally and ER mod and this thread keeps getting side tracked into talking about other games.
Heck I complained about the mods more then I praised it and the things I complained about where the annoying visual and style things.

More like insulting the mod and dismissing it.
I don't know what you mean by this, you called the mod redditborne, which is a form insulting and dismissing it.
In the first place, calling something reddit is insulting and dismissing it. When I say maybe you should put more effort into explaining your points I mean that just dismissing and insulting things as reddit is unproductive and tribalistic.
The user you are replied to was criticizing this usage of language because he thinks it's unproductive and is a detriment to the quality of the thread.

And then I did. I'm not gonna sit on my ass here all day, and take any form of video game discussion seriously, the internet has ruined that shit for me I'll point out whats shit and that's the end of it because everyone else has already made their points about Elden Ring. I have no further things to say really besides "wake me up when they release a non-souls game" or "wake me up when the mods are actually gold and we have more tools". There are more productive things than vidya and mod sperging, good day.

I mean... Yes? I'm happy you did eventually decide to be more clear later, and of course there are more productive things than talking about mods and video games. But if you don't want to talk about ER, or mods for ER, then why are you in the ER thread?
Have a good day as well.

I believe I was on the sunk cost fallacy. I like keeping up with a game I've spent too much time in. (Note that there are at least 100 more hours due to using mods outside of steam). I can't find anything more about it to talk about so maybe I'll return if something catches my eye. 1000174499.jpg

using mods
Speaking of which, the cosmetic mods scene is awful. Only one person has even bothered trying to mess with the White Mask, and most haven't dicked around with some of the really ugly armors. It's mostly nude body coomers and a weird contingent of Nier Automata autists. Thankfully most of the gameplay mods range from pretty good to just fine.

Fair enough, I should've realized you were talking about a bloodborne mod on second reading. And yeah, you're right I was being hypocritical so I'll chill out. I just remembered those terms like "Redditborne" and "Reddit Hill 2" and how they would, and probably still do, murder otherwise good threads. But I just misunderstood you so my bad bro.

I agree that the mod scene for From games is straight up trash lol. I remember playing a conversion mod for prepare to die edition back in the day that just swapped around different enemy attacks and recolored them and called it a day. Maybe one day ER will get a mod that's on the level of that Fallout London one, but I dont see it happening anytime soon.

There's gotta be a better way to implement the feeling of similar progression the base game gave people than sending them on fucking fetch quests even stupider than what the base game did to them.
IMO progression isnt ER and the DLCs strong suit. The fact you can so easily die to rando mobs as you can a gigachad god boss(especially in the DLC fuck those horned warriors) really kills the sense of the game being a power fantasy showing you getting stronger.

Cinders Elden Ring
I assume that's an overhaul mod similar to convergence? Doesn't Elden Ring have one like that as well? Unless Cinders is a completely different type of overhaul. There's also Reforged I think.
To this day I still learn amazing things about Sekiro, it's impressive how giga-chad this game is.
I think everyone at FS is just tired of Souls (including ER). So when they make spin-offs or just other games they end up just being far better. Armored Core, Sekiro, and Bloodborne just feel leagues ahead. You get them to make anything else other than the box standard DS flavor of games and they'll truly shine...probably, or they might make another Steel Battalion or whatever the fuck Monster Hunter Diary was, or even Deracine or whatever. Really just have them make action-adventure games.

If ER's Cinders is made by the same jackoffs who made DS3's Cinders, I'll make the prediction now that it's bottom of the barrel trash not worth playing. Can't say anything about the Convergence for ER, but again, assuming it's the same people that made the Convergence for DS3, it'll probably be good.

Don't know much about Cinders like I said, is it that bad? And yes the Convergence mod for ER is the same folks who made the DS3 one, though it's still a bit in development. Anyone know a mod that rebalances the DLC enemies so that they aren't retarded?

The Cinders overhaul for DS3 is awful. Not as bad as that unfinished edgy tranny goth mod that I can't recall the name of but bad compared to the Convergence and Archthrones. It began very much like those old DS1 overhauls like Daughters of Ash that kind of just moved things around but eventually morphed into unnecessary feature creep nonsense. I stopped messing with it when they added these silly arena gauntlets. The only good thing I can say about it is that they keep an up to date wiki, but the Convergence does that as well and nails their gimmick.

Goth mod? Tranny? You mean Graceborne? Or perhaps that PSX Bloodborne game (the real one not the racing meme game) since the dev of that game is a tranny. I've not played or heard anything of Archthrones so I can't say how well it is. Have not played Daughters of Ash, nor have I played any DS1 overhaul mod. However, I am not a big fan of feature creep so if Cinders is like that consider me pulled out. Guess I'll stick with Convergence, helps that it's a really good mod.

You are legitimately better off "doing it yourself" in souls modding sadly. There are a lot of fuckwits who removed their mods from nexus for no good reason that'd be useful like disabling the abysmal specularity effects all over the world geometry in Dark Souls demastered which immediately improves the look of the game. See below and compare to the awful glimmer everywhere in demaster. PTDE was like this but only had specularity on armor with bloom missing from demaster, PTDE also only had reflective surface specular maps on areas where it made sense like metal gates in Anor Londo. Elden Ring also has an awful white point to its specular maps to where sometimes the dirt and stone castles literally just look white and wet when it rains or at particular sun angles.

It would help enormously if the distribution wasn't placed schizophrenically around the map
This was the big issue with shit fragments. There was no rhyme or reason to their placement. You'd find them completely randomly and rarely, which wouldn't have mattered so much if they were plentiful or there was a surplus, but there isn't. You'll go through a huge area just to get 2 smithing stones and an axe then find a random hornsent with a pot on his head in the corner and he will have one.

Then they just give up at one point and put a fifth of them behind the shittiest boss in the DLC.

They were just terribly placed.
