The whole Miquella/Radahn gay couple thing or whatever it was was so fucking stupid it's did the impossible and got me, who has every mainline Souls game except for the original PS3 Demon's Souls, to hate Fromsoft.
FromSoy has fallen...

Fromsoft's game design and writing style have become a trope and a chore for longtime fans like us. Its gotten to the point where its fuckinv predictable.
Every time a new dlc arrives. Fans will finally rejoice, ALL OUR ANSWERS ARE GONNA BE ANSWERED FORREEEEAAAAALLLL THIS TIME! Every fucking time it only raises more questions that will not be answered.

Yknow it works with a game like Half Life 2 because the gameplay is fun and linear. Minimal exposition. Enthralling worldscape with no lore you read. It makes those questions fun. In Dark Souls this only barely worked and we still got a shitty translation that uses liberties with wordings which makes it sound more mysterious than the og Japanese script. In dark souls all of the item descriptions tell many stories and for some retarded reason, PURELY BECAUSE MIYAZAKI WAS ILLITERATE AS A CHILD AND READ FOREIGN LANGUAGE BOOKS, DECIDES TO SLICE UP THEIR SCRIPTS AND LEAVE IT FOR "INTERRRPRETATION".
I'M FUCKING SICK OF IT. AND YOU MUST BE AS WELL with Elden Rang. You have ALLL this stuff GRRM wrote and I bet they just rewrote it and only kept a few ideas. It CLASHES with the few narratives we do actually obtain. The way you obtain lore is retarded, and they may as well have a fucking glossary like The Witcher 3 does instead of HAVING your player character magically get info and read a SWORD IN A RANDOM FUCKING CAVE ON A RANDOM FUCKING BOSS AGAIN, LIKE ITS 2009 AND 2011 ALL OVER AGAIN IN THEIR GAME DESIGN, TO HAVE VITAL LORE ABOUT THE GOLDEN ORDER AND A HERO OF ER. NO, THEIR GAME DESIGN HAS DOWNGRADED AND REGRESSED BECAUSE AT LEAST YOU HAD TO TAKE ITEMS TO A BLACKSMITH IN DS1. Eat the same shit just with slightly different ingredients over time will wear you out and make you not want it again.
Why not just collect tablets?

Elden Ring was supposed to have a Bestiary by the way which would have greatly helped for things, before you make faggot ass excuses.

Tfw DS2 derails DS1 lore and looks artistically like a lazy MMO even after the concept design changes to a darker mood.

DS2 defenders are fucking insufferable retards who will lie to themselves and gaslight you into believing its good. I have 400 hours in SOTFS on just one character with all dlcs done. Nothing special. I liked some of it MOSTLY BECAUSE IT ACTS LIKE ITS A SPINOFF GAME, A SEPARATE WORLD. Doesn't change its flaws.

Lack of blood in DS2 legitimately made hit feedback missable at times for me and I wound up dying to enemies I didn't think were actually doing damage.

Loved DS2 when I was younger, but now? Yeah, not a good game, not when there's other less janky Soulslikes to enjoy.

I liked DS2’s mechanic of being able to “over-farm” areas of enemies, it was a unique idea that added an extra layer of difficulty to getting some rare weapons

While I do agree that what Capybara is saying is cope, does the JP say the same?
IIRC it doesn't specify either way. Chalking it up to trannylation wouldn't be out of order with DS2, that's the game that mistranslated "exile" as "flexile" in a boss name.

Only, the designer himself has compared it to the femboy and said he was the "inspiration" for the feminine aspects of the design. Which would be completely redundant if he was designing a woman. Looks like a rare case of a trannylator getting it right.

I just want the AC6 sequel that goes in a whacky direction. Looks around that time judging by the past. :optimistic:

Better yet, Miyazaki crack out that fucking idea now that you have the money and manpower.
"I'd love to work on a game that evokes the same themes as anime series like Aura Battler Dunbine and The Vision of Escaflowne, but it would be incredibly difficult to do so. I want to work on a game like that, but other people at FromSoftware would think that would be an impossible idea." -Michael Zaki
Impossible to optimize in their shitbrick 2009 engine maybe but after AC6 seems more possible.

Remember that you can join the Company of Champions to prevent enemy despawning; useful if you're looking to farm.

Also, I got to ask; is anyone else having difficulty really jumping back into Souls games in general? Like, I tried to get back into the prior Souls games, Demon's Souls included, and I just... couldn't. Not sure why, as I remember loving all of them a ton back when I played them last, but... none of them really felt "fun" anymore, you know?

Right now, I've got a copy of Elden Ring for the PS5; been meaning to on and give it another proper go, but... I'm hesitant. I got ideas for a build, and if I enjoy the game then I'll be giving the DLC a go, but it just feels difficult to really get back into the swing of things, really. To be honest, main reason why I never got into ER back when it first dropped was from the toxic fanbase that kept demanding they make shit ridiculous; they never could take the slightest criticism without flying off the handle.

I will admit, I'm a little interested in Nightreign; it certainly looks like an asset flip mixed with Fortnite, but it does mix the combat and gameplay up a bit. I might get it IF the post-launch looks promising, and I do hope the weirder direction they're taking it is just FROM experimenting; it doesn't quite seem like it's worth $40 right now, but if the game turns out to actually be decent... I will be impressed.

It's not just you. I'd like to play ER again and try the new Convergence mod stuff, but I didn't have a lot of fun when I booted it up after beating the DLC. I've taken it as a sign I should just give the franchise in general a rest and come back to it later.

I disagree with the notion that the gender-bending/gay storylines are inherently "faggy" or pandering. FromSoft is one of the few creative entities that showcases how unnatural and twisted those concepts are. They aren't celebrated, and they're often restricted to monarchs and gods for a reason. If anything, it hearkens back to a time in entertainment when gay behavior was used to disgust and freak out the main character(s), especially over in Japan.

I'm someone who's exhausted of faggotry and other seemingly mandatory tropes in media, but this has always been artistically motivated. Miquella is a weird, androgynous, mind-controlling rapist. It was pretty easy to deduce if you paid attention during the base game. This kind of character can absolutely exist without there being a hint of identity politics muddling the story.

There were Redditor newcomers who were genuinely heartbroken that Miquella didn't end up being a good guy (despite him being an obvious homage to Berserk's antagonist) because they wanted, rather, expected a tranny-femboy thing to be the story's true hero. They approached it with western mindsets and weren't aware of this theme repeatedly popping up in FromSoft's previous titles in a negative, eerie way.

Except if you had joined champion covenant, they'd respawn every time.
Oh yeah I forgot about that. I would usually just go for one weapon some kinda greatspear and only 2 areas where that spawned so I’d make a beeline for those on every run
