I liked DS2’s mechanic of being able to “over-farm” areas of enemies, it was a unique idea that added an extra layer of difficulty to getting some rare weapons
Remember that you can join the Company of Champions to prevent enemy despawning; useful if you're looking to farm.
Also, I got to ask; is anyone else having difficulty really jumping back into Souls games in general? Like, I tried to get back into the prior Souls games, Demon's Souls included, and I just... couldn't. Not sure why, as I remember loving all of them a ton back when I played them last, but... none of them really felt "fun" anymore, you know?
Right now, I've got a copy of Elden Ring for the PS5; been meaning to on and give it another proper go, but... I'm hesitant. I got ideas for a build, and if I enjoy the game then I'll be giving the DLC a go, but it just feels difficult to really get back into the swing of things, really. To be honest, main reason why I never got into ER back when it first dropped was from the toxic fanbase that kept demanding they make shit ridiculous; they never could take the slightest criticism without flying off the handle.
I will admit, I'm a little interested in Nightreign; it certainly looks like an asset flip mixed with Fortnite, but it does mix the combat and gameplay up a bit. I might get it
IF the post-launch looks promising, and I do hope the weirder direction they're taking it is just FROM experimenting; it doesn't quite seem like it's worth $40 right now, but if the game turns out to actually be decent... I will be impressed.
