Works well on my machine. Ryzen 5 1600, 16gb RAM, AMD Radeon 6600 8GB. Just getting a few stutters when it gets a little effects-heavy. It's a shame so many people are suffering performance problems.

Got my ass kicked a bunch by that ill omen dude and decided to explore a while, which paid off a good bit. Going to go rematch him again now that I have more levels.
It seems that people with higher end rigs are suffering from more issues.

Yeah I'm not having any problems and I'm running with an i7 11700k, 3080, 32 GB of RAM, and a G-SYNC monitor at 1080p. I'm running it on max settings and I think I saw some micro stuttering in crowded parts of the open world but it was nothing like the problems I had with Saints Row 2 and that game was still playable. I hope the negative reviews get attention so that they patch the game for other players.

The game is great so far. I've cleared most of the beginning area except for that super fast Hound guy in the prison, Margit (got him down to 1/3 health), that golden asshole on the horse, and the dragon in the swamp. I'm not particularly great at these games. I beat the first Dark Souls but Margit is like Manos on steroids so I have to do some practicing. I found a nice replacement for my Confessor's broadsword at least.

I’ve been getting clapped by everything from guys on horseback to unexpected rats and while dying so much sucks, I feel like I’m unlearning habits from shit like Skyrim and BotW so I think there’s hope that I might git gud one day but that’s forever and ever away so far💀
Edit: it’s running just fine on my PS4 Pro so far tbh

I found a non-poisonous swamp, weird.

Also the Bloodborne lore stuff is getting thick on the ground if you were obsessive enough back then to get excited about tree roots and shit

Overall I like it so far. Just been running around doing random stuff in Limgrave. It's big Dark Souls with some Sekiro elements thrown in. But the performance is ass. On PS5 and there's been lots of pop-in, stuttering, FPS slowdowns etc. Haven't crashed though... yet.

Enjoying it a lot. Couldn't quite get into Sekiro for whatever reason, really only played Dark Souls and Bloodborne before that. Liking the whole vibe, the open(ish) world and combat.

Playing on PC, guess it stuttered once or twice so far? Seemed to happen as I entered a new area, but nothing that was worth getting frustrated by.

This guy edited his post 3 times with "new fixes"? I've already refunded the game. Not trying "fixes" while running out of steam refund period.

Overall very disappointed in this release and all the fromsoft drones decrying how games stuttering is normal.
"THE GAME THAT LITERALLY JUST LAUNCHED TODAY IS BUGGY AND GLITCHY! I'M REFUNDING! WAAAAAAAAAH!"
what is it with anime avatars and being spoiled nigger retards

Well, it used to be that it was expected that video games would be finished when they were launched. After all, I wasn't allowed to pay only some amount of the full price; I had to pay the full price for what is clearly an unfinished game. Caveat emptor, of course. In the context of AAA video games, it's no longer reasonable to expect a finished product on release. This is due to circumstances in the industry, however, and this shouldn't be applied generally to other products and services. Full price should mean a full, finished, polished product. Maybe it's my fault for being willing to buy something I could have expected to be in poor condition. That doesn't make it right to sell a buggy piece of shit for full price.

Backlash is always proportional to marketing hype. I expect FromSoft games to have shitty frame rate (it's traditional, that "amazing technology" screenshot of King's Field with 3 skeletons on the screen at once might as well be a video) but I doubt this would have gotten past Sony QA if it weren't ELDEN RING.

Unrelated, I'm disappointed they went with the Souls 3 thing of having item level numbers instead of unique names, it's kind of confusing. Just call it a twinsharpdoublestone instead of a smithing stone[2], geez

I'm loving the game, but they really are on point with "Dark Souls meets Breath of the Wild". The open world portions are fun, but they definitely don't have the map polish typical of From Soft. None of that crazy shortcut stuff.

I've beaten the first Lord of Cinder, don't remember what they're called in this game, but it seems to have a DS3 setup.

Framerate is decent except on horseback or when there are lots of creatures on screen. I've been using the lone wolves ash, which summons 3 wolves. When they're fighting an enemy swarm it'll go down to ~15/20 fps for a little while. Playing on pc at 4k high settings with a rtx 2060. A couple bugs I've noticed: can't back out of the settings menu with a keyboard/mouse and none of the bloodstains work.

Haven’t been able to get to the online part, which is a bummer. I really like dropping “nice view” and “crystal lizard” notes in Dark Souls. But I figure it’ll shake out in a day or so.

I went with Bandit this time, but I need to find a new weapon. Not loving the range. And it’s weird not having a kick move after playing so much Dark Souls.

I did find it hilarious, as well, that after the chargen doesn’t let you select Male or Female (it’s A & B or Bulky and Slender in the extended chargen menu), the very first cutscene has someone refer to your character as either “him“ or “her”. Trannies STILL BTFO.

I got to the open world area, tried confronting an open world boss, and the game chugs hard. Frames drop. Game stutters. The game speeds up after stuttering. It's so bad the game becomes unresponsive at times and I take hits because of it.

I don't mind bugs and glitches, DS3 had a bunch of bugs on release but none of them were this pervasive. The options were super shit too for a PC port. But the game ran smoothly and it was enjoyable. This shit on the other hand is very annoying and is a consistent problem especially in the open world portion of the game. It's not just shitty framerate, it's inconsistent shitty frame rate with constant freezes.

I've seen a friend play it on the PS5, it's a lot better over there, but I don't own a PS5. Can't go to the store to buy a PS5, and can't play Elden Ring on PS5 without a PS5.

Steam's offering me a refund under its policy, so I'm going to take it. So far the developer has acknowledged the problem and said that they'll "work on improving it constantly". So I'm going to take a wait and see approach. I'll happily give Bandai Namco my money again when they fix the problem.

What really baffles me in all this is that the devs handed out the game to reviewers, and while it certainly didn't run perfect on patch 1.01, the devs last minute decided to throw in patch 1.02 which somehow made the problems way worst. Did the intern fork in an old compiled version of the game?

Outside of this stuttering issue I was having, I think the game is feature complete and works properly. It's the only issue I'm having.

Found anor londo yet again lol

None of that crazy shortcut stuff.
Ya there are. Right after the first shardbearer you can find one that would have let you skip him if you'd known about it, for example.
Or if you mean the From-style level branches that loop back everywhere, I've mostly seen those in stuff like fortresses. They exist but it's obviously not a constant like in their best games due to the world design.

Wolves do rule. I just got an expensive knight from the double key door in the tutorial cave that I'm excited to try out but I need one or two more point in Mind.
