My love for From Software has forced me to endure fps drops. Experience would easily be a 9/ maybe even a 10 with stuff sorted out. I LOVED just wandering into the spooky eastern plague land mushroom hell hole.

My problem is that I keep restarting. I decide if I want to be full int sorc with the MLGS in this game, faith with dragon spells and scythes, blood mage with some faith and dragon shit or int-dex to use the moonlight weeb blade.

My specs are are:

16 gigs ram
2070 super
3900x ryzen
all installed on an ssd.

Game is playable at 1080p but i do get more drops that I should. Is it just poor optimization or should I upgrade?

I want to buy this game on PC, but...

Well I bought it on PC and considering my specs are a 3070 TI and a Ryzen 5 (About standard for current gen maybe a bit higher I'm not an expert in PC gaming) with a terrible mechanical hard drive, the performance, for me and people are probably going to hard disagree, is okay. It's not great, but it's not the worst I've seen with From Software and other PC ports, it's just merely okay and it's tolerably playable on my end. Then again my expectations for a PC port from From Software is pretty low to begin with so maybe that's why I'm more tolerant. Shame it doesn't run above average because the game is pretty dated looking with really bad texture works that look hideous up close in some shots.

As for the game itself, I'm not very far in, but I'm probably playing the game dead wrong. I'm going towards Godrick and I probably shouldn't considering that Margit kind of kicked my ass when I first fought against him, but I managed to down him regardless of my gear. I should probably leave that castle and go out into the open world somewhere else and find more gear. I'm way too used to the semi-linearity of Dark Souls and Demon's Souls.

I've been leaning towards doing a dex/faith or dex/int build and it seems pretty fucking viable as far as I can tell. Fuck ranged fighting though, that's boring I wanna throw lightening in a motherfucker's face so faith it seems like is the better choice here for melee combat spell builds. Anyone else been trying to do the same?

Me, I have a astrologist with the meteor staff and rock sling spell but I think I'd enjoy flinging lightning and dragon fire more this time.

The update from last night seems to have fixed a lot of my stuttering. I'd hope a 10gb patch would fix something.

After the second main boss you can respec for basically free with consumables the game gives out like candy. I have 11 of them from just walking around and there's more in vendors. So go Deprived for max versatility (can't respec below base stats) if you really gotta but you can do anything in a single run.

Edit:
You can find Ball Bearings to give to the twin vendor in the Roundtable hold that let you buy Smithing stones 1-4 and Somber 1-4, I dont think theres any that you can buy after that sop its up to farming.
I just now found a bell in a post-Capitol ruin that gives 5s and 6s so seems like there are more, but not early on.

You have pretty great pc !! You should be able to run it 1440p max or high. It poorly optimization for sure that the only downfall of the game imo.

There are plenty of melee sorceries. I am a mostly ranged build and Carian Slicer does extremely good damage. To the point where if you stagger a boss instead of critting it you should just run up and spam carian slicer. For dex/int, you can't go wrong with moonveil. I've seen a ton of people using it and for good reason, it is a powerhouse of a katana.
There's also cool sorceries like Gravity well which suck enemies closer to you. Turning your staff into a comically large hammer to AOE mobs with is really fun.
If you play your cards right that crazy lady may also make your spirits stronger

Yea have yet to fully invest in the Sorcery build yet. DS3 the sorcery build was a let down due to it just boiling down to Soul Arrow spam since you needed to dodge and they were the most efficient FP/Casting Time spell. So hoping the spirits/wonderous potion allow more spell variety in this game compared to DS3.
I had a lot of fun as a sorcerer in 3. I mostly used hidden body, spook, pestilent mist, and CSS / whatever the heaviest soul arrow I could use at the time. My strategy was to one shot trash mobs and if that doesn't work then go invisible and impossible to be heard and backstab.
For spirits you generally just want something to distract the big baddie long enough for you to hammer the boss down. I've found that spirits do negligible damage and the best ones just distract the boss and tank damage.

Performance wise the game runs fine (for the most part) and I just have a 1070 with an it-12600k.
Try turning depth of field, motion blur, volumetric, reflection quality and water surface quality to low. I have everything else on maximum and it runs fine except from when I use pestilent mist.

Oh boy I should really have read the stat descriptions. DEX speeds up spell casting time (this seems familiar and I probably should have remembered) AND stops you getting dismounted?

I wish I knew where the weapons and shit were...

Time for a Wiki binge somewhere, I guess? Suggestions on a good site?

I am right now. I am going to avoid the Wing Scythe this time and go with the Flail for a weapon that way I can use Ashes of War and Armament spells. Just need to get past Stormwall to get the Lightning Spear spell and some Armament spells. Maybe upgrade to the Rider's Flail after getting the spellcasting stats set up.

Is there any good faith scaling sword that does decent physical damage, one that isn't a weeb sword by any chance?

Godfreys axe… will get you to mid game. Or just modify a weapon with a faith ash of war.

Anyone know what the fuck is going on story wise? I got the gist of it, but I still have a bunch of questions like

- What the fuck happened to Miquella and what is Mohg trying to do with him?
- What is the deal with Malenia's Scarlet Rot?
- I have no clue about the whole Godfrey/Hoarah Lux thing, also don't know why he's got a Stand
- Are Radagon and Marika the same person? How the hell did that work, I thought Radagon dumped Rennala's ass to be with Marika.
- What the hell is the Golden Order?
- Whats the deal with the Three Fingers and the Frenzied Flame? Is it Ay Lmaos?

In the previous Dark Souls games you could get the starting equipment for the classes you didn't pick strewn around the first couple areas but that doesn't seem to be the case here. Can I find and buy the Samurai armor and confessor's set somewhere if I started as a hero or are they exclusive and not found in the game world if you don't pick that class?

Is Lengrave indicative of the content density in later areas, or is it a very front loaded experience?

Because a couple short detours aside I've spent three days in Lengrave and the Stormveil Castle. I can't get over how fucking *full* the game is.
