Beat Godrick on my second try and made it to Liurnia today. I ventured into the Laskyar Ruins for a bit and good god, the multi-limbed monster that appears there is fucking insane. That thing has gotta be a mini-boss, right? After getting curb stomped a few times I gave up and went to a different area.

Did he teleport by opening a portal in the ground? If so, use the horse, there's no way you can beat him without it.

Think so. I used Torrent every time I went in and still got utterly destroyed. He's broken as hell.
Yeah, he's pretty bad. But, I think that you can dodge his ground attacks by jumping. So, hit him once then jump away. If he teleports, dodge and then jump. Same thing if he suddenly starts moving really fast. That's a very boring way of defeating him, but it should probably work.

IIRC yeah that one is a miniboss that drops something.
But they're also regular enemies (not any weaker) that the game uses as lurking area denial monsters to upset you. Some of them even have special environmental sounds placed where they spawn to make them more upsetting.

They get poise broken by healing spells FYI if you really need to fight them, and they're very directional and vulnerable from the sides if you avoid the initial attack when they start spazzing out. Not fucking worth it though imo

You can use spirit ash there too. But yeah use the horse mainly because all his little cursed buddies are annoying with the homing wraiths they send flying everywhere.

Just killed the Fallingstar Beast, and even when I knew the best strategy;(summon the Jellyfish and spam the Hoarfrost Stomp)it still took me six fucking times. I reiterate that a boss like that does not belong in such a small room.

Btw, this is unrelated to the enemy we were talking about, but for some reason the final part of Ranni's quest is not appearing to me. I reached the Cathedral, defeated the dragon and Baleful Shadow, but nothing's there. Funnily enough, the turtles that appear to open the mage's tower near the church also don't appear, except one. I have no idea what to do except wait for another patch. And, to pass the time, could someone explain to me how to start Sellen's quest?

Incredibly annoying boss, and since he drops Ball-bearings, we'll probably have to fight him 4 more times or something to get them all. Thankfully, the ones that allow you to buy normal smithing stones don't seem to be dropped by it.

There should be a basement in the big cathedral, she's down there.

Not sure where you're up to with Sellen; you initially need to find a spell on a fucked-up ex-scholar somewhere on Mt. Gelmir (Comet Azure I think), then find her friend in Sellia Hideaway with the knife she gives you.

Pretty sure the other Fallingstar Beasts are fully optional and bearingless but the Full-Grown one on top of Mt. Gelmir gives fat stacks of useful smithing stones and I found him easier since you can use the horse and the arena is huge.

Edit: those turtles were weird for me. I only had to kill two. The one on the cliff you probably found, but there's one flying around way to the north near the Evergaol that you need to use a spirit spring to reach. At which point it opened for me, but I'd previously been to a cliff way to the east full of turtles where I thought I'd find it and aimlessly waved my weapon around so idk what happened there.

I didn't even know there was a basement, is it beneath another one of those illusionary floors?
I found both imprisioned and merchant Sellen. I do not know what to do with the former, and don't remember talking about any quest with the latter. I'll look for the spell, that'll probably help.
Ironically, I think I would do better fighting the Fallingstar Beasts without the horse, I did it without any summons and basically know their attacks by heart because of it.

I don't think it's hidden. There's just a hole or staircase amongst the debris near the middle of the cathedral, maybe the back, roughly toward where the south wall would be if it weren't broken.

Prisoner you don't do anything with until she asks you to. I think finding the spell kicks it off.
I betrayed her at the end for a smithing stone~

Horse is useful for his AOE and pursuit spells, but I was using ranged fireballs by that point. You could do him on foot yeah, the attack patterns are pretty easy once you know em. After Radahn I hunted a few more down for fun.

After you beat Baneful Shadow, you keep going down until you hit the Lake of Rot. Cross that to find a temple to enter (though there’s also a min-boss and some decent stuff to find if you’re willing to explore)and go down even deeper into it to find a coffin. Climb inside and you’ll be teleported to an underground watery area and fight a big ass boss. Beating it will lead you to the moonbeam area you saw from Ranni’s tower. Look for a sort of collapsed cathedral with a Grace Point and you’ll see a hole in the ground. Follow it and you should find Ranni.

Also there’s a dragon running around said moon area you can fight.

The amount of times bosses get reused is jarring.
Think of it from their perspective. Same fucking tarnished using the same bullshit fucking cheese no matter how many times you kill him.
To be fair, Dark Souls 1 did that with the Asylum Demon and the mini versions of the Taurus Demon and Capra Demon.

Margit, Morgott, Malenia, Melina, Millicent, Miquella, Marika, I honestly just can't with the fucking names

Also, aren't Margit and Morgott the same person anyway?
Thats the GRRM influence for ya

just get the wheel and spam the special attack no regrets shred every boss

Since I was bitching about the Godskin duo, and I was spending a good chunk of time trying to help other people with it, I finally was able to do it solo. I just used the sleep bolts for the fat one and killed the skinny one, let him re spawn, and kill him again until the health pool ran out.

Just in case anyone else is having trouble with that anyeurysm of a boss fight.

Looking at all the shit on the map on the elden ring wiki makes me realize how little I've actually even explored anything in the game

I was just discussing how Godfrey/Hoarah Loux is probably Placidusax since his kids have dragon mutations and "Chieftan of the Badlands" makes sense if the entire rest of the world is a dark frozen waste after the sun died in DS3, since only dragons could live there. Because he's a dragon, lord of the dragons...
...and someone pointed out that RADAGON is a terrible anagram of A DRAGON.

I'm just really disappointed that there are no fat lady bosses like other games have.
Like GOT had fat ladies be these grotesque monstrosities, GRRM clearly didn't have any say in character design or there would have been multiple fat fuck bosses.

Like not even an asylum demon reskin.
