There is one thing i need to credit elden ring for, there "anti cheat", is way better as in all souls games together. yes easy anti cheat can be bypassed rn but fromsoft might fix it.+ alot of shit which could get abused got fixed as well

it not as messy as dks 3
EasyAnticheat is much worse because cheaters still exist, and will still put you in infinite deathloops or corrupt your save files... and you can't get a tool like DS3's Blue Sentinel mod that automatically made back up saves and was generally better. I think that the anticheat might be better at the cost of it being worse (compared to community tools)

the deathloop wasnt really one, you could use the map to port out, which had a very small frame window. over all there isnt a way to softbann you like in dks 3. (item injection, body modification like giving perma dragon body), both cases got fixed at some point from fromsoft. but rather late in my opinion

its a mixed bag here, mod support got removed which is super sad the modding community was always strong.

You can get banned for picking up modified items

Yup be careful. Pick up Fia's panties or that armor set they removed in the last patch for whatever reason and boom banned.

Seems to be the griefer's current method of choice since they fixed that glitch where they could teleport you outside the map.

Seen a few webms on 4chan of a hacker dropping a fingerprint shield that shots arrows (I THINK) and the players getting instantly banned.
I am still baffled at how shit the anti cheat is. Maybe the removal of online focused covenants was a good thing so I don't have to risk a hacker getting me banned or sending me to ng+.

Side note, I like the enormous bosses in theory but it isn't fun when I can't see what's happening of where I'm getting hit from. The 2nd fight with Astel is just as obnoxious as it was the 1st time.
I have this problem with Fire Giant, because he has all these animations that I never actually see because through the fight you're glued to his ankle. Although I dislike the fight with Elden Beast, having it teleport around solves this problem because you get to see it do cool moves while chasing after it.

Maybe I'm too much of a pussy for these games.
I just can't stand how all the fucking side quests and characters end badly for them. Shit is depressing as fuck.

Did no one try to use ranged weapons on the Fire Giant or are they avoiding it because they think it's cheesing? I got him first try without knowing what the hell was going on by getting Alexander out (I will summon if I think it's for a quest) and then switching to a bow to pincushion him with rot and bleed arrows when I found his attacks annoying to melee.

They all come back in NG+ so it's motivation for you to finish the game to see them again.

At the point in the game where you're at the Fire Giant, you should have some sort of broken ass +8 or +9 weapon art that quad shots anything in the game. I just blew some bubbles at him and he exploded.

Nigger, the vulnerabilities that allow people to wreck your shit date back all the way to the original Dark Souls: PTDE , they aren't going to fix shit, the only reason they even half assedly implemented an anti cheat is because the DS3 RCE exploit was found a few weeks before Elden Ring's release

Well it's fire, so i just cast ice spells, particularly Adulla's Moonblade, which is good up close and range.... and he's done.

But of course some generic melee builds are not that flexible against certain situations, so naturally a lot of players get frustrated.

Got the greatsword and nightrider glaive to do my strength build and started invading. Holy shit people aren’t overreacting to bleed. This is absolutely ridiculous. One jumping l1 and I’m nearly dead.

Wait, people had trouble with the fire giant? I got him on the second or third try with the Banished Knight's Halberd.

Dual-Wielding twin blades with Bleed and that white mask that buffs bleed fucking breaks the game. Or it's one of the many things that breaks the game. You can jump and do a heavy attack and it just annihilates even the toughest bosses. I jump attacked a Crucible Knight and killed him in two hits. A boss version took just 4 hits.

Anyway, I normally don't do this but I'm struggling to get to these locations:

I tried for a good 20 minutes to get to this spot and I couldn't find shit. I found a cave and I thought I was getting somewhere but it just too me to a spot with a good weapon art.

I was doing some research and to proceed further you have to complete an NPC quest in Nekron. I hate NPC quests so I don't think I'll be doing it. A shame because the rest of this area looks cool and it has a tree with a seed.

Also, the Soft Cotton is completely worthless. Every time I've used it in a spot that would kill me by just a couple of feet it did absolutely nothing.

First one you can get to via the southwestern part of Altus Plateau, you can get there the Ruin Strewn Precipice and go north west or simply go down around the Perfumer's Ruins. west of the area there should be a place called Wyndham Ruins guarded by a Tibia Mariner- go past them farther west and you'll find a route with Putrid Corpses, Basilisks, and a stonesword locked cave- just past those you'll find both a grace and that fort.
(Edit: These are shit directions. Improved ones here.)

Second one's the place you start- Chapel of Anticipation. It's one of the portals at Four Belfries, north of the Cuckoo Gaol. Portal closest to the chest if you want revenge on the Grafted Scion.

Third's basically locked behind Radahn and you have to go through all of that until the Naturalborn boss, which even then is blocked by a seal until you do Ranni's quest up until the ring- fairly far into the quest, so unless you want the sorceries, DMGS. dragon hearts, pretty decent summon ash, later game smith stones, or starlight shards for puppets (Sidequest of Ranni's quest)/fp regen, no reason to come here.

Also the red area is a fucking pain and so are the bosses, but that's the area right in front of that Naturalborn boss, so you can still get there without the quest via Nokron.

Finally, Cotton Balls do work, but they only prevent fall damage like Fall Control. It doesn't prevent a lethal fall onto walkable terrain from killing you, none of the previous games with this effect had this outside of quitting out mid death in DS1/DS3. It's dumb, but that's been the rule since DS1.

How do you get to the red area?
