I wanted Bloodhound Step and knew a nights cavalry had it so I looked up where he was and went there and got it. Nights cavalry are seriously a joke when you're on horseback.
Whenever I knock one down from their horse I just sit there and wait until they summon another one, when they're on a horse they are absolutely harmless while on their feet they are dangerous.

I assume the Dragonsbarrow one is a higher tier since he gave 40,000 runes, that didn't make him an iota harder than any of the lesser ones though.

I always kill Night's Cavalry horse first because aside from getting in free hits when theyre on their back and summoning their new horse, after they get back on they tend to shuffle around ignoring me for several seconds, sometimes more than 5, like their targeting/aggro is fucked, so even moar free hits

Their windup is insane so even if you ride straight at them they will fire off their massive swing after you have passed. That jumping attack of theirs only means that they will jump over you. The shoulder charge from the horse might hit once in a while but it is rare. Ride up their ass and keep swinging, that's when they usually turn and try the shoulder charge, but that means stopping, and at that point you're already past them even if you're not trying. Just go max speed 100% of the time, gain some distance to recover stamina then do it again.

I'm not even good at horse combat. There's two tree sentinels in lendel and I'll probably take them on next time I play, they have a very similar moveset and it will be my revenge. Opening area tree sentinel flattened me so many times... Speaking of that area, fighting Margit again was fun, more health and experience with the game really makes a difference.

Ride up their ass and keep swinging is how to cheese any mounted enemy

Or equip a pike and jab, stagger them with every hit. It doesnt break their stance every hit but it does interrupt attack animation

Finally finished clearing Stormveil Castle, and Godrick was a bitch and a half to kill. I got him down to 1/5 health a few times, but it wasn't until I leveled up my Jellyfish Ashes and unequipped a few things to get down from heavy load to medium that I finally managed to get him. Probably could have gotten him without the upgraded ashes if I was just a bit more cautious with my attacks and dodges, but whatever. He's still dead.

I was going to say that I had finished clearing all of the optional bosses in Limgrave as well, but after looking at this list it looks like I've still got a few left. The Tibia Mariner, Patches, Night's Cavalry, both of the Grafted Scions (I fucking hate these assholes), Ancient Hero of Zamor, Crucible Knight, Deathbird, Miranda the Blighted Bloom, and the Erdtree Avatar. Oh, and that Bloody Fingers guy on the path to Murkwater Catacombs. He's not really a boss, but might as well.

...When I started that list, I thought it was going to be a bit shorter than that. Guess there's more optional bosses than I thought. Well, at least I'll have plenty to do tomorrow.

By the way, Smaug, thanks again for that tip to roll into their attacks, rather than away from them. That advice has been very useful.

I saw a tweet trying to claim Ranni as a trans icon because of the quote about killing her body and making a new one, and I couldn't help but think that Godrick is a much better representative of the trans community. He mutilates his body, he looks like a freak, and no matter how much he changes himself he's still a man. According to The Great Kenneth Haight, next in line as the rightful ruler of Limgrave, he also disguised himself as a woman to escape the capital, so he's a crossdresser as well.

Anyway, gotta drop in and say, the COOP mod is bloody damn fun.

I mean, who has friends right? But if you manage to arrange a session wtih some discord group etc, y'all gotta try it.

From not including coop is the true cardinal sin.

Ranni wanted a new body to become a god on her own terms, not according to her fate as an empyrean as decreed by the Greater Will through the Two Fingers. She wouldnt have killed her original body if she could have both kept it and been free. She couldnt be free in her original body so she got rid of it. It was just to get away from the creepy eldritch groomer that is the Greater Will not because she really wanted a gorldick

Godrick is the much better choice yeah, totally degenerate, wants to fuck dragons or identifies as a dragon or something, crossdressing coward, embarrassing distant relation, pure troonery

Troons try to affiliate whatever they can with themselves to a point where everything is about them. They define things by superfluous details rather innate traits, a woman is not someone with XX chromosomes, but someone with (man)boobs. They lack an understanding that yes, masculine and feminine are social-cultural constructs; but they don’t understand that men and women are different, no matter how much you got molested.

Anyway, Ranni is a two-faced kinslayer who’s plays with dolls. She’s better than half of siblings and half-siblings. Only Radahn was best boy considering the only other runner-up is a literal dragon fucker who’s soul died.

Did you get the Bell Bearing Hunter who only spawns at night at the Warmaster's Shack? He's one of the more challenging bosses in that zone. He will spawn in the shack at night if Kenneth isn't there.

I think I might need to find a different list to use, because that one's not on it. Well, technically it is, but it's down in the Caelid section. It also said that there was an Erdtree Avatar at the Minor Erdtree in East Limgrave, which there isn't.

I booted the game up to get rid of the two tree sentinels as part of my pony express murder spree, it didn't seem like it would be much of a problem but they actually killed me 4-5 times and aaaaall of those deaths were complete bullshit(of course they were).
The fight takes place on a set of long stairs and the constant difference in elevation between the player and the sentinels really messes things up, it's like fighting lawn movers in a bouncy castle. Sometimes the camera got fucked as well and pointed almost straight down when I was trying to look backwards. It was more frustrating than hard.

Off to the side, you can just poke one with arrows or spells or whatever until it dies in a little alcove that they can't reach. While it is cheesing the fight, the multi-man fights (other than the gargoyles) just are not well-made in the game, both in terms of their actual moveset alignment and in terms of the arenas themselves.

I cheesed the dragon in Limgrave(the one around the cultists) like that very early on, before I put any levels into health. It was possible to stand outside the arena without it despawning/relocating and safely plink it with shitloads of arrows from long range while it just paced back and forth.

The gargoyle in Lendel(past the sentinels, also on fucking stairs) somehow one shotted me before I could get a sense of what was going on. It was close but he went down on the second try, using mimic tear. Mimic tear is very good not only because it's a strong summon but also because it allows you to hang back and see how a large boss reacts when fighting a clone of yourself and you can also see the entirety of its moves very clearly, something that is hard when up close and swinging at their ankles.

Near the end of Farum Azula

What I wish is that there were more invader type bosses in this game

Run to the gargantuan boss's butt and hit it in the foot or butt run away or roll to avoid huge AOE attacks and repeat until boss is dead, or, get just inside spell range and shoot off spells and run around avoiding huge AOE attacks, repeat until boss is dead, gets very very stale

Fighting NPC invaders and (some of the) Evergaol type bosses jumping and rolling around each other looking for openings to get a hit or some hits in is about 1000x more fun

Too late to be of any help, but if you drag them through the gate behind them, it's a more or less even level plane to fight on. But yeah, just cheese the fuckers by standing on railings works best.
Fucking Malikieth.
Funnily enough, I found that Maliketh was super weak to any death based attack that reduces max health (like the ranged attack Black Knife Tiche uses). His low overall health mixes poorly with the health debuff, and if he is managed properly between you and Tiche he dies very quick.

When used properly Blade of Death is OP as fuck and I love it

I wish it wasn't so easy to accidentally kill people. First Gostoc and now Patches. At least when they're vendors, you can still get their items from that guy in the Roundtable Hold.
