I kept getting completely fucked by fire giant on my first run on the horse but only managed to beat him when I mixed up riding and on foot combat. I dunno if that's intended or whatever but sometimes I feel like bosses meant to be fought with Torrent are way too hard on him, and some bosses where you can't use him were really designed with him in mind.
I had more deaths on fire giant than any other boss on my first playthrough. I thought I was just underleveled but I was doing the fight wrong. I didn't realize that you're supposed to attack his hands during phase 2 and continued attacking his feet, making it a lot harder to avoid his rolls. I also didn't realize I should be attacking the eye in his chest when he is stunned. It was partially me being a retard and FOV issues with bosses that are 20x taller than the player character.

Yeah I'm glad they made some bosses that are fucking hueg just for the sake of it but with Fire Giant he just wasn't really that fun because I couldn't get to grips with what the game wanted me to do.

Also I don't know if we'll fight the Erd Tree in the DLC but I'm expecting we'll have a giant spectacle fight with Godwyn's rotting carcass in some form, it'd be cool if that was with him being wrapped up inside the tree while consuming it. I kind of expect the DLC to be like a soft sequel in that the goal will once again be to travel to the tree, reusing many of the old areas already designed but this time consumed by death blight or at a different point in the timeline.

You will never be the Elden Lord. You have no Great Runes, you have no poise, you have no vigor. You are a misbegotten tarnished twisted by perfumes and sorceries into a crude mockery of the Erdtree's Grace.

All the "victories" you get are due to summons. You are mocked behind your back at the Roundtable Hold. The Two Fingers are disgusted and ashamed by you. Your spirit ashes laugh at your ghoulish, mismatched armor set behind closed doors.

Finger Maidens are utterly repulsed by you. Thousands of years of evolution have allowed Maidens to sniff out frauds with incredible efficiency. Even tarnished who "pass" look uncanny and unnatural to a Maiden. Your mage build is a dead giveaway. And even if you manage to get a drunk Maiden to impart Grace upon you, she'll turn tail and bolt the second she sees you are trying to level arcane.

You will never be happy. You wrench out a fake smile every single login and tell yourself it's going to be okay, but deep inside you feel the depression creeping up like Deathroot, ready to crush you under the incredible weight.

Eventually it'll be too much to bear - you'll buy a rope from a travelling merchant, put it around your neck and and plunge into the cold abyss. The Two Fingers will find you, heartbroken, but relieved that they no longer have to live with the unbearable shame and disappointment. They'll bury you with a headstone marked with your birthname and every passerby for the rest of eternity will know that a tarnished is buried there. Your body will decay and return to the Erdtree and all that will remain of your legacy will be a bloodstain that is unmistakably a mage.

This is your fate, this is what you chose, there is no turning back.

Does anyone else think there's some correlation between dragon lord Placidusax having two remaining heads and there being two fingers / three fingers?
(Placidusax used to have 5 heads).

Look fellas! An actual image for the dlc

I hope we're not going into the future again, cause that's a great way to make everything you do feel fucking pointless.
Who is the mysterious lady boy that Torrent is cheating on us with?

I'm from the future, the DLC is more boring fantasy slop in the badlands instead of raising or answering questions about the origins of the Greater Will, the Erdtree, the Elden Beast, and the Ring. Also there's 3 more pallette swapped dragons to fight, and 7 more Ulcerated Tree Spirits. And the map is so big it takes 15 minutes to traverse even while sprinting on the horse. Did u rike it?

How is the game performance on PC now?

I bought it at release but ended up getting a refund because the stuttering was just too annoying for me.

Am I the only one who felt disappointed that there wasn't any use of kintsugi in Elden Ring? Feels like a missed opportunity...

It would've been cool if the buildings in Lyndell had cracks in them filled with gold or something instead of just gold-leaf roofs.
Maybe Alexander Jar Warrior could come back stronger with golden incantation attacks in the DLC using magic Kintsugi or something(:optimistic:).

While it's not a unique phenomena, it's pretty amazing how there is an entire YouTube industry trying to argue that the game has a deep storyline. Like I listen to half an hour about the significance of snakes in the game but it never amounts to anything and could quite easily be chalked to snakes being a cool thing to slap into designs. With any depth stemming from snakes being such an old symbol they fit any interpretation you want.

Elden Ring ends up being a discount Norse saga with trees.

Most of souls loretubers are overthinking stuff in these games. I doubt some overworked jap who is designing interior of dungeon 156 and needs to make 12 more before end of week cares about deep lore enough to waste time to hide secret messages .

As for depth of ER story . Why does pc (protagonist) cares about becoming Elden lord? Considering pc started his journey before you as player took control you can't just hand-wave it as something player decided to do.
All there is to work with is pc is guided by the grace . Aka manifestation of greater will, but because you can still go for frenzied flame or simp ending it is not like pc is forced to do it.
And of course there is NPCs telling you to do it because you are chosen undead tarnished.

My favourite case is Vaati doing a lore video based mainly on a pillar, only to find out it was a bought asset that appeared in other games. In the end, if the devs want you to think about something they'd do it prominently in some big ass mural rather than hide it in a random ass asset.

Also yeah, the protagonist doesn't have any reason to go through the insanity of killing demigods and dying a hundred times. The world isn't about to end, better to just hang out in the round hall and fish.
Imagine necroing this thread and it's not news about the DLC.

Kill yourself, faggot.
It's been two years dude. You'd get AC6 DLC before ER DLC.

My personal Vaati Moment is all the hype and fanon that went into Solaire being the lost son of a god, with divine right to the kingdom...only for it to turn out that no, he was just a loopy but dependable undead dude who could swing a sword really well.

Define "really well" because everyone in the Souls series swings their weapons like literal cavemen trying to club a saber-tooth tiger to death.

Outside of very specific movesets anyway.
