I predicted they'd add the incantation "aspect of the crucible: wings" somewhere in this thread ages ago. some modders even made it themselves, before the DLC came out.
 
Anyone actually wanna form a group to play the DLC when it comes out?
I played elden ring when it came out with a group of niggers on Discord in the voice channels. one of the best gaming experiences I've had.

While there was no nice shot of Death boi Godwin, FromSoft trailer’s and music always get me pumped. GG.

Just went to check the PS store for the DLC and saw it's $40 freaking dollars. This better be some mega sized expansion if they're charging double the normal rate for a DLC.
 
Lorefagging time:

  • Looks like the DLC will start at Miquella’s cocoon, an entrance point to whatever shadow realm Miquella is in.
  • The big guy in red is Messmer the Impaler. He says “Those stripped of the grace of gold shall all meet death in the embrace of Messmer’s flame.” He’s got snakes and flame with him so he was probably one of Praetor Rykard’s followers. Perhaps he joined with Miquella for some reason.
  • “He wields love to shrive clean the hearts of men. There is nothing more terrifying.” I’m getting Griffith vibes from Miquella.
  • A new armor of Morgott’s Night’s Calvary appears. Did Morgott send him or did he join Miquella?
  • There seems to be a human-beast hybrid boss. Miquella’s and/or Malenia’s Shadow?
  • Is the giant wicker basket monster supposed to be used to burn the Erdtree in place of the massive cauldron of the giants?
  • Has Miquella abandoned his Haligtree project? None of the colors in the trailer match up with the whites and bright gold of the Haligtree area so perhaps it has been left to rot.
 
There's a beast/dragon cultist dog, fucking BONE FIST, the Runebear roar was on a tarnished so that's a spell, worm sans face, there's a part where the player throws a massive firebomb as well wtf was that, flower part was also prime bait for a new arena in pvp, there's a gravity man on a boar with a fucking BELLMET, a giant on yet another struggling horse with a boomerang. Ordovis's Wings are either attached to a twinblade or there's an incantation twinblade/shield... I'll be in anticipation for the mass mind control spell (I think? It had Bewitching Branch purple) bringing back spirit ash pvp just so people can get smacked out of it, that'll be funny.

Really thought that Messmer dude was Rykard, but he's got the snakes so close enough in my book... Wait is he the fucking egg? Are we fighting Radagon's fucking stillborn egg thing he gave Rennala? Please tell me that's just a follower of Rykard and I'm being a sped, because his eyes and hair are at least partially Radagon's making and it would account for a demigod that doesn't have to drop a new rune. Since amber egg demigod would actually be the first FULLY dead if it were to count as alive enough for a soul and the Rune of the Unborn would technically be his, but does he think Rennala is his mom and hates his dad enough to join Rykard?... I'm done speculating, this shit's gotten too weird to be right in any universe. I just hope the extra large firebomb is either craftable or AoW and not just an area gimmick.

i wonder if Malenia is still going to be of importance in the DLC because if things do pan out in the way of Griffith (i.e. things get fucky à la Eclipse where he sacrifices his followers within the Haligtree/Ordina in exchange for "Godhood" ) then that may have some consequences for Malenia's final transformation.

to quote Gowry during Millicent's questline:

well, what if Malenia's final transformation could be emboldened by the flames of ambition betrayal by Miquella's hand rather than entering Phase 2 with the Tarnished?

to my knowledge Millicent doesn't get reborn upon defeating Malenia, so perhaps setting this grander evolution in motion is what it meant or Millicent to get reborn (discounting the fact that Malenia's Phase 2 is actually called "Goddess of Rot" which i'll just retcon for the sake of my autistic theory).
 
Didn’t expect that shadowdrop, but I’m glad to be surprised. Finally a release date and some gameplay. Fromsoft is notorious for taking forever to show something after announcing anything elden ring. The base game took two years after the first trailer before more was shown.
