As it is do you guys think it will be a one off dlc or do you think they'll be another one after this or more.
In one of the interviews, Miyazaki says that as of now, they don't have plans for more but want to keep that door open. He also goes on to mention they have multiple projects in the works right now but he's not directing all of them.

I can't see them having only one DLC for a game that sold this much. I know Fromsoft does it's own thing, but I doubt even they can resist the chance to make even more money.

I’m disappointed at the lack of Godwyn too. Would be a complete waste if they didn’t address him at all.

I never understood why people were afraid of Malenia that much.
It took me several tries, to figure her patterns, but I managed to beat her.
Why never even try?
Speaking for myself, it was because I knew for a fact I would get curb stomped and most likely rage quit after only a few tries. I’m not exactly good at Souls games as much as I enjoy the lore behind them.

Agreed, Miquella is an interesting angle, but I'm a lot more interested on Godwyn, I want to fight a Godwyn in his prime AND after he becomes a merman aberration.
I just want to know why there's two of him and why does he have fish traits.

On release Malenia was pretty bullshit, especially if you had any non meta build. I wouldn't be surprised if since then the other builds were buffed enough to make then playable

The main advantage you have against Malenia is she's humanoid. That means anything that can knock down any enemy invader will knock her on her ass too. You can even launch her into the air with ash of war wild hunt.

Heavy weapons are your friend here.

What she did was shit on those garbage comet azur builds which is a win in my book.

I pretty much just outmaneuvered Malenia with the Bloudhound Fang, but I've been told since then that I didn't really beat the game by using a broken weapon

As an INT fag I didn't get the appeal of comet azur.
Sure, you find later in the game a flask that lets you cast with no FP, but I'm not comfortable standing still in a game like this.

Honestly, when I fought Melania, I tried so many strategies and spells and I had fun, instead of raging.
At some point I noticed she dodges pretty good, so spells with some tracking or wide area are good. Then I noticed that most ashes die too early.
So, in the end, my winning strategy was equipping myself with staff + shield (until then, I used dagger+staff) and only two spells (Ranni's Big Blue Balls and Adula's Moonblade). That way, using Mimic, he would only use those two spells for attack and use the shield for better survivability.
The fight was incredibly hilarious, because if she went for the Mimic, I would put my Big Blue Balls in her face and if she went for me, the Mimic would do the same. For the second stage, the Moonblade performed better and the freeze procs helped a lot also.

It's one of those things that get shared on reddit and low skill scrublords say "look at how it shreds mohg it must be godly". Suddenly, every summoned mage is using it. I'm not an INT PRO but shard spiral can do almost the same thing with a lot more versatility given the proper setup. I'll have to try another non hybrid int playthrough before the expac. I know moonveil is 120% cracked but my moonveil build is the same as my MLGS build in DS1 - built around the weapon, not spells.

The first time I cleared her, I was using a similar setup only with fire incants instead of sorcs.

Shard spiral is terrifying. I built my mage for comet azur, but when I realized a well placed spiral could do damage way faster, with tracking, with breaking enemy dodge AI, and I could toss three out at once, comet basically vanished from my rotation.

Did they ever patch it? That spell just felt buggy, with the dodge thing, drilling through shields, and sometimes the tracking for one of the projectiles would get way too good if it got pulled into a sharp arc. Like, one projectile would keep spiraling along, but the other would lock directly on to the target. And it's cheap to cast! If they didn't patch it, it has to be an intentional 'goofy looking slow spell is secretly OP to own people who make snap judgements' fromsoft thing.

I am hoping he will be the 'hard as Malenia' super boss hidden in the game somewhere. Starts in his blighted fish form before you beat that back and fight some semblance of his original self.

Don't think it's happening though. Which is a huge shame and major wasted potential.

Apparently the dlc will also not add any new endings to the base game, which also kind of bums me out. I expected you'd get a new proper ending after DLC, possibly Miquella themed, but doesn't look like it.

She got majorly nerfed. Recently I went through Elden ring and I fought malenia with my +10 mimic tear and my +10 bloodhounds fang. Both of us put her in a constant stagger that she struggled to break out from, and when she did her bullshit move I just backed away so she attacked the mimic tear instead. On her 2nd phase the only problem was that my mimic tear kept going into her scarlet rot AOE. Other than that it was really easy.

It was a meme strat that relied on min-maxing and taking advantage of a slew of buffs as well as the Zero FP crystal to get anything out of it. Retards on youtube and reddit loved it because it was the easiest way to do big numbers in as little time, with as little actual effort, as possible. Bonus points if you got as many summons as possible doing it all at once and pretending like you're some mlg big brain for reddit doots.
If you didn't get that opening shot off, lol gg enjoy the runback cause you almost 100% didn't have the skill to deal with bosses in a more normal way. Any other int fag, as has already been said, knew there were MUCH better options for damage that remained far more versatile.

Depends on how often she decides to cancel her stagger animations to ass fuck you during your recovery frames. I posted a vid or two quite a few pages back of a guy who, about as objectively as you can, proved Rot Bitch is just playing her own game with her own rules. Maybe not actually cheating, but she can be exceptionally cheap at times to the point it veers straight onto bullshit territory. I'll try to find the vids again because they're honestly just interesting to watch even if someone thinks she's totally fair and balanced. I personally don't think she is, but she's not quite the wall people meme her to be and beating her isn't some godtier achievement either. She's the meme version of a "git gud/skill check" boss that non souls players think of when it comes to these games.

Malenia was never nerfed in any patch. Her fight never changed.

And almost everything in the game got nerfed to the point of being useless in those two years, Fist weapons are the exception.
