I finally beat it. Malenia included.

Decided I wanted to do something different for the DLC so I did a respec for an an INT build. Got the Darkmoon Greatsword and Moonveil both to +10, Been clearing some areas and field bosses I missed during my playthrough, trying to get used to the new weapons/build.

Waiting for the DLC to drop feels like waiting for football season to start. I'm restless with anticipation.

Really happy it releases on a Friday. I'd almost be tempted to call in to work if it was a Tuesday drop. I can play it for a little bit Thursday night, then no life it all weekend after I clock out Friday.

Beat it. Elden Beast is a gimmick fight that took all the best moves from bosses in the other game. It has the same animation that the Divine Dragon from Sekiro has specifically the Angled Slash and Dragon Flash attacks that I died trying to parry. Will probably get the DLC.

Elden Beast is a bad final boss. I don’t mind gimmicky or spectacle bosses, but it’s just not polished. Divine Dragon was pure spectacle and that was fine.

Radagon should’ve just had a phase two where it shows up as a stage hazard. Have it constantly revive Radagon to like a 1/4 of his health while you have to take it down in a DPS race as it swims away from you. Could’ve had Radagon get progressively more broken as he limps to attack you or crawls like True King Allant until the thing is corned and turns him into the sword.

Either that or just let players summon Torrent.

Also, DLC has 10 remembrance bosses. Supposedly does have some field bosses that show up on the base game in the DLC starting area, but as you get deeper those go away and it’s all new stuff. There are Shazam faggots in threads spamming shit.

Every Elden Beast attack except for the sword slash is pure holy elemental damage. With talismans and incantations you can stack up to 90% holy resistance.

Do that and the best he can do is chip damage.

As is tradition. Though if you keep low expectations it's always a pleasant surprise if a game + DLC is good and you're never going to be disappointed.
FROM has a pretty good track record and even games that are middling for them are still pretty good. I like Dark Souls 2 in spite of it being a flaming pile of garbage that the 3rd director tried to salvage after the first two fucked it beyond recognition.

Typically the DLCs are pretty good.

My issue is more that he’s just a pain to fight and will cover the arena either Elden Stars or that nebula fog that Astel has.

I’ve had him pull out multiple ranged attacks as he starts his melee chain and it’s just waiting to attack and then getting hit by the high tracking Elden Stars that stun lock you.

Eventually just cheese him with frost damage and pest threads.

I dunno I'm getting bad vibe from the specified amount of content for the DLC. It sounds like they made too much content in a game who's biggest issue was being already too bloated with content. By the end of ER you are already pretty much locked to a build and are comfortable with a weapon, what more can you do with all the new shit?

More freedom and player choice is literally always a good thing, nigger wtf are you even talking about?

Is it known if the DLC is level scaled or if its static? I saw something about level 120 being recommended but I'm not sure if that was based on when you fight Mogh or if it was just for the DLC.

I've been trying my hardest to avoid any spoilers til it releases, but I did see you'll be able to find objects that will upgrade your stats, but only in the DLC area. Once you go back to the main overworld your stats will revert back to normal.

This guy made a map guessing what the map will look like in the DLC.

You hate the game to begin with, I doubt the quality of the DLC matters that much to you.
I absolutely hate this game indeed, I have 600 hours on it because I'm an idiot.

The game is too big and it has way too many flaws. Pointing it out doesn't mean I dislike it.

When I think a game is garbage I stop playing it immediately and don't even look back. I have a lot of issues in Elden Ring especially because I know this fucking game inside out.

That sounds like the biggest "you problem" I've ever seen.

Hidden out of courtesy
Considering perfumes are now a weapon, I wonder if the spark aromatic will be removed or reclassified.

I must come clean: I did not beat the game because I used the mimic tear, bloodflame blade and hookclaws to beat Malenia.

It was the most fun I've ever had in that fight and in that area, especially trying to figure out how to deal with the pests in the swamp from range, but it doesn't matter because I used mechanics that only exist for babies and toddlers like (me). I'm handing in my gamer card.

I mean I do multiple runs in Dark Souls games. Elden Ring just has a lot of player choice. I know you are Jewish, but I don’t get the anti-consumer take on Elden Ring.

It's just a taste thing, he had a problem with 13 sentinels having too much choice on how you approach the narrative when I'd argue it's the most ingenious way of presenting a sci-fi narrative I've ever seen.

Some people just don't like big games or games with complex narratives, and people with autism like to complain a lot about inconsequential things that they don't like instead of just pretending it doesn't exist.

The difference is that a DS playthrough is few hours of very focused content, while Elden Ring I can't see myself playing again without a guide so I know which of the dozens of copy paste dungeons actually have important shit. I hope the dungeons and bosses will feel unique rather than be once again again a case where everything new is spread over a ton of filler.

Also I already have the build of like two years ago I beat Malenia with, can't see any of the bosses putting more of a challenge.

What choice? That game was completely linear and it had a lot of other gameplay and plot issues I wouldn't delve into here. I played way longer and convoluted VNs that did their plot much better.

God I fucking loved that game.

You will still have to learn the patterns for the new stuff. And maybe your last build is not a good fit into everything. Or maybe you just want to fuck around and try punching everything to death.

I enjoyed it quite a bit. Also, the order in which you get revelations really fucks around with your theorycrafting. Remember enjoying my time spent in the data center parsing through the data and reevaluating my understanding of the story.
