I finished the dlc two nights ago and it really wasn’t as hard as people are complaining about. Take radahn, the boss that people were saying “oh my god dood dis is too hard, please nerf” to. And yet by simply changing my build, I beat him fairly quickly. People just have to leave their comfort zone.

The big problem that's stuck out to me is it feels less like one big DLC and more like several small DLCs stapled together, like there was some plan to do something like the Crowns trilogy in DS2 but they ran out of time or money and decided to take all their unused ideas and put it in one place.
I think that's mainly due to the fact you have the main Miquella story for the DLC, and then around 3-4 side areas that are dedicated to completely different story lines. Usually, From DLC's just focus on one and an optional boss isn't completely in his own area and is tied into the DLC's main story. It's not so here, and it can lead to it feeling a bit all over the place.

Not sure if anyone has noticed or mentioned it, but the lock-on targeting in this DLC is all sort of fucked. It seems to prioritize the head part of a boss more than the closer body part that you want to aim for.
This is most noticeable with the Scadutree boss,
This is a massive problem with half the bosses, golden hippo's lock-on is his center mass and because of this you will miss attacks constantly and your camera will get stuck behind his head (which literally all of his attacks come from), The lack of polish on these bosses goes a long way to making them insufferable.

On the subject of regular enemies instead of bosses, the Hornsent Warriors can fuck off. Their poise is so busted I'm convinced somebody at From misplaced a decimal when putting in their stats.
Another thing about them is that once you get enough scadutree levels for the areas they're in, you can consistently stagger them with UGS or greatsword crouch poking. Seems like scadutree level also affect how much poise damage you can do on top of the raw damage output.

I will say, not enough silly hats / 10. Pretty bad DLC will have to wait for a hat game from From.
You can cosplay as red Klan member with the Flame Knight hood and the dancer set. That's good enough for me.

Gywn and Gherman were great thematic bosses with great soundtracks.
From's DLCs usually have a pretty hard final boss. Bllodborne's ultimate challenge was Kos.

I seriously do not understand the bitching at all when it comes to the bosses. Rellana I was consistently getting to a third of her health by the fourth try and finally knocked her out on the seventh. I was smart enough to use the shield they throw at you that blocks sorceries though, and jumping over her moon attack was EZPZ.

If you are shitting the bed THAT hard then just use an upgraded mimic tear. You want From to make the bosses braindead easy but you aren't willing to use the fucking easy mode they give you OR you're too retarded to use the tools the game gives you.

USE A SHIELD. This isn't Dark Souls 3. Shields are actually fucking super good. Seriously it has made the DLC much easier. Anything I'm not confident in dodging I simply block. You can't block the full combo usually with a basic shield and no specialization but I can block anything that I know I'll fuck up the roll on.

At this point I just have to assume you're all simply shitters. That's all there is to it. DLC is not any harder than regular endgame so far.

If you're looking for some good cheese to get through the DLC without summons:

-Go loot Bloodfiend's Arm from Prospect Village (On the furthest landmass west of Scorched Ruins)
-Put Lion's Claw AoW on and infuse that badboy with Blood (Savage Lion's Claw which is in the DLC may work too but I haven't tested it)
-Respec to generic tank and as high arcane as you can get; at 67 Arcane my +25 has 219 bleed buildup
-Use Stonebarb Cracked Tear in your physick for easier stance breaks
-Proceed to hyperarmor flip your way through 8/10 Remembrance bosses

Scadutree Avatar and Putrescent Knight I don't think are very bleedable, if at all. Fortunately they're weak to Fire and Holy respectively so find a way you like to deal with them.

Took me a while for some bosses to get good RNG on moves where you can not trade too much damage (mainly Radahn which I needed a ragequit day to cool off and come back to) but I'm pleased I was able to roflstomp it all eventually.

-----------------------------------------

Overall kind of unimpressed with the DLC for the largely nonsensical Miquella bullshit, and the IMO egregious re-use of enemies (the tease of some creature in the flooded Church only for it to be a fucking Tree Spirit, FOLLOWED BY ANOTHER ONE IN THE SAME AREA was the most frustrating example) but mostly for the whole region feeling super barren and not actually rewarding exploration like people claim. Sure you want to go find skibidi fragments but beyond that, there are so many areas where there's just fucking nothing. Huge areas of map that have literally nothing in them (Finger Ruins.....) and many others where you're seeing them place shit like glass shards and strings on corpses, or low-tier smithing stones in a DLC where you need to have killed Mohg to enter in the first place.

It feels like they put so much time and effort into making this theoretically cool and interesting geography that they forgot to make the world actually enjoyable to explore. Then tried to make the main bosses so 'hard' to fight that they forgot to make them 'fun' to fight. I pretty much had these opinions of the base game too and the DLC totally reinforced them.

My opinion that nobody asked for.

New Patch

Calibration Update 1.12.2 change list

Attack and damage negation curve scaling of the Shadow Realm Blessings have been revised.
  • The attack and damage negation has been increased for the first half of the maximum amount of Blessing enhancements, and the second half will now be more gradual.
  • The attack and damage negation granted by the final level of Blessing enhancements has been slightly increased.
Seems like their internal data is showing that people aren't willing to go digging around the map to collect sneedtree fragments. They even put out a Steam post telling people to farm that shit.

When they first said that the new elden ring dlc would "take inspiration from sekiro" I was extremely hyped, then it turned out that all they meant was that it would copy the spirit bead and memory system for damage and health, and somehow they even made that grindy and annoying to pad out the playtime.

You got a parry mechanic too!

i don't understand why they didn't treat the skibidi fragments like golden seeds and put more than you can actually use in the game. keep the cap at 20 but instead of 50 fragments they could've added an extra 25 in the world, now people can get their skibidi levels without having to consult a guide.

Has anyone here experienced any crashes on PC?

I've spent literally hundreds of hours in Elden Ring for the PC, like the absoulute manchild that I am, but yesterday was the first time the game had crashed on me. The screen just froze, the sound started looping in an extremely annoying way, and after a couple of seconds, the computer restarted itself. As far as I can see, nothing is obviously wrong with the hardware. Of course, it could still me a hardware issue though, but nothing stands out as far as I can see.

It dawned upon me that I hadn't downloaded the latest drivers for my GPU (Nvidia), and so I did. So far, I haven't experienced any crach since I downloaded the recent drivers (knock on wood), but who knows when the game will sperg out again.
I really hope it's merely an issue with the software.
