They need to stop making boss and enemies just attack spam and return to the Demon's Souls and Dark Souls 1 boss design.
If they do that all the alpha macho gamers that have been glazing fromsoft nonstop will start complaining that they are catering to the casuals and start throwing hissy fits that the new bosses are mickey mouse baby easy mode tourist gaming journalist tier.
Shadow of the sneedtree is natural culmination of a 20 year old design philosophy moving forward. Fromsoft fans keep saying how their games are totally easy and baby mode so fromsoft keeps increasing the difficulty, at the same time they keep defending the shitty multiple decade old combat so fromsoft has no motivation to improve it.
People are looking at demon and dark souls through rose tinted glasses. They were... intresting, 15 years ago because there wasn't much comptention when it came to weighty high commitment melee combat, monster hunter was the only real alternative but it was unrefined and was only on ps2, wii and portables, while also being a lot more arcadey without any lore or worldbuilding, and demon+dark souls were hardcarried by world design, but today? They're just outdated combat wise.
Elden ring is more or less running on a 2 decade year old combat model that fans refuse to admit is shit so fromsoft can't change it, so all they can do is make the bosses harder to make the games feel fresh.
This is also the same reason sekiro (and to a lesser extent bloodborne) ended up irreversibly damaging the franchise.
For the first time in nearly 2 decades, fromsoft designed combat that was more complex than "dodge, dodge, delay dodge, dodge delay dodge twice, dodge dodge, attack once, dodge, dodge, dodge, delay dodge, attack once, dodge, dodgel-" for their non-souls titles.
Naturally people ended up loving both titles, but mainline souls combat is a holy cow, so fromsoft can't change that, and that's how you ended with bloodborne bosses in ds3, sekiro bosses in elden ring and the lolfest that is sneedtree bosses, in games that are really not designed to handle them properly.
I assume everyone at this point has seen or heard of the mallenia mod for sekiro that just throws the boss wholesale into sekiro's combat engine and the whole thing just works perfectly.
At this point I'm just waiting for the shit flinging war between the alpha macho gamers and the super duper mega alpha macho gamers when elden ring 2 or dark souls 4 drops where bosses will consist of an uninterrupted 5 minute cutscene that kills you instantly if you touch it with a 0.5 second opening to do damage.
The way forward for fromsoft is sekiroborne, bloodborne suggested it, and sekiro just confirmed it, unfortunately both titles seem to be completely forgotten by fromsoft.
tl;dr Dark souls bosses were designed for a 15 year old experimental combat model that should have been updated 13 years ago, bloodborne and sekiro were the way forward but nonstop glazing has prevented fromsoft from actually improving the mainline series combat so now they're caught between a rock and a hard place, either reduce difficulty or update combat, neither of which can be done without pissing off all the streamers that do free marketing for them.
Half of the bosses have shitty low-effort cutscenes that fade to black every time a cool transformation is happening,
I was legitimately pissed when Midra's cinematic just cut to black right before the moneyshot, felt completely blueballed like the game bugged out or something.
You don't get credit for a cool setup if you bitch out the last second.
