I was trying to build around the warpick because warpicks and lucernes were goated in the other games. I quickly realized that they had the effective range and damage of a loaf of wonder bread.
And to add to this, give me one good reason frenzy couldn’t have acted something like frostbite. Just have it do some damage and maybe apply a debuff or something, there is no reason everything but players and NPCs don’t get affected by frenzy but sleep works on things.
One thing about recent Fromsoft games is that they kinda punish you for actually trying to use weapons that aren't colossal or designed around a busted gimmick like Rivers or Vyke's spear.

On your point about Frenzy and Sleep, I still think Sleep was very poorly implemented. The amount of buildup it takes to make something slow down slightly is obscene. But Frenzy only affecting "humans" is dumb as hell since we see in game that it can hurt every living thing.

Sleep is useless for a lot of reasons, but at least it does something. They had an awesome thing with frenzy, and the spells are really good, but now we have a whole class of magic that just doesn’t do the whole thing it’s built around. You’re just left with a flamethrower that gives only you a status effect, and I don’t care if it can proc a new talisman there’s so many better options even for that.

Godwyn already has an ending and questline dedicated to him. His story is already complete; there's no need for him to be revived.
Hard disagree, there are so many questions remaining about him that they could've expanded upon. Radahn was a lazy choice.

Radahn definitely didn't want to be Miquella's consort. If he did, Malenia would have had no reason to attack him.
I know we all want to believe that, but this infers otherwise. You could argue it's a faulty translation that doesn't outright confirm anything though.

Miquella couldn't even be assed to raise his sister, who was a much better character.

Also it was that easy to get rid of Scarlet Rot?

Well Lucerne wasn't too OP from the start. The thing with Lucerne in previous games was that it stacked HARD with the Leo Ring for counter damage.
Which they nerfed the Spear Talisman & Counter damage in short order pretty early on.
Dumb dumb RL 700 redditors were getting flustered because they would get insta deleted when they ran head first into a Charged R2 from a level 40+8 invader.
I think the setup was Barbaric Roar on Lucerne.
It gave the Charged R2 damn good hyper armor + some surprisingly fast forward momentum + tracking.
If you stacked that + spear Talisman + Godfrey Icon + psyjic and they just swung at you like brainless bots (max level redditors) It just flat out 1 shotted them and probably blew up their controller too.
It would also knock giant ass chunks from boss health bars as well.
I mean the setup still works pretty good but they hit both counter damage + the Talisman with a nerf.
I wanna say that they increased the counter frames on all attacks as a trade off.
The 2 handed Talisman might bring it back to life but I haven't tested it.

Apparently he could've cured the rot ages ago but Malenia stopped being his focus(?)
Why would Miquella cure the rot, turn the Kindred of Rot against him for ruining their goddess, and get rid of his one form of retaliation against the rest of the world as a godlet instead of stabilizing her condition and using the rot as a MAD threat against any other party and using his influence over Malenia to use the Kindred for his own goals? Hell even Gowry wants Millicent to use the golden needle because it stops the rot from progressing or it causes the rot to build up without activating... which helps produce the blooms I guess?
He didn't cure anything. He stuffed Radahn's soul in Mohg's corpse to resurrect him.
Miquella 'drained' the rot from Freja so technically he did but it's not applicable to Radahn.

Keep forgetting about it but Vaati put a dragon lore video. Like 99% of the lore in the game, it's recycled concepts from the lore in previous games just ungodly more convoluted

For example the point of "dragon scales make them immortal" in DS1 is to justify a dragon boss and its insane doctor lab areas. But in ER those still exist despite never having anything to do with any quest and just way to differentiate dragons. You also have Bloodborne style consuming creature blood for strength with cost of physical and mental change, but if that was the driving force of the plot, here it is just a boss reward mechanic that as far as I aware never amounts to anything.

Vaati is a guy who either steals theories from /v/ or just outright makes shit up and then gets paid to put out videos about his "findings"

So, with the DLC being out for a while and a few patches having been made, I was going to be making another character; going for another INT build. Was wanting to ask, is the Moonveil still the best INT, or did it get replaced with another weapon over the past several months? I'm more than willing to give the katana another shot, but are there any other/better alternatives?

i hear moonveil still slaps.

i'm using an INT character rn. my only melee weapons are loretta's glaive(?), dark moon gs, and the flail from astel. cuz all of em have decent int scaling, imo.

I'm doing an INT/FTH build and finally got to Renalla. Got to say, using the Sword Of Night And Flame makes the fight feel like an anime.
Old school one on one duel, I'm taking those fucking swords from you you bitch. Just because of my build this is probably the coolest fight I’ve had the whole run, there’s just fire and magic swirling around the arena, two knights clashing like Orlando Furioso.

>tarnished lights a match
>immediately fucking die

I understand why a sunflower would be weak to fire, but -40? At least give my boy a chance, everyone and their grandma has some type of fire in this game.
I don't know why but everything in the DLC feels weak to fire. Either that or I've just happened to build around it.

Anyways, pretty sure I haven't posted these but I made some A.I. songs:

Total Hornsent Death, May Chaos Take The World, etc

in my recent run, i notice that holy damage smacks around a buncha enemies in the expansion. like it really hurts gaius, the death knights, etc.
