Gosh, Eli, I just can't imagine why some women in 1904 - a time when women were treated as property and by law were not allowed to vote, have their own bank account, choose whether or not to have children, and when it was perfectly legal for their husbands to rape them as much as their hearts desired, when many women were pregnant every year from marriage until death (often dying in childbirth) while still working backbreaking hard labor jobs along with doing all the housework and childcare - would choose to disguise themselves as men and deny that they were women! Gee, I just can't figure it out, I guess they all just had deep inner man feelings, because obviously that's the only reason that property would presume to pretend at being people.
Rate me MATI if you'd like, this regressive sexist bullshit makes me absolutely crazy, particularly when they apply it to historical women who disguised themselves as men. Life as a woman in those times was literally hell, you weren't even considered to be full human being! And these men sit there from their position of total privilege and utter ignorance and proclaim that any women who tried to find a way to opt out of being treated like that by dressing as men were doing it because they had special gender feelings? You think those women would rather inject themselves with exogenous testosterone than, idk, be allowed to put money in the bank that their husbands couldn't pull right back out to spend down at the pub? You think they'd rather cut their tits off than be free from rape? Fuck outta here.
These shits always demonstrate thoroughly with posts like this not just their complete ignorance about what life is and was always like for women, but also their extreme privilege both as men and as trannies. They don't know or care about the history of women's rights in this country or the world at large, and they don't need to, because they've always had the same full legal rights all men have and many bonus ones on the side - for example, an ordinary man who didn't identify as specially gendered would not be allowed access to a women's shelter or permitted to study at a women's college, but men who identify as "transwomen" are allowed all of these extra rights*, and they face exactly zero of the actual oppression and denial of rights that real women face in their day to day lives. A trans-identified male like Eli doesn't have to worry about his access to abortion being denied, or fret about whether the pharmacy will deny him his birth control prescription; He doesn't have to be concerned about his local hospital will prioritize his life over that of a dead or dying fetus inside of him and work out which hospital he should go to so they don't let sepsis set in and kill him. And so on, and on, and on. This immense privilege is what makes it possible for men like this to just sit there and go, "Oh, obviously if any woman ever pretended to be a man in history, it was because she had the luxury of free time and privilege to kick back and navel-gaze about her gender feelings, that's the only possible reason this could ever happen!"
I really hope these men experience what it's like to be oppressed and disadvantaged in their lives someday. I really, truly hope that they do. And I hope that when it happens, they're logged in every system as the men that they are.
