I had a lot of thoughts upon reading that thing. "Pity" wasn't one of them. Rodger was a cesspool of a human being. But he was a cesspool of a human being that our entire culture had a hand in creating. He was pretty much capitalist values personified. Everything was about status to him, he was an obvious social darwinist, he literally thought you could buy happiness seemingly, and he constantly obsessed over wealth and material objects at the expense of empathy for and understand of other people.

Looking back, that aspect was the part that was constantly left out of the public conversation about this. People said he was just a misogynist, but if you read his manifesto his misogyny had less to do with women and more to do with his own narcissism and sense of entitlement. He resented that he couldn't buy love with flashy clothes and shit like that and that people who society says are lesser than him are getting laid while he can't. Rodger legitimately thought of women as objects. A fashionable commodity that for him was seemingly always out of stock. This guy didn't have much of an identity of his own. He was a boring motherfucker in his personal life and he tried to cover that up with narcissism, projected hatred, and materialism.

I'm really trying to find something defendable in this guy, I really am. Even other incels have more redeeming value as human beings than this guy, ironic, considering a good deal of them worship ER.

True that. I never said they had any credibility or were good people. I'm just saying you'd think they'd be better than that. But I can see how they can fall into the trap of sharing his views, as there's a lot of echo boxes out there for them like SlutHate and other similar sites. I could have easily met a similar fate at one point in my life.

There are people who legitimately have trouble getting laid, but work hard to at least try to be decent people. I am not talking about the so-called incels, mind you.

TL;DR, if you're focused too much on losing your virginity or trying to get a girlfriend, try to get away from it and see if there's other problems in your life you can solve instead. If nothing else, you'll at least feel better about yourself and your situation. In my mind, being too focused on being single seems more a symptom of other problems rather than a cause.

Don't base your life around whether or not people you find attractive feel the same about you. It can only make things worse.

Seriously though, I will never understand why it has to be blondes. I'm not really into them myself, but a huge part of his problem is that he was too wrapped up in his crazy fantasies. Could he have gotten himself a white girl of a different hair color, or maybe a different ethnicity?

I doubt it, but it's interesting to think about. Guys like that tend to spill all their crazy spaghetti out after a relatively short time.

Sorry can u explain the sacred bit about non privileged classes? I really dont undrstand what u mean. If anyone went and killed teenagers in a school regardless of motive I think most people would feel disgusted by that person.

I think your ignoring the fact that ER made a video diary which showed his personality and gave people a direct insight into his motives, views and obvious psychological problems.

I agree there really are no redeemable features to ER. He made a citizens arrest and called the police on his flat mate for using his candles. He would go on to stab that person 40 times and murder him. He really was just a spoilt little brat with no personality.

His only MITIGATION for what he did was mental illness. Which if you were able to stop attention seeking for 2 minutes with your shock views and opinions, you would realise is probably the reason he struggled with women so much.

That and his horrendous, irredeemable personality.

Honestly, I know a guy IRL who used to act super similar to the supreme gentlemen himself. I nicknamed him Elliot because he was so fucking thirsty. The dude would 'fall in love' with every new chick who'd join our group. He became really infatuated with women he liked and when asked why he wouldn't just approach them or whatever he'd start beating up on himself. I'm talking full-blown outbursts about how shit he felt he was and he deserved to die (I suppose that sets him and the ol' legend apart).

But honestly, he was quite scary for a while. Genuinely thought he was gonna kill me on one night out.

He has a girlfriend though now so everything seems to have worked out well for him which is nice.

I have been in that situation a few times so I understand how he was feeling. I don't have outbursts but definitely beat myself up over it if I'm not able to bring myself to go talk to a girl. It's weird because if you approach a girl and get humiliated and rejected, it still lifts the weight from your shoulder and you feel better right away even if you also feel kind of bad. The worst feeling of all is when you leave without saying anything.

It's sort of lose lose if she's not into you because either way you're going to feel bad in some way.
