The fireworks, propane and gas tanks just makes it seem like whoever did it used the leftovers from the new years family barbeque party for the explosion. You don't have to be any kind of professional to spend 15 minutes googling how to buy explosives instead of thinking that every flammable barrel goes off like it does in Half-Life.
