It's funny that you use the word "ratfuckery," because it sounds similar to a word for dirty tricks and sabotage in politics.

It is common use in Australia and refers to dirty tricks and sabotage in general. If you do it you're a ratfuck, engaging in it we refer to as ratfuckery. It did enter our vocabulary through the original political context, but given we're Australian and with our love of swearing it quickly got adopted for that type of behavior in general. Few other examples of Aussie swearing in the workplace:

1. Dogfucking- Doing nothing, pretending to work or doing meaningless easy jobs that dont actually help. Someone doing that is a dogfucker.

2. Where not here to fuck spiders- We're here to get something done, stop talking and work.

I’m not aware of any incidents or details surrounding teslas “randomly bursting into flames” where the battery wasn’t swollen or cracked already, that was at least the explanation for several incidents in Florida where people have tried to drive on a flooded road in a storm and the cars caught on fire. Don’t have to be driving it, either. A flood in the garage can set a Tesla on fire too.

Whether the anonymous source is real or not, we all know it is true: Elon is an insufferable and annoying and pretentious egomaniac, who really isn't even that smart.

The $1 million dollar (or should I say $400 billion dollar) question now is, how do you value a car company that is not led by a genius visionary, but by a hustling con artist who actually is a bit racist and may even admire fascist dictators like Hitler?

I would dare say that, unless and until he leaves, the stock of such a car company is worth $0.

The simple answer to that question is hype.

The main problem with Tesla is Elon, no questions about that. If the company was led by someone with a bit more brain than the average redditor Tesla will have a slow but steady rise in value as a luxury EV car company. What Elon did was to use hype for it's products and constant and blatant lies to hype up the company to investors. This works in the short run but in the long run you run with issues like not being able to keep up your promises (eg FSD), while the competition does things a bit slowly but actually delivers (look at Chinese and European car manufacturers).

If Elon is kicked out as CEO by the board, Tesla will loose about 80% of its value since it is linked to the hype generated by our autistic, ketamine taking lolcow.

Top 3 automakers by sales, and their market valuations (2024):
1. Toyota , 10 million vehicles, $210 billion market cap
2. Volkswagen, 9 million vehicles, $60 billion market cap
3. Hyundai, 7 million vehicles, $30 billion market cap

Top 3 total: 26 million vehicles, $300 billion market cap

By contrast, Tesla sold 1.8 million vehicles in 2024, and has a $900 billion market cap.

That is correct. Tesla sells 7% of the vehicles that the Top 3 do, and their market cap is 3x Toyota, Volkswagen, and Hyundai combined. And it's not like Tesla is awash in profit, either... despite all the subsidies, Tesla is no more profitable than the other automakers. If you were to value Tesla for what it actually is, a decent EV car maker, and value it the same way as the Big 3 automakers, you get not a stock price of $250, but just $6. Not $60... $6. Ok, maybe that's not fair, since Tesla makes EVs, and EVs are better than ordinary ICE (internal combustion engine) vehicles, right??? So maybe $12? Or $24, tops.

But, but, the self-driving taxis!!! And the robots!!! Yeah, yeah. Only the most retarded fanboys still believe Elon's ridiculous hype, and think 90% of the value of Tesla is in technology that isn't proven yet, or doesn't even exist...
