Encounters With SJWs/Tumblristas Offline or In Unusual Communities

Had to take some bullshit electives for my bullshit college degree.

Decided on "Sociology 101", thinking it would be like psychology but fewer sciencey terms like "corpus callosum" and more people reacting to things and the reason why.

Nope. It is fucking SJW 101. We are going to be focusing on things like "privilege" and "oppression" in terms of race, gender, and sexuality...since it is the professor's personal focus of study. Too late to find another class, everything is either full, conflicting, or not available to my major. And there is mandatory group discussion work.

Well, it is time to start going to class baked as fuck and just bullshit my way through. I can speak Tumblrese pretty well, it'll just be hard to do it with actual conviction.

Pissed off a lesbian radfem I know through mutual friends yesterday. We were talking about current events and she said that she's terrified of Donald Trump because he's pro life and she's a single issue voter on abortion. My response was "why?" So she sneered at me and stormed off. Why the hell would a lesbian be a single issue voter on abortion, You can't get pregnant from oral. That's like my unemployed ex con cousin being a single issue voter on the capital gains tax.

There's the option of rape. If you believe that gay people can be more likely to be sexually assaulted, then a lesbian might be more likely to get raped. But that's if you believe that sort of thing.

It's a fair point but I'm of the opinion that rapists don't have magic gay seeking radar personally.

I admit I sometimes get my vocabulary confused when dealing with exceptional communities, but I thought "radfems," especially of the lesbian variety, might be the single group most loathed on the planet by SJWs at this point? Though a self-described "radical feminist" is a "TERF" in the eyes of most SJWs it seems.

It's one of the biggest issues that affects females exclusively. If she's radfem as you say, she's probably intensely loyal to women, because they are women.

Is she one of those thirsty lesbians who laments girls being straight? I hate those.

I met up with a friend, A, for coffee and she ended up bringing along another one of her friends, B, and we got on the subject of the death penalty, mostly due to Dylann Roof's execution being a decent talking point. Both I and A were discussing whether it was moral to kill someone in general, and B started freaking out.

She ended up raising her voice to an extremely uncomfortable level to the point where other people were all staring at us, saying that "You don't think nazis deserve to die? Are you serious? This is the most liberal thing I've ever heard. Why do you think this? Explain yourself!" And I said, "I don't believe anyone should die due to their beliefs, or having the wrong opinions. I think that rehabilitation of violent offenders should be a bigger priority than just moral outrage and exterminating people based on wrongthink. Debate is how a modern, civilized society handles issues."

Then, she said, "You sound like a fucking nazi yourself! "Civilized"...that's seriously the most racist wording you could have chosen! As if any other societies other than ours aren't valid! Maybe you should stop and think about why you're defending nazis right to an opinion! People like that don't deserve to live and spread their filth, they should be exterminated! I can't believe this is a controversial opinion nowadays!"

A threw her hands up at that point and walked away. B walked after her, and gave me a nasty look. I'm pretty sure she thought A was on her side, and that's why they were leaving - but A texted me later telling me that she was arguing with B the entire ride back that B's argument is basically "anyone we don't like should die" and someone having that viewpoint in power is basically the worst thing that could happen for humanity. I thought it was ridiculous that someone who advocated for genocide called someone who advocated for rehabilitation a Nazi. What do words mean?

Was B a fatass? I keep imagining her being a fatass.

That's sad to hear because with the right professor Sociology can be a treasure of a discipline. Based Durkheim, for example, invented the analytical tools of modern-day sociology to prove that suicide is linked to social anomie (chronic unemployment, insurmountable bachelorhood, radical political views) unwittingly giving us a toolkit useful for the study of transtrenders and other aberrations.

I wonder if she'd be so eager to pull that lever if it was a minority who'd beaten his wife/girlfriend to death.

Don't get me wrong, Dylan Roof deserved to lose his life, be it through a noose or life in prison, but one has to wonder whether she'd only be willing to kill someone if they were a white nationalist type, instead of a PoC?

This sort of thing is what I took the damn class to learn about. Damn it!

And people wonder why the Soviet Union had gulags...

Alternately, she could be one of those radfems who actually are straight but would never admit to it publicly.

I got into a shouting match with a co-worker of mine on the ethics of punching Nazis in the face during our lunch break recently. We'd had polite political discussions before, but we'd also disagreed plenty of times, still being cordial and all. So this kind of blindsided me when what I thought was going to be a friendly but lively debate turned into him shouting down at me (very RUDELY and HOARSELY) and shoving his phone in my face demanding I read a poorly drawn meme.

In hindsight, I should have expected it. Dude spews Tumblr buzzwords pretty casually.

The highlight of the argument was when he kept trying to interrupt me and I finally cried out "STOP MANSPLAINING ME!"

The joke went over as well as a lead balloon. He was fuming, throwing his arms up in the air like "OH, YOU WON BY DEFAULT! I GUESS I SHOULD SHUT UP THEN, HUH?"

Note: SJWs do not like it when you use their own tactics against them, especially if you're jokey about it.

This happened over a week ago and our interactions have been quite chilly since.

....and shoving his phone in my face demanding I read a poorly drawn meme.
...

The fact that he tried to argue with memes just shows he had no argument at all and basically wanted to win by default. Like, how exceptional do you have to be to think you can make argument with meme?? Whats with these types of people?

Seriously, fuck him. Just ignore him and don't let him bait you into arguing again. He should dig out his own grave.

I, like a dipshit, randomly picked a diversity course this year. I ended up in gender and women's studies. One of the portions of text we were assigned was about 'penile drift', or the tendency for conversation to be forcibly and constantly brought back to being about men when it begins to be about women. The example they gave in the textbooks was that 'domestic abuse' is not a real thing. It's a fucking method used by the patriarchy to make the proper term, 'wife beating', focused on them because women are NEVER abusers. Men are ALWAYS the ones abusing women, amirite?

Cue me quietly doing some research.

And then tomorrow during the class discussion where these women ( and some men, RIP ) are happily providing examples of penises staying out of their lane. When someone brought up the whole domestic abuse is entirely a male thing, I raised my hand and pointed out that, according to the CDC, "the lifetime prevalence of rape, physical violence, or stalking by an intimate partner was 43.8 percent for lesbians, 61.1 percent for bisexual women, and 35 percent for heterosexual women." So can someone explain how women in relationship with other women have a lot higher abuse if it's an exclusively male issue and doesn't like, have nothing to do with gender at all?

Cue incoherent arguing over each other getting louder and louder until the professor changes the topic.
