In one of my classes right now, I'm basically seated between two run of the mill tumblr users, one being openly pansexual and the other one being an outspoken feminist. Around the start of the semester, one of them started talking about tumblr's crackdown on NSFW blogs and started whining about it. I really didn't give it much attention, as I was trying to focus on catching up on the notes in class. Then I hear "This porn ban will just make it harder for people of color to express themselves" out of nowhere, and their conversation then devolved into how tumblr's staff is racist and homophobic.

Last November at a dress rehearsal for a play I was in, I was discussing pop culture and entertainment media throughout history with a cast member on break. I said I liked the 50s as a decade the best because of the fashion and aesthetic (diners, neon signs, dresses, etc), but I liked the films from the 40s better overall. He agreed and said he also liked the 60s (?). Another cast member, a girl about two years younger than me, was floating around our orbit, joined in on the conversation to remind us about the oppression of womyn in the 50s and oppression of muh peeohsee. Don't remember exactly how she started her sentence but basically that. I said "Ok but...we're talking about pop culture and movies."

She would interject muh feminism and muh womyn and muh gun control and muh men into random discussions constantly and others (including me) would always respond back with either indifference or the reasons why what she's talking about is a non-issue and/or horseshit. She wouldn't respond to me with anything; I think my being a womyn and having these beliefs freaked her out. I call her "blooming" because she still engages in non-SJW activities and isn't hostile atm.

Also, I met an old HS friend at a cafe a few weeks ago. We go to the same college but I never see them, so this was a "wow haven't seen you in a year" occasion. They were there with a friend. They wanted to show me their DND OCs. Fine, cool. I like DND. I want to support my art friend. My friend's friend's OC has vitiligo and it's the Stefanos Galaxy art style.

Well...see my friend would be in the middle of a venn diagram between Normal and SJW herself. For example, she thinks genderfluid is a thing.

I would argue that's a huge difference because reading books to children doesn't involve the same kind of performance as a drag show, and libraries aren't 21+ and serving alcohol. If a drag queen is behaving appropriately and just reading books, then I don't see the harm in it.

Besides, it's not like whole generations of children have grown up seeing drag in cartoons.

Anyway; I live in a small town in a rural part of America, work a simple job I don't hate and just live my life. I was not... directly involved with the blue hair involved, but it was something to see. I was at the counter one day, cleaning while it was slow, when this chick who barely had her chin above the counter came up to me. Dark blue hair, fucking color contacts on her eyes (Like the Twilight fags wear. I think one was purple and the other red.) fucking shit loads of piercings and those stupid studs on her skin. Leather pants and tall fucking wedges. (This chick was very short.) She comes up to me and before I can even ask what she needed she yells; "FUR IS MURDER YOU FUCKING FASCIST!" I work in a Butcher Store/barbecue place. (Fuck you Texas our ribs are better.) Not a fur factory. After she yelled she turned and ran down the aisle. She makes it to the front of the store, woddling like a penguin, but I won't say why since I don't fat shame, and she tripped and face planted on the floor.

I cannot express how fucking funny it was. It was so bizarre and completely out of nowhere. I'm still torn on if she was serious, or just trying to fuck with me. At least before she fell. Apparently some teeth were broken. Either way, my coworkers and I still laugh about it. Manager even let us look at the camera footage. Fucking. Amazing.

I looked at a bulletin board today for a club in my university that tries to help minority students do well in college.

So, seems good, this is a state with a lot of racial problems especially related to education at the pre-college level, and all the officers were normal, talking about how they're the first in their family to go to college or moved to the US when they were 10 or whatever, and then...

the only white officer was a guy named matt with facial hair and a septum piercing. except, oh, the biography referred to him with they/them pronouns! and it said he was a gender studies major, which is a very, very small program at my school, but...of course. and it said he's a 'bagel-boi', using that spelling, at one of the student-run restaurants. i cringed so hard just reading it. like here are these people trying to help out other people who grew up in the same circumstances as them, and they have to deal with this kid who's clearly doing it for woke points and probably gets mad when people 'misgender' him.

My university is mainly known for the fine arts program. Already, even in the rust belt, there's a lot of dangerhairs of both sexes and most tend to weigh in at about 200 or more pounds.

One of the drawing classes will have nude models to come in and have you work on your anatomy. The model for the day was a slightly heavy woman who didn't shave her legs or pits. I don't say anything and just start. The models will sometimes introduce themselves, but she didn't and just started posing. One of the people besides me are a transman. They were just starting HRT and were going to get top surgery done sometime this year after they transferred to a more animation/movie industry school. He mentioned how he rarely saw any trans model and would like to see more. The model actually starts talking loudly once she heard that. Actually saying "Did you assume my gender?" At this point the guy is just trying to apologize because this woman looks like a woman. She doesn't have any signs of binding, no HRT effects, and she just waltzed in and started without introducing herself. The apology doesn't seem to fly and she just belittles this poor guy in front of everyone for assuming she was normal.

The poor fucker would later just drop the class. He had to go through a meetings since it was past the period to drop them, having to show it wasn't because he was failing and was more related to his family being out of state and constantly going into the hospital. When he and I talked about it he would also mention that the woman was a usual model and she just made him feel uncomfortable every time she came in. Sometimes purposefully fucking with him by moving slightly.

TLDR: A woman genderspeshal freaked out at an actual trans person and makes them feel unwelcomed in a space that they once loved.

We live in a very black or white time. Everything is becoming "Is it GOOD or BAD" with no levels in-between.
