End of the line for Internet Explorer in 2022

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.
Starting from some recent version of Windows 10 running iexplore.exe will open Edge. Assuming that IE mode can be triggered from arguments and it's not entirely some mangled ActiveX control, IE11 isn't quite dead yet. Those critical government applications written in 1991 still have a few more decades to go!

Well?

But now where am I going to watch all my RealVideos without the RealPlayer ActiveX plugin?
Use the VLC NPAPI plugin.
It's only still around because there is still so much industrial and enterprise shit that only works in it. Hell, I used to have to use a IP based system that is still an active product that was still using Silverlight. Sliverlight only works in IE now. And it was really retarded because what it was doing could easily be done with HTML5 and Javascript or PHP or something. It wasn't anything special.
Nah, Silverlight was great. You could create something that would work with nice simple SOAP web services and reuse a lot of the business code in a proper, desktop, WinForms app. The only thing wrong with Silverlight was that it was based on gay WPF, they should have brought WinForms to the browser.
