Epic! 8-bitguy uses 1 weird trick to detroy rare prototypes!

I assume he has a full-time, non-youtube job though?
I think he quit a few years back.

His videos are good value. He's honest, doesn't get into faggotry about the stuff he reviews, and he regularly makes fun of American comments who can't grasp that other countries aren't America.

He has a collection of chronic health issues, so if he disappears one day and never comes back, maybe check the death notices and post it in the RIP thread.

I respect how Techmoan doesn't milk his health issues for sympathy or grifting purposes. The only people that usually hear about his aliments are his Patreon members. He's a real one.

I think it is deffintly because he still views his youtube channel as less of a job and more of a hobby still. He probably enjoys the money he gets from it. But he is clearly got a retirement pension that pays for his house and food.
I have watched him for years now, he does get flustered with spastic comments that try to AKKKTUALY him. But anyone would, because the AKKKTUALLY comments are usually fucking wrong and he takes great pleasure in proving them wrong.

Way back when he used to do a lot more dash cam reviews, it was obvious that he and his missus had a nice couple cars and motorcycles, so I'd guess the house has long been paid off, even before becoming a YouTuber.

I do hope he stays well, his channel is still one of the nicest on YouTube.

That'd explain why David has been so quiet as of late. Hope it goes well for him.

He mentioned it in one of the previous videos, but it was towards the end (also promoting the other channel). It looks like it's come together really well. I hope it works out for them too.

Gonna quote this again just in case anyone is travelling in these areas and wants to visit retro arcades.
Most of the retro arcades I've seen are in good condition. In my travels, the best I've found are the Las Vegas Pinball Museum (they have a cool machine that will break a $20), and the Pinball Palace in Brunswick, Georgia. If I ever make it out to Texas, I do want to check out Time Rift.

The only one I know about is diabetes, and that's because he mentioned it before and after taking a bite out of the playable chocolate record that one time.
Chronic nasal issues along with the Type 1 Diabeetus, and IIRC he's either going deaf in one ear or blind in one eye (I forget which, but it's pretty serious). The fact I can't remember whether it's the eyes or the ears that are going says a lot about Techmoan's integrity. Many creators have started grifts over far less serious health conditions.

I think it's his hearing in one ear, maybe not entirely deaf but definitely reduced hearing. He's commented multiple times about it in past videos.

I remember when his Dad was dying he wrote up a message saying something like "looking after a family member, I'm fine but it might be a while before any new videos". I can really respect someone who doesn't seek pity from internet strangers.

That's all Gen X youtubers. A single bad comment will cause them to sperg out in their next video, usually front-loading it with a 5 minute bitch about that comment and letting everyone know how not-mad it made them. Love Techmoan but him and Atomic Shrimp are really good examples of this phenomenon.

Reminds me of how just a couple days ago Shelby made a joke Halloween card in his Apple II video and had to explain it is, in fact, a joke.

Dallas on average has 135 sunny days per year, 97 partly sunny days, leaving 133 cloudy days per year. He will be lucky to get full production 200 days per year.
You can get decent production even in cloudy days. It really doesn't matter, it is just free energy to offset your bills.
All-in-one units easily run $5k
It's 1k$ for 10kW

David opened an arcade in the Dallas-Fort Worth area:
There is a youtube channel called John's Arcade. He was one of the early pioneers in Youtube vintage arcade game restoration content. He has a rather sizable collection of arcade games in his basement.

Eventually he turned pro and started his own Coinop business supplying bars in his area. As soon as he started that, activity on his channel quickly slowed to a halt. He attempted to revive his channel a couple of times, but it couldn't stick.

I could tell though in his later videos that the daily grind of managing his own arcade amusement company pretty much killed his enthusiasm. He has said he doesn't spend any time in his basement arcade anymore. I don't blame him. You can take only so much of fixing broken coin mechanisms, rebuilding monitor chassis, and repairing flaky decades old electronics for your customers. That is the danger in turning a hobby into a business.
