Really impressive optimism on Tony's part to think that "this poll actually shows only 41% support total bans on youth gender affirming care" counts as a win.
This fucking dumbass who once ran "Benchmark Polling" as his claim to fame didn't even look at the crosstabs. Democrats and young people are more likely to consider "transgender issues" as important:

2020 Biden voters rate it 5% vs. 2% for 2020 Trump voters. And basically nobody but "Liberal" Democrats support Tony's position:
1691361598851.png
2020 Biden voters split 47-40-13, so a majority of 2020 Biden voters oppose Tony's position.

And even Tony's beloved hope-providing kids think the Democrats have moved too far left on cultural and social issues:

WE CAN'T STOP WINNING!

To be fair, 53% of the survey respondents, and two-thirds or more of those under 45, are complete morons:

Comedian Adam Carolla used to refer to them as the "Participation Trophy Generation"

Adam Carolla’s rant and a Participation Trophy Generation response

Adam Carolla hates plastic trophies. I just listened to the comedian’s rant against Occupy Wall Street, and I feel as though I deserve some sort of badge — which would just prove Carolla’s point.

His rant encapsulates everything people object to about this generation. "We've created a bunch of [verbing] self-entitled monsters," Carolla exclaims. " 'I want my Most Valuable Player trophy.' 'Well, you're the slowest, fattest guy on the team.' 'Why should he get one and I don't?' 'Because he busts his [patoot] and he runs a 4.4 40. That's why he gets one.' 'Well, this is [excrement].' And then everyone gets involved and everyone gives everyone a participation trophy and then everyone feels good about themselves but it's not based on anything. You should feel good about yourself because of your accomplishments. Not because someone yelled at you to feel good about yourself and you got a fake [engaging in intimate acts] piece of plastic that was sprayed gold and had your name on a plaque at the bottom.

...it's not a fetish!
What’s particularly funny is that there’s 2.5 years between that Reddit post and Tony’s swimsuit selfies, and he was on the “magic bigger boobs pill” (progesterone) for most of that time at least a year beforehand (see below).

Anyway, according to Tony, it’s entirely legitimate to transition because it’s your fetish:
I'd spotted before that Tony had expressed some Deep Thoughts on autogynephilia, and sort of passed over them, but I just noticed that he admitted it is a fetish for him

Ok. We gotta have a conversation about "fetish" and the trans community.
Being trans is NOT a fetish. However, there's a reason why the word gets weaponized.
It causes trans people to self-question and say "what if this is all just a fetish" as a reason to not transition. 🧵

Erin Reed (@ErinInTheMorn) · Aug 4, 2021 · 9:04 PM UTC
If we don't start having honest conversations about our histories and how we process pre-transition shame and guilt, then there will continue to be huge swaths of trans people that feel like transition is "not legitimate" for them because "they just have a disgusting fetish."

Erin Reed (@ErinInTheMorn) · Aug 4, 2021 · 9:05 PM UTC
Fetishes are spaces where very few people, if anyone, ever enter.
They are one of the few "safe spaces" any of us have to express things that are otherwise super guilt-ridden, shameful, etc.
A LOT of trans people handle repression of their identities this way.

Erin Reed (@ErinInTheMorn) · Aug 4, 2021 · 9:06 PM UTC
When I was seeing my therapist, I told her how when I was 12, I KNEW I was trans and went by Erin online everywhere. But as I got older, the spaces in which I felt free to be my gender shrank more and more, until the "fetish" box was the only place it existed.
Shamefully.

Erin Reed (@ErinInTheMorn) · Aug 4, 2021 · 9:09 PM UTC
This process is known as "extinction." The spaces in which our traits, even whole identities, shrink as we discover more and more places in which those traits or identities cannot be expressed.
Fuck, for some of us that "fetish" box is what kept us from going extinct entirely.

Erin Reed (@ErinInTheMorn) · Aug 4, 2021 · 9:09 PM UTC
That's because the "fetish" zone is one of the few places very few people enter, and therefore is one of last places where an identity can live without facing extinction.

Erin Reed (@ErinInTheMorn) · Aug 4, 2021 · 9:11 PM UTC
This is where Blanchard erred the most.
Being trans does not arise from having some sort of "AGP fetish."
More likely, the fetish space arises from having nowhere else to put our identities without being grilled for it.

Erin Reed (@ErinInTheMorn) · Aug 4, 2021 · 9:12 PM UTC
Y'all. If we keep shaming trans people for EVER acting on their own gender in a sexual manner, we're doing the bigots work for them.
You don't have to be agents of Blanchard himself.
Being trans isn't a fetish. Society forces some of us to treat it as one to live.

Zooey and I on the beach in Florida - we are here to speak about Pride and resilience at Pride On The Block in the heart of the state where the worst laws have passed.
Yet here we are, happy, standing up for those affected.
Our joy is resistance.
See you soon!

Tony has a bizarre habit of making testable claims that are not grounded in reality or flat out delusional.

"Already lost and they know it" is a delusional claim for several obvious reasons.

Bostick and Obergafell are not sounds reference points for the troons because those kind of outcomes require 5 - 4 split and Ruth Bader Ginsburg being among the living. Now we have a 6 - 3 split and RGB is unavailable for comment.

"Being queer or trans is now more accepted than ever" is laid to rest with a quick google search.

UMass Poll: 60% of adults believe gender cannot be changed

Some of Tony's stompy foot tweets suggest that he does in fact see the writing on the wall and it is not favorable to him.

So "ban all gender transition treatments for minors" is clearly the most popular position, and 73% support at least "stronger regulations on puberty blockers, transgender surgeries, and sports participation for transgender minors".
Even if it really was only 41% :story: that's still only 10 points away from a plurality. if the margin or error is 5%, it could be as close as 5% away from a plurality.

Even with that, the real test is comparing that number with the last survey that asked the question. If it's going up, then bad news bears for Tony (it is from what I understand from another survey I saw while the site wasn't on clearnet). If it's going down, then you can crow about it.

I don't understand much about survey data and analysis, but I know enough to not make the mistake Tony did. Isn't this the sort of thing he's got degrees in? I find my opinion of LSU becoming more tilted to being a school for retards.

Later in that thread he claims it's because his generation (Millennials) and Gen Z accept trannies:

The reactionary anti-LGBTQ push is only because they’ve lost already and they know it.
You’ll never push this back into the bottle again.
Being trans, queer, it’s accepted now, way more than ever.
That’s why they push eliminationism so hard - they think it’s their only chance.

Erin Reed (@ErinInTheMorn) · Aug 7, 2023 · 4:26 PM UTC
They can make the laws and hurt a lot of us but the truth is, my generation and Gen Z know it’s only a matter of time.
We will outlive the hate.
And we will change the world and make it better, so that people in the future never need to hide this part of themselves again.

Erin Reed (@ErinInTheMorn) · Aug 7, 2023 · 4:27 PM UTC
So go ahead and have at it, be cruel, those who seek our elimination. Satisfy whatever hate you have in your hearts.
Because it is your last time to drink from this well and you know it.
The future belongs to us.

But if we look at the recent survey, we have 64% of those aged 18–29 and 72% of those aged 30–44 supporting at least "stronger regulations on puberty blockers [and] transition surgeries" for trans-identified children. Edit: forgot to include my carefully stitched together screenshot:

lol how did I not notice the sacred percentage? Anyway, it's already a plurality, 10 points away from a straight majority 🤓

Yeah, and I think it's difficult to argue that the culture is becoming more pro-troon over time. This came up the other day when we were talking about the Littman ROGD paper — the research was done in 2016, when it was basically not possible to oppose transgenderism in public and keep your job.

The important thing is the sacred percentage was noticed.

I guess I'm not sure what the difference between a plurality and a majority is. I originally said majority, which goes to show I'm no smarter now than when I was in college back in the stone age. On tests if I didn’t know the answer, but second guessed myself, I'd always get it wrong. My first guess was almost always right.

@Geranium its not letting me quote for some reason but i was going for this bit:

"Satisfy whatever hate you have in your hearts."

i previously never had hate in my heart for trans people, i thought they were people going through something impossibly difficult. i gave them massive sympathy despite having a deep fear of males for personal reasons and being vaguely aware that this was a route by which they were putting me at risk.

then i got told, by a trans person, to do my research because i didn't understand trans stuff- wouldn't deny the objective reality of biological sex. i had no hate in my heart, but love for my fellow man and a desire to practise compassion.

and then, when i read what was happening. i grew hate. i went from sympathetic but ignorant to fully educated and burning with hatred. tony, your kind put the hate there, not just for me but for the vast majority of people who disagree with you. you asked and we answered, and now you won't take responsibility for asking, or for trying to abolish the rights women and the LGB fought for.

is standing our ground cruel? did the women who fought for our right to participate in public life,, to vote, get degrees, have our own money, control over our bodies abilities to give birth, get it wrong? if so, explain it properly, don't devolve to platitudes and blatant falsehoods. lay down one argument without circular reasoning.

emmeline pankhurst said "deeds, not words, was to be our permanent motto"- where are the trans people laying down their lives like their previous generations of civil rights activists? what, we've had one mass shooter who was maybe nonbinary?

p.s. this is mostly for the troons that stalk kf rather than a direct reply to the thread. i just wanna see a fucking decent argument or even honesty about the consequences of their ideology from one of them. rainbows/tmi/moti/dumb reacts welcome.

its not letting me quote for some reason but i was going for this bit:
To quote long posts highlight the part you want to quote, right under that a quote/reply box pops up.

However, last night I forgot that I knew that when I posted about the tranny study discussion on reddit. So we're both retards, but smart and loved ones.

i previously never had hate in my heart for trans people
Wait a minute...
i grew hate.
Many such cases. The terfs on Twitter call this affect "operation let them speak" because eventually everyone except the lost causes changes their opinion from tolerance or full acceptance to dislike at best, hatred at worst.

A study of lgbt attitudes early this year said acceptance is going down from previous years, for the first time since 2009 or whenever same-sex marriage was legal. It's unclear if it's LGB acceptance or TQ acceptance going down, but I bet if they were to drill down they'd find it's just the TQs that people are no longer accepting of.

Ah, well, guess we don't need your "reporting" or "research" then. It'll just work out eventually, nobody has to do anything. Tony Marx should start writing really angry virulent responses at anyone who suggests activism should be done rather than waiting for the triumph of the historical forces.

Only ~7% of the people who viewed this tweet liked it.

RCTs are not ethical for so many medications out there. Furthermore, it is impossible to double blind RCT hormone therapy... the effects are extremely obvious.
@erininthemorn Aug 4, 2023 · 9:42 PM UTC
"the effects are extremely obvious" :story:
Hahahahaha ....
Not to mention that we can conduct RCTs for all sorts of treatments with obvious effects! Observation of the effects is in large part the rationale for the RCT in the first place, because it facilitates controlling for the placebo effect.
