Now onto Tony's "not a traditional peer reviewed journal" business, he failed to specify the meaning of the word "traditional" - its been made clear that its peer reviewed, I'm not sure any journal post 1980s (i.e. any current journal) is "traditional" because they all should have published something that contradicts or challenges the status quo many times. I think what he means is "established in the context of a field that is in its infancy" which is absolutely the best time to establish a new journal. Not that the field of "not giving a fuck about the feefees of troons" should be an actual field but you know, current year etc.

What I would like, to ensure that I don't commit thoughtcrimes in the future, is for Tony to precisely define "real, credible journal" for us.

I live in a terrible niche where I can literally pull the data and repeat the methods described when articles of interest get published. Unfortunately I then only have more than a decade of post doc experience to fall back on when I evaluate the methods and analytical results. I'd really appreciate our almost PhD friend to give me some guidelines as to when I can trust a research paper so I don't have to put in these minutes of effort, think of the extra shitposting time I'd get.

The short of it is that the parents are divorced and they disagree on how to handle their child’s trans-identification. The mother argued that because they disagree, and because the NHS now treats pediatric medical transition as a controversial and experimental treatment, that the father shouldn’t just be able to override her wishes and go private (which in practice would mean a pill mill such as GenderGP).
