We can’t conclude whether this means either (a) subjects who had SRS in earlier years had worse outcomes or (b) worse outcomes are a function of time since surgery.

though i really hate any money being wasted on studying troons, it would be interesting to see longer timelines, and how these statistics vary for more recent SRS victims. simply because the removal of gatekeeping them, increased insurance coverage, and massive rise in troon online hugboxes where any mention that these surgeries carry huge risks is verboten, may be having a significant effect.

i can't imagine any of those factors having a positive impact on suicide rates. but i'm not going to make any such claims without data.

I don't think our scientifically proven literature has anything on admitting error or that others might be right

this is such a perfect summing up of tony's modus operandi for spreading misinformation. just beautiful.

It's pretty much all sophistry because at some level that's all they think there is even if they don't know they think this. Their ever shifting stories and personalities are all part of the same mentality that has them latching onto a FACT and GOTCHA and discarding it tomorrow if they need to. Everything and anything should be completely malleable to whatever purposes they need it to be at this moment.

one thing that really puzzles me are whether the yknow they are doing this and embrace it shamelessly and brazenly. or whether their brains are so fucked by narcissism, HRT, lack of self-interrogation, and echo chamber mentality that they think they are forming coherent arguments in an intellectually honest manner that remain consistent over time.

or indeed whether its possible with the level of cognitive dissonance you must be able to hold to think other people should believe you're the opposite sex to be doing both of the above. its why troons are so fascinating, to me at least.

I doubt we'll ever see those figures, because gender medicine quacks basically don't record patient outcomes. This was especially egregious in the Bell v Tavistock case, where the High Court judge asked for really basic figures, only for GIDS to say that they didn't hold them. This lack of record-keeping should be criminal.

This is the only thing I'd put an asterisk on as he's still quite insecure, just not in the regular way. His ego is still baby frail on the inside, his depression is lashing out and engaging in riskier behaviors, his insecurity is constantly schmoozing and mimicking others to pray and hope no one notices the empty traits he has on the inside. You're right that it's externalized and usually a sympathy ploy. Otherwise, spot on with everything.
I consider him, and the bulk of these troons, to be falsely insecure because insecurity requires a deeper sense of self. They contemplate superficial changes, it looks otherwise because they jump from persona to persona and do drastic consequence ignoring actions like cut off their penis or announce they're leaving Twitter but it's always more of working as if there's just one little change to make and everything will naturally fall into place once everyone (finally) recognizes the brilliance before them. One need not ever deeply change one's self, of course, but when one claims the level of complete recurring debacle supposedly the focus of all that they seek you would think it would inspire more introspection about one's sense of self and the role of this unchanging variable but alas:
"There is an idea of an Anthony Reed; some kind of abstraction. But there is no real me: only an entity, something illusory. And though I can hide my cold gaze, and you can shake my hand and feel flesh gripping yours and maybe you can even sense our lifestyles are probably comparable... I simply am not there."

Notice how he uses the word likely but doesn't offer any evidence that it was due to that. This reminds of when we ask for evidence of all those dead bodies of trans people who back then weren't able to get this "life saving care".

Modern transgenderism (which totally isn't a medical disorder but also requires drastic care) seems to be one of the few totally-real medical or psychiatric conditions we can find little evidence of in historical records. We literally have an ancient method of detecting cystic fibrosis in infants thanks to people observing the condition centuries ago, but apparently no monks or scribes ever bothered writing something about all the teenagers in the village who topped themselves because they had the wrong sex organs. The best we have is Emperor Elagabalus of Rome asking for a physician to give him a vagina, and assuming that wasn't slander, he sounds exactly like a modern AGP. Not a great precedent.

@glioblastoma multiforme I honestly don't think he's purposefully being deceptive

His entire sense of self seems to be rooted in seeing himself as the special clever kid who beat all the odds. If you haven't had an education in research methods and stats, then you can't usefully engage with research. This isn't an insult or anything, it's just a fact. The first thing you'll do in a science based degree is learn to think like this, and it's horribly unintuitive because the human brain is basically an estimator that makes a shit ton of type one errors and works on vagarities and schema. Which it needs to be for it to do it's day to day job of keeping you alive. Research engagement requires thinking in pure logic and numbers, like if I stay away from Chernobyl because I've heard it's haunted and as a result of that I don't die of radiation poisoning, while the people who don't think it's haunted do, this will likely confirm to me that the ghosts killed them. It's wrong in the letter of sense, but it's not wrong in how well it serves my purpose. And we do things like this all day every day. Research methodology requires you to not do this, and think in a very analogue, slow and methodical way, but it's the only way to get at the actual truth.

It's why you see Tony, Rhys etc who have degrees not in proper sciences constantly misinterpret research, they jump to conclusions. I'd put good money down @Geranium works with statistics and research design a lot, his posts where he breaks this stuff down are excellent

But basically no, Tony isnt displaying malice, but the dunning-krueger effect

The earliest TIP that i had a TRA show me was Jennie June born in 1874-(unknow when he died.) and i'm reading this guys wiki and it felt like he was a confused gay man.His wiki quotes "Although June expressed a lifelong desire to be a woman, June consistently used he/him pronouns in reference to himself in his own writing. June wrote of feeling like a combination of male and female."It also goes on talking about how he found safe havens at gay Paresis Hall in New York City.

There's a couple I've seen before this, but really they all follow the same script so the troons can pick whoever they like, point to some gender-nonconforming behaviour, and say that they were trans.

I can't think of anyone from before the 20th century for whom we can say that they believed they were "born in the wrong body". This is a really recent phenomenon.

I rounded up my posts on the people Tony has posthumously transed (along with a few 20th-century trannies) for @AirdropShitposts's trans science thread:
my posts on historical figures claimed to be "trans"

Tony, Zac and Kiddo were at Yellowstone park this weekend. (Not all their posted photos show up in the screenshots; it's a problem with Nitter.)

Had such an incredible weekend with the love of my life @ZoAndBehold and my son out in Yellowstone national Park!
I couldn’t ask for anything more in my life than the love I have for my family experiencing joy in the most beautiful places on earth.

Going to Yellowstone with Erin and our family—a place I've been going to since I was little—was so amazing.
I loved seeing the way our kiddo lit up seeing old faithful, and the way @ErinInTheMorn couldn't stop shouting "oh my god!" at every beautiful view.
My heart is so full.

Tony calls Zac "the love of my life". Didn't stick the last two times, but I hope "till death do us part" holds true this time. :tomgirl:

Zac referring to Tony's son as "our family" makes me feel really sorry for the boy. Being around two extremely mentally ill people a lot cannot be healthy for him.

absolutely. Tony thinks he does what @Geranium actually does, when succinctly and clearly explaining the papers cited in Tony's misinformation.

i absolutely agree with your description of how research methodology should work. but i want to clarify that the same approach should be taken to reading research.

there are many, many reasons why researchers can misrepresent things in thier papers. the pressure to publish or perish (leading to massaging shitty results), politics at their institutions, conflicts of interest (such as Turbans undeclared $15k gift from a pharmaceutical company), the cuthroat nature of academia, not wanting other research groups to beat you to lucrative IP. for example, shitty methods, cherry picked data, and unstated, important assumptions can get past peer reviewers pretty easily if they are decorated in the right way.

i'm not saying don't trust any research. there is much high quality, intellectually honest research with sound study design and analysis. just try to apply critical thought when reading. this is difficult with the high level of specialisation in most fields, its impossible to know everything necessary to fully interpret a paper unless you are a researcher in a related field. but i believe that most people can at least look at a graph or a table and figure out if the presented data is described accurately by a paper, and supports the stated conclusions.

There's a couple I've seen before this, but really they all follow the same script so the troons can pick whoever they like, point to some gender-nonconforming behaviour, and say that they were trans.

most of them totally ignore the societal pressures that might lead them to present as the opposite sex. the oppression of women gave many a motivation to pretend to be a man. Margaret Bulkley/James Barry was required to present as male to get a medical degree, i've not seen any claims that she thought she was a man. Isabel Eberhardt pretended to be a man to enter all-male Sufi sects. Sporus was a slave forced to present as a Nero's deceased ex wife. Elagabalus was just a nut job as far as i recall, maybe he wanted to be a woman but he's not a shining example you'd want for your cause.

their desperatation to make it appear like troonism has existed forever results in their willingness, whether conscious or not, to completely ignore pertinent evidence and contextual information.

but its also completely unneeded. apparently builimia barely existed until a paper was published about it. i'm not sure how true that is, as obviously it existed for a paper to be written about it. my point is, it became much more widespread in popular culture. just because we can't point to ancient bulimics (apart from maybe the classical nobles and their vomitoria) and its continuous history, doesn't mean bulimia doesn't exist. that would be a ridiculous claim.

so i just don't see the point in these types of arguments. historical precedent is not a necessary condition for validity.

Zac calling Erin's son "our son" is so gross. He's not your kid, and you barely know him. I know some step parents will do this, but that's usually only after they have been in the child's life for a long time and/or the child themselves considers the step parent to be their "real" parent, but again, Zac barely knows him and I highly doubt the kid sees him as a parental figure. I wonder if Erin is making his son refer to Zac as his 3rd mom... horrifying if so.

Feel bad for the son hanging around these gross troons all day on what should be a fun vacation. Imagine the stares he got, I'm sure by now he's old enough to know what the stares mean and feel embarrassment.

I'm genuinely surprised he remembered the child. Holy shit. Oh my god.

Sadly Mr. Reed is spiteful enough to pull poor kid away from his mom further if it meant torturing mom. He'd cut off his nose to spite his face, it doesn't matter if he barely considers his son, he has to show mom he's in control of her life. Ugly situation, ugly human being.

most of them totally ignore the societal pressures that might lead them to present as the opposite sex.
It's something said over and over again and drilled into us that even in the more recent past girls and boys were kept hard separate, but some fucking how no genderspecial historian or history lover remembers this. I suppose it would be contradictory to try considering how much their identity revolves around stereotypes, but forgetting how the past has different rules and picking out one cross dresser to say "trans!" to reeks of picking out a character and self inserting the hell out of them in the most narcissistic way possible. God, theory of mind needs to be beaten into some people.

Copying and pasting my other comment. This is the problem i have with the idea of "true trans".How do these people know who was really trans and who wasn't just some confused gender non conforming person?TRAs insist they dont promote sexist stereotypes, yet they turn around and use said stereotypes to prove someone was trans. There's no way to measure something that in itself can't be defined. All i'll say is that even if this was a real thing, sex/gender changes still aren't possible. As such, no where should we encourage crazy people to drive for genital mutilation simply because people don't conform to a stereotype of their sex.

It's just creepy, and fucked up for the kid.

The kid might already be confused what happened to his dad, and now you are getting the son to call his faggot father's boyfriend "mom" as well? I really hope his ex gets full custody rights soon, this kid must be fucked up in the head at this point. The kid is defenseless against Tony and Zac's levels of faggotry and should be protected.

I'd be freaked out if I had a kid, and my new girlfriend would call my kid her son. Let alone if my hypothetical ex would troon out and get the kid to call her "daddy" because she decided to become a pooner, and add a random faggot to the kids life which would call the kid her son/daughter. Kids should be protected against these levels of faggotry that Tony is exposing the kid to.

Yeah, I can't get over this. I think I can finally articulate why this ticks me off so much. I'm sure everyone here knows someone (or maybe you yourself) that has step parents. You know how most decent step parents try really hard to get the kid to like them and accept them? Those kinds of parents wouldn't dream of just waltzing in and declaring themselves the new parent, especially to a kid they barely know.

They would instead try to win the kid over and wait patiently for the kid to accept them. I recall several friends who went through this. The step parent trying hard to be accepted, not necessarily as a new parent, but at least accepted as a part of the family. Sometimes this took years, sometimes it never happened despite the step parent's best efforts, the kid just never accepted them as a parental figure.

But for the cases where the children did accept them as a parental figure, that was something that took time and patience, and it is something the step parents cherish, knowing they earned the love and trust of a child that isn't theirs. I remember a friend of mine finally calling her step dad "dad" for the first time after 15 years, and her step dad started crying because he was so fucking honored and touched that she looked at him as a father figure. That is my idea of a decent person trying to insert themselves into a split family, someone who knows they aren't the kid's real parent but still does their best to be a good parental figure.

With Zac and Tony, I don't see this patience. I don't see them caring that this is a big change for the poor kid. Instead, I see them treating the kid as yet another accessory to their LARP. Rather than give this poor kid space and time to adjust to yet another life altering change, they both decide that they already are a happy family. I feel so sorry for this kid and all the bullshit he has to put up with.

These guys think they've GOT IT after a glance and can be experts not even thinking they're just faking it till they make it, Tony and Alex are perfect examples. It's pretty much all sophistry because at some level that's all they think there is even if they don't know they think this.

I worked in mental health a career or two ago and every single borderline personality patient I worked with was a self appointed expert on their various conditions. The self asserted smartest people in the room. Much, much smarter than those pesky M.D.s and PhDs that keep telling them that they need to take their medicine, go to therapy, and comply with their treatment plans. What could those guys possibly know with their decade plus of post graduate education?

I see this exact same pattern with the troons.

It's just a fetish to these fucking freaks. They literally use children as props in their make believe game.

When you try to bring this up, they just say "the patriarchy" has been oppressing trans people forever and ever and that's why these people they posthumously label as trans were so afraid to come out. Funnily, Tony tried to do a series about "historical" trans people a while back, iirc on TikTok, but he tossed that aside pretty quick like most of his endeavors.
