It will start with just age verification for porn sites and nobody will object because think of the children, and it will end up as some kind of ID token to get access to the web in general.
I genuinely don’t know what the solution is, other than loading pornographers into their nearest volcano, but I am very wary of the implications of age verification.

• Inappropriate behavior was found. But you publish that you'll look like a "bigot" in PR. But you keep the troon around, it makes you look bad and complacent to the people who are upset. So you say they did nothing wrong publicly while also getting rid of them.

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) — The U.S. Space & Rocket Center (USSRC) said Friday an internal investigation found no inappropriate behavior by a Space Camp counselor, who was the subject of social media complaints.

“There is no evidence of inappropriate behavior or malfeasance between any Space Camp staff and student campers,” a statement from USSRC says.

But the USSRC also said the employee has been transferred to another job at the center following unspecified policy violations. “All other policy violations that were the subject of the investigation have been addressed as an internal personnel matter and include transferring the employee in question to another job at the Center,” the Rocket Center said.

USSRC added that staffers were not present at any point in campers’ bathrooms.

As a result of this investigation, USSRC stated they have changed some policies to address possible violations after conversation about this matter.

“We have received differing accounts on whether an employee spoke to campers on subjects that are prohibited, such as disclosing personal details, religious, or political points of view. We have added a section to our camper and parent evaluations to better capture and address any potential violations quickly,” the statement says.

I sent my kids to Space Camp at a NASA facility years ago. People from all over the world send their kids off for a week to see all the cool astronomy stuff, and to learn from scientists in the field. It's pretty damn awesome! 10/10, highly recommend if you can swing it financially (and are lucky enough to snag a space - it fills up fast.)

There is no freaking way that they are going to get an international rep for having weird dangerhaired freaks around young children. A sizable chunk of the attendees are from foreign lands, and their parents obviously aren't just average Joes back home. They know America tolerates a lot of crazy shit that doesn't fly back where they are from, but they aren't okay with the more WTF elements being shoved in their kids' faces, away from their presence. I would not be surprised to find out that they got an earful from those parents, especially parents of daughters, and aren't revealing that publicly. Releasing this story is a way for them to signal that it's okay if little Fatima or Sanjay or Mei Ling wants to come to Space Camp, it's going to be 100% wholesome like they expect.
